I have such a love-hate relationship with this movie. On the one hand it looks amazing and was obviously made for the fans, but on the other... it makes me feel incredibly sad and nostalgic. Watching the characters I grew up with become adults and live their separate lives, as well as Atem finally leaving for good by taking the puzzle with him in the afterlife... it leaves a bittersweet taste in my mouth.

Well, everyone has to grow up sooner or later. Yugi did. While he and his friends all loved and missed Atem dearly, they knew that he was where he belonged; in the paradise he had earned but sacrificed for the world for three thousand years. Ironically, this whole movie's theme was growth. For Yugi and his friends, it was how they had grown since their adventures with Atem, and how he wouldn't want for them to be so wracked with grief without him. For Kaiba, it was how he couldn't grow past the point he was already at without being able to prove to the Pharaoh that he was superior, a need to show that he was still the best. For Diva/Aigami, it was how he had grown powerful with the Pharaoh's ascension to the afterlife, and how he would do what he thought was needed to keep that power; a need that nearly cost him his life. The finishing touch of Atem pulling the Millennium Items out of the physical world was the last thing that was needed to allow everyone to continue to grow. By not taking the Items with him the first time, Atem allowed Diva to rise using the power of his Cube and the Plana. But, he trusted that Yugi and his friends could handle it. And when it became clear they couldn't, that the power of the Shadow Games still persisted, only then did he return; stripping the Plana of their power, purging the evil from the Millennium Ring, and return the world rightful state. And with the final powers of Ancient Egypt quelled and Atem leaving without a word, Yugi, Kaiba, and Aigami could finally get on with their lives... well, Yugi and Aigami at least...

R.I.P kazuki Takahashi thanks for giving us a childhood you are a legend and your legacy will carry on

I've always been a fan of this series mostly because of Yami Yugi. As a kid before, I've admired their friendship with everyone. Though I never dueled anyone w/ the card game, one thing always remained simple and great: Yu-Gi-Oh DM is one of the BEST anime ever created in my childhood. No matter how many diff Yu-Gi-Oh series may come and go, this will still remain the champ; no. 1 in our hearts!

I used to binge watch this show as a little kid because the characters were so hot. There were different version, I watched the very old ones. I never knew this was an anime until I became into anime. Thanks for the memories indeed. Beautiful amv.

Now I'm just remembering those times sitting at home watching 4kids then going to school and actually buying card and playing the game. I love this amv.

As a legitimate raidraptor player...you fucked up. Rank-Up-Magic Raptor's Force can only be used when your monsters destroyed that turn, it revives the destroyed monster then ranks it up by 1. So in short...I win.

@@Gabi-be4zl Dark Side of Dimensions is the 3rd. Bonds Beyond Time is the 2nd, Pyramid of Light was 1st. There was also a Japanese movie that released before all of these, but I'm not sure if it should count.

Idk. Kaiba, to make himself greater at a game he was already among the top 2 in, created a dominant economy focused on creating quality products (for his game), created a system that projected holograms of each and every card that responded to vocal commands, completely altered his world that was, during DUELIST KINGDOM, still using VHS tapes, and seems to have created a utopia in Domino City, until it was made into New Domino in 5D's.

Loved it!!! I miss Yu-Gi-Oh!!

Really well made and the song goes really well with the video cause it's "Thanks For The Memories" and this movie brings back memories. 10/10

By first 50 seconds of the video you would not say that anime is about card game.

The manga wasn't really about card games. Seto kaiba included it. And since darkside of dimensions is following the manga, it's kind of normal the story talks about card games only when kaiba is involved

​@bigfish5544 Thats the thing that I loved about the original series. GX and 5D's tried to do the same, but the entire series seemed to think it couldn't exist without the game. But, given that it seems everything is funded by Kaibacorp somehow, it makes a little sense. Even if I hate it.

This is such a perfect song to describe this group! I still love yugioh and will often watch an episode or two.... or fifty 😂

I like to Headcanon that SOMEHOW Atem knew Yugi and the others were in trouble frantically trying to figure out a way to get back to them after having already passed over. He crossed BACK into the living when it was supposed to be impossible just to save his friends.

Knowing him, Atem wouldn't be frantic. He'd make his way to the gates of the afterlife and force them open to get to his friends. Just like Yugi, if it's to help a friend, nothing will stop him.
