You missed the biggest misplay of the video. Obelisk (And all 3 Gods) prevent cards and effects from activating when tribute summoned. This means that your brother would never have got the first token from Tellus, and therefore never have summoned Slifer. Source: the official Konami ruling that would prevent you from getting a search with Sangan if you tribute it for Obelisk. Youc an find it on the Yugioh Wiki

Yeah structure deck battles are a thing. Some tournaments give free structure decks and let you build your deck and the winners get awards on top of that

I'm very happy to see you guys having fun. It shows that despite being an adult and having daily responsbilities, we all still can have our inner child enjoy things. Yu-gi-oh! is one of them.

Sam definitely cheated but he was still going to win. The first ra’s disciple Sam summoned gets blown up by slifer but it’s effect still triggers to summon 2 more. If he summons those 2 in defense they don’t get blown up by slifer. Sam still tributes the god slime and 2 disciples to make ra 5200 and adds his 4900 life points to make it 10,100.

i think sam cheated a little when he was using the ra deck, because when he summoned the ra's disciple and getting the other two out, slifer's effect would have activated and destroyed them before he even had a chance to use them, because from what i remember with slifer's effect because it is my favorite god card, slifers 2000 point damage summon attack effect counts for every monster that is summoned.

@@rober4 it's not so much that slifer is strong enough, it's more about how strong the other monsters are, like if you don't summon anything that's atleast 2100 points or summon monsters in face down defense position then they would be still alive for the moment, and as a little bit of an update about slifers effect too, it also activate when monsters are summoned or special summoned, so no matter how a monster is summoned slifers effect would activate instantly and if they are 2000 points or lower then they are dead

Their energy actually makes this, they properly role play for the attacks and it’s jokes 😆

I have dueled my bf 5 times now with slifer and only just won my first one.... Granted this was also the first time I was able to pull slifer. All the other times I couldn't get him out of the deck.

The last duel ACTUALLY had all the Gods played....AT THE SAME TIME! Even if the decks were stacked, it was worth it to literally see the anime recreated. Honestly, very interesting that the cards worked correctly considering they are all unplayable if you don't have the Gods on the field, which requires both the Gods, tributes for them, and drawing all of the new Spells (and laughably traps). I could see these support cards bricking or being slow in so many other situations.

How did I never watch your Duels before. This was fun as hell💜

I like how the TCG split the set into two unique ready to play decks, I think that's a fun and cool way to reach a casual audience to interact like the times of the very first Starter Decks. However, I do think they should have something a bit more substantial for 2021 standards. HFD is a nostalgic card, but it is at 1 and quite easy to obtain from Maximum Gold compared to cards you need 3 of that are outrageously priced. Slifer God Deck could have come with Lightning Storm or Magician's Soul, and Dark Ruler No More or Ice Dragon's Prison or something in Obelisk's, honestly I think a Egyptian God Slime could have worked in either, being a clone of Obelisk and Slifer's original deck was slime themed. Any 1 of these cards would have been enough, but the TCG is notorious for not taking the extra step, like including the shiny sleeves, or forgetting Sphere Mode outside of Rage of Ra, and putting Toon Kingdom as an OTS Ultimate instead of including it in Toon Chaos. We're going to have to wait for January's Legendary Duette Collection to feature Magician's Rod, and we won't get cards like Magi Magi Magician or Harpie Perfumer in Lost Art, or any other cool Alts of Blue-Eyes or Red-Eyes. The OCG isn't perfect, for example I think we could use Alternate arts of Harpie Lady or Cyber Harpie featuring the other two sisters, or maybe some other stuff with Gate Guardian, but the TCG just intentionally makes things less impressive sometimes.

Besides your wheel of Yu-Gi-Oh Series I'm in love with your duels with Soom because it just reminds me heaps of how I play with my cousin and my brother

I would love to see a gen duel or maybe even a tournament between the main protagonists of eatch generation (i.e. Jaden v. Yugi or Yuma v. Yuya)

I never liked recorded duels its always boring especially tournaments but I swear when these two duel it's so fun to watch I hope most duel videos are much like this. entertaining and understandable.

The first Ra's Disciple would have been destroyed by Slifer however if he was taking this remotely seriously he would have summoned the other two in defence. Sam would then (Using Ancient Chant) tribute 2 Disciples and God Slime for Ra making it 5200 attack. All three gods have the built in effect of "This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, other cards and effects cannot be activated.". This prevents activations of cards or effects during the Summon-Negation window and the Summon-Response window. Therefore, Slifer is not able to activate to reduce Ra's attack, which happens in the Summon-Response Window as a mandatory effect. Ra's effect kicks in which puts it's attack up by 4900 (As Sam was only at 5000 LP because of his own Mound) making Ra 10100 attack. Ra then attacks over Slifer for 9100 Battle Damage and 1000 Effect Damage from mound. If we play Devils advocate and assume all the disciples were destroyed, Sam could still summon Ra by tributing God Slime as three tributes. This would make Ra 7900 attack (3000+4900). When he attacks over Slifer he would deal 6900 Battle damage and 1000 Effect Damage. I don't think his brother was coming back with 100 life points, Obelisk, Mirror Force and 1 card in hand. Especially given that Sam had both Unification and Blaze Cannon set and the protection from Mound.

There's as much chance as Sam actually messing up, the fact he did mess up tells me he would have still done so in any other environment. I'm not saying he is bad, but he is human and can lose a duel. He's not a computer.

Let's assume that the other two disciples were summoned in attack by accident. Sam would then activate Ancient Chant and tribute just God Slime making Ra 3000 attack. As far as I recall the God effect of "This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated. When Normal Summoned, other cards and effects cannot be activated." prevents activations in both the Summon-Negation window and the Summon-Response window. This would prevent Slifer from actually triggering on Ra. Sam then uses Ra's summon effect to boost it's attack by 4900 making it 7900 attack. @@DTO3167 Only monsters summoned in attack mode. If Sam summoned the two Disciples from deck in Defence they live. All three gods have the effect that prevents cards/effects from activating at the time of summon. This prevents Slifer from activating on Ra's normal summon. Egyption God Slime can count as 3 tributes for a normal summon. Even if all 3 Disciples are destroyed Ra would still be summon with 7900 attack (3000 from God Slime and 4900 Life Points)

@@tratanlightbreaker6029 I've never seen Hastor come close to being played, whereas Cthugua has seen use as a 4th Herald of Arc Light in Auroradon turbo decks. Also, you forget about Norden. I can't think of a more fitting place for a God than the banlist, so he truly is the best of the entity Gods. You also have Sacred Beasts and Wicked Gods, Nordics, maybe stuff like Divine Serpent Geh (Great Leviathan if ever) and Crimson Dragon Ultimaya (both I guess). Also, Exodia is a God, and he is so powerfully iconic, his full effect has always been in the TCG, plus has been on the Forbidden and Limited List from the beginning. Instant Win is what a God's power should be. Holactie the Creator of Light from the OCG is also here, and perhaps Zorc is too if they ever print him. Perhaps both will come to the TCG at the same time. If Obelisk had the anime effect, he'd be here too. His anime effect is protection as well as infinite power: tribute 2, battle successfully against a non DEF monster, and win. That is infinite ATK. Perhaps Anime Ra and Slifer too. The point is... Uh.. I forgot. The point is Hastor is not the best.

@@Goblin_Hands Let me explain myself I excluded Norden and Azathot cause they are banned. Including them Azathot is probably the best. Both cthuga and norden are god cards but they are just extenders. They don't impact the field at all (unless ou opponent plays rank 4 spam) You can't win using cthuga nor norden like you can with different gods. Wicked gods are awful and die to everything. Nordic gods are awful and they are heck hard to summon Comparing anything to exodia is poitless Holactie is OCG only and good luck summoning him. And Gods don't have their anime effects so your last point is confusing at least. I didn't really took to the counting ultimaya and Geh, and tbh honest they are not that bad (I have mixed feelings towards Ultimaya from the same reason as Norden and Cthuga, but this time i guess it's ok) so i can see it And Phantasms - i can see that but i really have hard time to say they are good while their whole deck revolvs on not summoning them as they were supposed to be summoned. If skipping that they may be stronger than Nt'ss and Hastor, but it feels a bit streched to me. My point - most of the goods in YGO are trash, and the 2 i mentioned can be summoned fairly easly and have effects that can let you win the duel more than less reliably. They not top tier cards, the cards they compeate here are just worse (mostly because they are too hard to summon).

@@grandpascardstcg ​ I think you need to rewatch the duel and read some cards. First of all Ra's Disciple is irrelevant. Egyptian God Slime can be treated as 3 tributes for a tribute summon. Using Ancient Chant, Sam would Tribute God Slime for Ra giving it 3000 Original Attack. All Gods have the effect "When Normal Summoned, other cards and effects cannot be activated." which prevents effects being activated in response to summon. This means Slifer is not actually able to trigger to reduce Ra's attack points. Sam then uses Ra's effect to add 6900 attack points to Ra from his LP. This brings it's attack up to 9900. Sam attacks over Slifer who has 1000 attack resulting in 8900 damage and still winning the duel. Furthermore, if we assume Sam played it properly then Slifer triggers on the frist Ra's Disciple summon as CL1 and Ra's Disciple activates as an optional effect as CL2. Ra's Disciple resolves and Sam *Can* summon two more Disciples from the deck in Defence mode. Slifer resolves and destroys the Normal Summoned Disiple. It cannot trigger on the other two as they should have been special summoned in Defence. This means Ra would have had 2200 more attack than I stated above. In addition to this, Mound would then also deal 1000 more damage when Slifer is destroyed in battle. Now if you want to talk about cheating. When Sam's brother summoned Obelisk, he activated the effect of Tellus to summon a token, which you can't do. Obelisk prevents effects being activated when he is summoned. As effects cannot be activated when Tellus is sent to the grave he cannot summon the first token, and therefore can't summon the extra two. This means he never would have summoned Slifer to begin with. - Ex Judge.

Enjoyed the video. Noticiced the misplay. the Ra support against one Struckture deck was not fair. would have liked to see a combination of both structures vs the Ra. but really enjoy this type of matches.

To clarify on how Slifer's effect interacts with Ra's Summon, it can't even activate, all three Gods say "When Normal Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated." this includes mandatory or otherwise automatic activations, such as Slifer's second-mouth -2000 ATK and destroy effect. It won't even activate. I've tested it on multiple simulators.
