Yuki Ishikawa VS Jean Patry | Japan vs France | VNL 2024 FINAL. Amazing volleyball match between volleyball team Japan and France in the Final of the Volleyball Nations League 2024 (Men's VNL 2024). France won 3:1.
Yūki Ishikawa (石川祐希, Ishikawa Yūki, born 11 December 1995) is a Japanese male professional volleyball player from Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.
Ishikawa is the first volleyball player to have a wax figure in Japan.[1] Currently, his wax figure is displayed at Madame Tussauds Tokyo.[2]
Ishikawa was named "Best outside spiker" award at the FIVB World Cup (2015, 2019), FIVB Nations League (2023), Asian Championship (2017, 2019, 2021), as well as "Most valuable player" award at the Asian Championship (2017, 2023).
As of April 2021, Ishikawa is the captain of the Japan men's national volleyball team, and plays as an outside hitter. He currently plays in the SuperLega (The highest level of Italian Volleyball League) for Sir Safety Perugia.
Jean Mathias Gérard Patry (born 27 December 1996) is a French professional volleyball player who plays as an opposite spiker for the France national team.[1][2] Patry won a gold medal in the men's tournament at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Ishikawa was guarded heavily so much in everything cause France knew he caused them trouble in PH Leg. Its very heartbreaking that Ran’s absence was felt during this match as attack points greatly relied on Ishikawa. Miyaura was subbed too late to help him out. Regardless, we all know you guys did your very best. Heads up, bring this experience with you in Olympics stage. ❤

Yep, first Japan is too small, you can think what you want but it matters in volleyball, and second: weak morale in the 5th game or the 20+ pts zone. They get tired way before taller teams, and get blocked, ask NBA GMs why they don’t draft small PGs like Curry or Chris Paul anymore.

Kai Masato, or Ran Takahashi, indisposed /(injured) are the missing link in lieu of "Otsuka's untimely floor defense at the back and offensive plays upfront. It seems might have a turnaround of this Finals' had it been their circumstances. Close fight indeed BUT not enough to beat Team France. Great finish anyways for Team Japan. All the best in Paris 2024 Olympics!❤🙏🎌

Although the France team won the game, in my opinion, I see the style play of the Japan team is the best in the world. Almost all teams from Europe use their height to block on the net and the high spike.

However, with a lineup without Ran Takahashi, the Japan team demonstrated that they could play as well as the France team. I think they can win the game when the Japan team has Ran in their lineup.

It's proven that JAPAN can win against stronger teams without their star players...JAPAN won against FRANCE in week 3 without ran and NISHIDA and lost to CANADA with both of them playing....in this match ISHIKAWA is well guarded and the whole team was not playing well most especially in 3rd set all of them was lost thanks to bench for saving the starters but still not enough... anyway it's a good experience for the whole team to calm their nerve in this kind of pressure... champion mentality experience is french team advantage of winning this tournament.

Stop with Ishikawa and Japan, at the end of the day the fact is they’re too small, you can have all the power you want in your thighs, you can be as fast as you want, you’ll be tired way before guys that are 10 to 20 cm taller than you. That’s what’s basket ball is proving right now with point guards being less than 185cm height not being drafted anymore. Japan will never win anything if a team like Italy, Russia, Brazil, Poland or France can push them to the 20+ points zone. They win only with fast winning streak. As long as the opponents can make the rally lasts longer, Japan gets blocked, simple as that. And France loves long rallies, they love being pushed in the 5th game or the 20+ pts zone. And worse than that: no fighting spirit in that 20+ pts zone. Weak morale.
