I tend to watch these kinds of essays because I tell myself "Oh drama I'm not aware of" but most of the time it devolves to them just retelling stories from tweets and then chastising whoever they're blabbing about. Half the time I give up cause it's so boring especially when they act all sanctimonious about the whole thing.

When the title mentioned video essays, I was thinking Jenny Nicholson, HBomberguy, D’Angelo Wallace who tend to make videos on rather niche things but are very clearly passionate and well researched… not content farms and problematic people like Sunnyv2 😂

There are plenty of well written, well researched, profound gems out there, but these hit pieces get all the views because theyre so clickbaity. The idea of being able to research a topic, and present a well thought out opinion on that said topic is a scary thought to these commentary youtubers because they dont need to have any opinion on what they're talking about just blabber on about some random youtuber that messed up something.

I knew there was going to be a SunnyV2 parody, but did not expect the Penguinz0 impression!

I think this is how I felt after I lost an hour of my life watching that SunnyV2 video about that no-one who made those stand-up battles or roasts or whatever that were awful, I didn't even know that person and I don't even care about them, I felt as if I had lost part of my life listening that for nothing.
