Honestly, I don't know how they expected anybody to be able to pull these things off in the first place. Especially when you can just take two of any old monster and smash them together into a better one than you'd get from the long, arduous process involved with these...

It is an amazing game, but yeah with amazing games comes fuck up like these, which is pretty big because they made ritual extremely shitty. The game was in 1999/2001 I think, so oh well, still amazing game :P

Oh my gosh the models😹😹😹 No they did not age well at all. Some look ok but most are just not recognizable. Why they do Twin Headed Thunder Dragon so dirty? Obviously THTD is more of a MVP the Dark Magician in this game so THTD deserves a better model

So after many years with thousands replay times, this is the first time I ever know how to use those cards 🤣

Dark Magic Ritual and all other Ritual monsters save for Millennium Shield and Yamadron are impossible to own physical copies of, with or without the ridiculous price gouge of 999,999 Starchips. Speaking of which, there are 39 duelists in the game, and that divides up perfectly with the number 999,999 Starchips. So in total, you would exactly roughly 25,641 Starchips per duelist. That pretty much equates to 5,128.2 S-ranks (Pow or Tec) per duelist in order to get to the magic number of 999,999 Starchips. You get that many, then use the 3-memory card trick in order to obtain 698 cards out total. Just win the Meteor Black Dragon card from the Meadow Mage, and this should be your final statistic in the game: Physical Copies: 699 cards/722 Transparent Cards: 21/722 Total Cards collected: 720/722 And all that requires a hell of a ton of dedication to this game in order to obtain all of these.

Man I wish these rituals sacrificed from your hand instead of the field. That would have made so much more sense given how you can fuse monsters normally.

I didn't use any riutal card on this game ever :D

If you look at the context of the rituals is actually pretty funny because for Tri-Horned Dragon you need horned monsters (like Torike) and B. Dragon Jungle King to ritual summon, Battle Steer which acts as the meat and Griggle that is basically the salad to ritual summon Hungry Burger or Kanikabuto (crab) and Catapult Turtle to ritual summon Crab Turtle. Very interesting.

They may be completely useless, but all the weird fusions are what makes me love the game so much, despite how little sense most of them make. For instance, you'd think Fiend's Mirror would be an obvious fusion of a mirror + fiend, but nope, that's Summoned Skull.

After 16 years of playing this game once per year, I noticed that for the first time.

I think they are meant to be used in the very early game and thats why they are so cheap and the monsters so weak, i still found the black luster soldier summoning kinda helpful against heavy defenses like millennium shield or labyrinth wall

Space Megatron was also in Sacred Cards, Reshef of Destruction and Duelist of the Roses, but not this game. 5:23 Psycho Puppet was in here, Reshef and Sacred Cards. I'm sure there are others, but all I know of

At the Endgame your Opponents have Blue Eyed Ultra Dragon and Super Powerful other Monsters that would destroy most of this ritual card Monsters. For me rituals are nice but not really helpful in the story.

Many of this cards that were once only gotten through ritual became standalone cards i believe after this game came out Real life, I have gotten Cosmo Queen, Tri horn dragon, Serphant knight dragon, gamma sword, crab turtle, senjennin through booster packs

When this first came out, i never knew how to ritual summon, the regret....and they were really rare too!

i just love the cosmo queen ✨ so elegant 😂

The card art for the original 722 cards shown here are really the only Yu-Gi-Oh art I like. My favourite card art is Maiden of the Moonlight, and I bought it last week and am so happy with it.

I didn't even know rituals were in the game. I was too busy fusing a dragon with at least 1600 and a thunder

Playing Aki's theme from 5DS is such a cool addition.

I've never liked Yamadron much; it's the weakest ritual monster in the game in both this game and Duelists of the Roses. In fact, in DotR, there are a couple of other ways to summon Yamadron without the ritual card, not that they make it any good, mind you

@@matthewkuscienko4616 in the game, yes, he was a ritual summon - but then a lot of the ideas in this game were fleshed out before the card game was properly realized - so a lot of the rituals were scrapped and never released in the actual card game. Off the top of my head, the millennium shield, tri-horned dragon, yamadron and the serpent night dragon rituals were never realized IRL outside of the game. And obviously the Gate Guardian ritual and Ultimate Dragon never made it into the real game either.

Chakra’s ritual card was messed up man. It implies that a dark cult kidnapped a poor girl and turned her into Chakra through dark magic powered by those three sacrifices

I wouldn't expect anything less from a Japanese card game. They love having dark shit in their media for teens (yes, Yu-Gi-Oh was originally aimed at teens, unlike the 4Kids censored-to-hell version we got in the West aimed at children).

+Rizky A. Pedestrian there is a card of tri horned dragon you can get, you dont need the ritual card if you have it, like black luster soldier. the only card you need a ritual for is blue eyes ultimate. or you can get the card without needing the ritual by using a code and paying 9999 star chips

i remeber when i first started playing, i fused a bunch of random cards and i ended up making either a ritual card or an equip spell either way the only card i actually remember being in the fusion is the masked clown i hate how i cant remember the ones i used. i actually spent a long time using the very same deck and fusing random cards again trying to find it

later in the game some of these are useless but early they are a god send. use to use the hell out of hamburger recipe and novox prayer

I kinda want some of the unreleased Ritual Monsters to the actual cardgame and stuff like Gate Guardian Ritual, Ultimate Dragon etc to turn into support cards to get the respective boys out quicker with far less restriction. Perhaps Gate Guardian Ritual could let you tribute Gate Guardian Materials from the hand and deck and give it some much needed protection? Yamadron Ritual could be a spell that gets out any level 5 normal Dragon, Pyro or Beast Warrior monster from anywhere, and gets some kind of bonus when summoning Yamadron with it.

The ritual performed like the game have to have stars from the Monsters to add up on the field to it and activate the ritual card and it summoned

@Alex Rain Aldo I mean Ultimate Dragon Ritual, not the stand alone Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon. That card is impossible to get without hacking/cheating. Same goes for a fair few of the other ritual cards/components.

Wish fusions worked by the sum of the monsters' stars used in the sacrifices, that'd make them far more useable

Should give you the card permanently after you do it - say, consumes the ritual and the three cards permanently - but the card it summons you get now - and you get to keep it. Even some of the really shitty rituals would make sense then, and it'd all be pretty hype

Great video, but we all know its best to just make Twin Headed Thunder Dragon to win.

if i could remaster this game i would 1 add more cards , 2make card packs with an actuall chance of droping those unobtanable cards 3 make ritual cards work from hand or field 4 make use of magic and trap cards on the same turn ..

why do they line-up differently when the ritual starts? could that order mean you could fuse them alone to make the ritual card or the monster? mmm....

I knew of the existence of rituals but in my entire time I know and played the game I have never seen the animation.

it must have taken a long time to figure out, or the game disc came the handbook with rituals and fusions.

it seems like for all the trouble rituals are worth, if they could've bumped all these monsters up by 1000 points each, then they'd all might actually be worth the effort of getting the ritual to work. So get Chakra to 3450/3500, Dokurorider to 2900 ATK, Sengenjin to 3750, and yes, gate guardian to 4750 & blue eyes ultimate dragon to 5500. biggest key would be to make sure that no one, not even the AI would have access to ritual monsters unless they have the card.

its not really a trouble since your hand gets filled to 5 every turn so you have plenty draw power and even with 3 tributes you always have resource before or after the ritual

Yamadron can be acquired from a Radom drop from any mage I think?

The worst part is the dark magic ritual getting it 5 stars in the maintenance story is due able but the final 4 bosses with only 5 cards each nope especially when two of them has blue eyes ultimate dragons

This was so cost inefficient when compared to combiniting dragons and electricity.

A única coisa chata nesse jogo é o fato de você só poder setar uma carta por turno, independente de ser mágica, armadilha ou monstro. Monstro é sempre um, mas mágicas e armadilhas não. Inclusive, você pode usar a carta mágica direto da mão, por exemplo a polimelização. Nem precisa ter nenhum monstro em campo, desde que tenha todas na mão. Mas nesse jogo não. Vc tem que ir setando carta por carta nesse processo demorado e enfadonho kkkkkk e torcendo pro cara não destruir. Mas é um excelente jogo. Zerei pela segunda vez essa semana, depois de quase 20 anos.

The only useful and worth ritual is the ultimate dragon, besides you have or not the ritual card, you still have three cards with 3000 atk. Much better then have 3 weak monsters for one "strong" ritual.

If Rituals included material from the hand like tag fusion they'd actually be playable.

It's like that in duelists of the roses, too, unfortunately. Having said that, and what bugs me more is 2 things in particular: 1) They all need 3 specific cards to play, and no other combination of monsters will work (from what I've been able to find out online, anyways) and 2) Most of the time, the game will only hint at which monsters are needed rather than tell you outright, and some don't even do that, just instead opting to say something to the effect of "ceremony to summon, sacrifice required". Basically, it requires too much guess work to figure out how to play them, and I'd imagine that it was probably for these reasons specifically why they changed it in DotR to tell you what cards you actually need to use.

Yeah, Yamadron is pretty bad for a monster that requires you to bring out and then sacrifice 3 monsters to play, and I would even argue it's worse in Duelists of the Roses. Why? Because they gave it an effect in that game to turn the terrain into normal terrain spaces, which isn't very useful since that's the only terrain in the whole game that does literally nothing

Even 20+ years after, this game is surrounded by mystery. Super War-lion is one of the cards listed in the 82 impossible ones to drop, but for myself, I can affirm the many of that 82 are possible, but fucking hard to obtain. I dropped my Super War-lion from Guardian Sebek or Neku, don't remember exactly from which one, but remember it was in the campaign via S-Pow rank. What I believe is to exist some conditions, apart the normal drop rates, to fullfill or enable the drop of certain cards, like having 1 or more specific cards on your deck when you face the probably duelist which drop the desired card The 2 ones that are really impossible seems to be the 721- Dark Magic Ritual and 722- Magician of the Black Chaos, which people don't even dare to lie that they got it. In all these years these cards were obtained only via mod, glitch or cheating.
