YOW - The Nature of Gliding, a Kazushige Fujita portrait
It’s time for the 3rd chapter of our portrait series, which will take us to the slopes of Hakuba, Japan. ‘The Nature of Gliding’ is an ode to embracing various things, the connection of man with nature and moving with the flow of life.
“Variety is the spice of life”, a friend once told me and that’s what this video represents. ‘The Nature of Gliding’ is a stunning portrayal of the embodiment of these powerful words, brought to life through our esteemed team rider, longtime friend, and Hakuba-resident, Kazushige Fujita.
We follow our long-time friend and teamrider Shige on a trip taking us around the beautiful scenery of Japan. We watch him gracefully carving the slopes of his hometown, Hakuba WOKOU, effortlessly gliding atop a pair of waves along the Japanese coastline, and skating the endless streets nestled amidst towering mountains.
The third portrayal of YOW’s portrait series, where we will shine a light on our team of diverse riders all around the globe, inspiring and encouraging the art of self-expression.

This was some of the most beautiful snowboarding I have ever seen and props to yow for linking snowboarding, surfing and surfskating
As a snowboarder and skater I was transfixed by how beautiful a snow/skate movie that was. I’m obsessed with some places in Utah and this year’s record snowfall gave me the opportunity to access it. Shige’s comment on only being able to ride certain areas when the conditions are perfect really hit the mark! There’s a great surf movie from the ‘70s called “Big Wednesday” that basically sums up those greatest hopes and desires of boarders and surfers everywhere. Thanks Yow for publishing!
This was beautiful. Love to see the connection between surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding

ive thought this for quite awhile since my surfer friends first introduced surfskating to me. i feel it most on the trans or bowls
Gracias otra vez
