Yusuke was a one line machine... his comebacks honestly were atleast 25% of the show.... on top of the great English dub cast, the story and the action.

God, to say that I love Yu Yu Hakusho is an understatement.

This legit brought tears to my eyes

One of the best OG animes, and one of the few where the Engish Dub is arguably superior to the Japanese. It's that good.

All these years later, Justin Cook as Yusuke might be the best performance I've ever heard in an anime dub. No discredit to any of his other VA's in other languages, but to me, he's THE Yusuke.

@@aster5191 Christopher Sabat as Kuwabara, Chuck Huber as Hiei and John Burgmeier as Kurama as well. The entire cast was perfect but those four as the great group that they were just sold the characters.

@@aster5191 That scene of Yusuke fully absorbing the spirit orb and saving his spirit beast still brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it. "SCREW THIS TEST I'M GETTING US OUT OF HERE!!!" So many raw and real emotions packed into that one sentence. God bless the VAs, they carried this show.

While the main cast is great, there are a few _really bad_ side character voices.

We never had the English theme (not until Animax Asia came in 2003)instead we had the Japanese theme and it's awesome. The Filipino dub is iconic for us 90's kids when it was released here years ago. Bonner Dytoc as Yusuke(Eugene in Filipino dub), Neil Yu as Kuwabara(Alfred in Filipino dub), Montreal Repuyan as Hiei (Vincent), I forgot others but for me the most iconic villain of all time is none other than, Taguro who had the most badass voice ever, who can't remember the most awesome lines when he and Yusuke met in the first spirit tournament, "Humanda ka Eugene, ibibigay ko sa iyo ang isangdaan porsyento ng aking lakas(translation: Prepare yourself Eugene, I'll give you my one hundred percent of my power)" then he goes berserk to Yusuke, memories 😁

This is still peak anime to this day

Love this song, I fell in love with the show a few years ago when I watched it with a great friend of mine after some persistence in watching it. No regrets. Easily one of the best anime out there of all time. Because I can't find anything else to compare it to. Wonderful cover on drums.

One of my favourite child hood gems. Listening this took me through hyper speed memory lane.

One of my favourite anime openings. LOVE it so much. The top anime that I grew up watching: Yu Yu Hakusho, InuYasha, Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, Death Note, Fruits Basket, Fushigi Yuugi, Gad Guard, Gungrave, Ghost Hunt, Ghost in the Shell, Witch Hunter Robin, and much, much more.

I loved this show! I watched through it all in middle school. I definitely feel like it’s one that everyone loves, but no one talks about!

ahhh..the memories..time to watch this masterpiece again..

Man, been ages since I last heard this OP. I was super into it back in 2nd and 3rd grade when it came on Toonami. It became my childhood favorite anime. Also, I wanna recommend a series called JuJutsu Kaisen. This series is like if Yu Yu Hakusho and Bleach had a child. Even the creator of the series says those 2 were what inspired him to create it.

I remember Bleach was almost cancelled early on because execs thought it was too much like Yuyu hakusho but Akira Toriyama of Dragonball fame told them to give Bleach a chance

Kenshin was a mess, besides the hype it did not survived the test of time. It starts promising and goes nowhere.However, the soundtrack is still one of the best in anime.

People on the series can never shut up on how badass Kenshin used to be, and after 20 episodes worth of build up, the battle just ends up in the most silly and cartoonish way possible. I remember a fight where Kenshin used a wind gust of his sword to make a guy fly to the horizon, Team Rocket style. Wow, such a fearsome samurai. It had good characters and one amazing setup,but when you rationalize it, 80% of it revolves around people talking about how cool they are, instead of actually doing something. And when they finally do, trust Scooby Doo hijinks to derail the whole thing. What a waste.

Who HASN'T seen Yu Yu Hakusho?! That was the gud shit! Admittedly, I hadn't finished watching the anime but read the manga. Toonami was the only place I could see episodes while visiting my dad in the US. Meanwhile in Canada: nope. You've no choice but live the pirate life.

No but fr kids these days simply do not know the struggle of having to watch those 144p VHS rips on the sketchiest website you've ever seen or having to buy like 20+ tapes or newfangled dvds if you wanted to watch an anime. They have it so easy with their hulus and their crunchymations and their netflixes. I *still* haven't been able to complete my 2001 Baki collection because it was never rereleased after the first home video run. I'm legit so glad they don't have to suffer like we did.

The vocal technique on this song is certifiably horrible and that's why I love it to death. It isn't incredibly overproduced with an entire studio team's tweaking and tuning, it's just a babe singing.

stopped on episode 69. yusuke got kidnapped by a highschooler after winning the dark tournament and i said to myself, "..lame" and deleted the rest of the episodes.

Not saying the English ver is bad, but it does feel kinda lacking without the arigatougozai *MAS!*

Ugh, this version. It's a fair attempt I suppose. I grew up with the original JP version so this objectively sounds worse due to noticable differences that aren't just the singer.
