I was so ready to mock thinking that all Apetor was doing was stunts and that he was doing them "for the views". Then they mentioned he was a cancer survivor, determined to live life to the fullest, and to share the joy of every adventure, whether in travel or everyday life. I still wouldn't call Apetor a role model but I have nothing but respect and admiration for his audacity. Rest now, sir. You lived life good.

:p I think they messed up in the grammar. Instead of saying, "...as you've done so many times before!", should state something, "...unlike how you did get up the many times before." Stating unlike, means there's a difference, and "as" just sounds 'as' the same thing.

Yeah right? That's exactly how my grandfather died - drowned because he was alone. Nobody was with him, my grandmother was in the garden cutting wood. She didn't hear him screaming and he couldn't pull himself out because he was old and weak. My great-grandfather also died drowning. I guess death by drowning os more common than we think, right?

What's crazy is that my mom would always say not to joke about death as Jesus can take my life away. That's why I never did (well, also because I didn't want my mom mad at me), ans I'm still alive! yeahhh but its stupid to give excuses to stupidity. He knew the risks and still did it. Its like saying the same thing about paul walker....ohhh he died doing what he loved...No he was being stupid and reckless. Same goes for this chap. He seemed like such a happy person too, its sad to see him go♥

usually when a celebrity dies in it doesn’t take me very long to get over it but still after 3 months I can’t stop thinking about apetor. Only a few days before the accident he replied to one of my comments like he does a lot, and it meant a lot to know he passed loving his fans.

RIP! The fact that he lived for a day after that incident speaks to the strength of the Norwegian people. I had an uncle from Norway - unfortunately he passed away several years at the age of 89 - he was the strongest person I ever knew. Strength to the core! His hands were so leathery tough. His body looked like it had been through a war but it never phased him. And his mind…perhaps the strongest of all! And I’ve come to realize that he was indicative of the strength of so many Norwegians. It’s in their culture and heritage. Amazing!

i don't think he gave up his life to entertain others, i think he just did what he loved and recorded it to share with others so that we viewers can enjoy it just as much as he does. why not share happiness amongst others?

This guy... always posted the most random videos i've ever seen, always drinking some kind of spirit while staring directly into your soul. The videos hardly made sense, but were worth watching. A man that didn't care what people think of his videos. Just enjoying life and having fun. Like we all should. RIP my man

Really liked this guys videos and used to watch them with my friends. RIP to a legend 🙏🙏

I never came across his channel but he seemed like a great guy. Godspeed.

I didn’t know anything about until now and still will miss him. Going to try to watch his videos.

He died doing what he loved doing. Sad as his passing is, I think he was living his life to the fullest. Which is more than most of us can say. I think him surviving rectal cancer in 2018 allowed him to open himself up to living his life as such.

My mortality just made me wanna make money for my mom and little brother. I'm 25 got leg torn off in a motorcycle accident, they reattached it. Trying to buy my first house and make as much as I can for them. Don't care about living life as much as I want them to have a good life.

Apetor was just different. You can tell he was someone who enjoyed his solitude (at least I'm not aware of him having a wife) to the fullest. Just imagine him being your dad. He probably could teach you so much about simply enjoying ONLY yourself. RIP Legend.

I discovered his channel only a few months before it happened. It was relaxing to watch his goofy antics and I was really enjoying his videos. Shame it ended that way, but he was kind of playing with fire (err.... ice?) being out alone drinking vodka on the frozen lake. May he rest in peace. He will be missed.

I clearly remember watching his videos for the first time. It was a time when I was dealing with depression and loneliness (as we all do) and his videos brought me such peace and happiness. His positive outlook on live and everything he did made me realize that we should all just enjoy the little things. RIP Apetor, we will never forget all the times you’ve made us happy. Truly an inspiration.

He did this yearly, and lived a much more free and fulfilling life than the corruption many of us live through every day. He died doing what he loved. He didn’t die doing what he loved, doing what he loved caused him to die. Getting intoxicated and screwing around in freezing waters has some pretty obvious consequences but he did it anyways to entertain. Noble? maybe. Seems a tragic loss of life to me.

He shouldn't be going into icy waters for the appeasement of his fans because if they really cared about him as a human being they would discourage reckless behavior. His content did a lot for people, he will be remembered through the smiles he made through his videos. If anyone ever got a chance to join one of his livestream's they truly were something special. No one compared made content like him.

Literally for the past 6 years this man has lingered in the back of my mind since day 1 and I’m only now finding this out this is devastating but I’m so glad that he was doing what gave him the feeling that he chased every day
