This week a 5-year old girl was shot in her own bed in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood. It’s the latest shooting for an area plagued by gun violence and poverty. Now a new docuseries follows the Liberty City Warriors youth football program - giving young people and their families hope for a better future.
We speak with the parents of the late King Carter - a 6-year old killed by a stray bullet in 2016 and a Warriors player. His father, Santonio, has remained a coach for his late son’s team. They share how this program has helped them and the community continue to heal and give the next generation a fighting chance.
