Memes aside Seto Kaiba is a fairly tragic character. His mother died giving birth to his little brother, his dad died a few years later, his relatives abandoned him in an orphanage rather than care for him, he had to raise his brother alone, had to force some jackass to adopt him and give up his own childhood to get a better life for his brother, had to forcefully take over his adoptive fathers company and fight off his old board of directors and run a successful business while also attending school and protecting his brother from some crazy eqyptian magic

True, he is one of the best rivals and antiheroes. I think people often focus only on his rude attitude. He worked hard to reach what he is today. By looking into his past we can understand his obsession to be number 1 in everything and his selfish behavior most of the time.

@@jotheunissen9274 DSOD is a continuation of the original manga, so Spin-offs aren’t connected. The ending to DSOD is up to interpretation so yes, he could’ve died.

Kaiba knew this. His argument stands to never accept mediocrity.

Hes the reason ive watched it. I liked him from the beginning, but the reason hes my favourite is the second duel against yugi in season 1. He doesnt care about the win or his Firma he even doesnt care about his own life he take the risk to die just to save mokuba. That shows he has a good heart. Its hidden but its there from this moment on this whole series was a seto kaiba show.

Unless you're dueling Yugi. Or Pegasus. And he didn't *lose* to Bakura but he didn't exactly *succeed* at getting his brother back in their duel. Not on the first try. Come to think of it, I think Bakura lost every duel he was in except the laser battle one. Maybe he should have stuck to lasers instead of card games.

@@17-MASY Now that you mention it, the song probably fits Chazz better. He's the character with all the insecurities, who despite having all the wealth and fame he could have ever wanted, really just wanted friends, even if he was loath to admit it. Kaiba on the other hand was pretty much just a walking ego. He had a soft spot for Mokuba and an obsession with Yugi, but that's about limit of his emotional range.

and lets not forget that if it wasnt for kaiba yugi would have been a nobody for quite a while. the only reason he got recognized at first was for beating kaiba. he might have become known after winning the first tournament though, assuming pegasus would have been able to find him when yugi was still a nobody that pegasus had never heard of.... still kaiba is waaaaaay cooler than yugi and his geek friends. a fabulous shimmer, a glow in your heart, im glitter lucky.

@@glitterlucky58 Most of Yugi's achievements are, in a way, thanks to Kaiba He was allowed to compete in Duelist Kingdom because Pegasus heard Yugi defeated Kaiba Duelist City was Kaiba's big tournament Beating the leader of the Oricalcos Arc was because Kaiba sacrificed himself Yugi would be (almost) nothing without Kaiba

@@jotheunissen9274 well something similar to duelist Kingdom would probably happen eventually anyways because Pegasus would still want the millennium puzzle and would look for it but it just would have taken a lot longer.

From all Yugioh series in terms of protagonists i like Pharaoh and Yusei Fudo as for their Rivals definitely Seto Kaiba and Jack Atlas.4 of the best characters over the years

What I love most about Kaiba now is that he threw away his pride and was willing to die just to beat Yugi to save his little brother. When I was young I was mad he pull a cheat move just to beat Yugi but now as a adult I truly understand he had no other choice but to win the way he did.

I have never seen an episode of Yugioh. I don't know any of what's going on. I've barely picked up the basics of how the card games works. But I will always watch any clip of Seto Kaiba I come across because he is so hilariously over the top.

Nice!..... Dark Side of Dimensions. Have to rewatch that again. I keep getting a lot of these Blue Eyes variations a bit confused that I don't even know them all, (Really need a list and maybe like in order most-least powerful) like the 1 that looks cyberish with neon blue streaks, 2 or 3 heads it looks like.
