Great video, recently started creating survival content on KZread, South African here and the economy can make things challenging, along with being a family man I may have to wait for some time before getting a good lighting kit. Priorities and all. One of the best styled how-to videos I've seen on this topic. Awesome!

Use a table lamp covered with paper, shining on you from overhead, slightly off centre. Use a aluminum foil pasted on thermocol, fixed to a coat hanger stand, reflecting off the table lamp, for diffused fill in light. No color errors then. Mighty inexpensive too 😇

@@snowelladash9234 If it's yellow that means it's a low kelvin bulb. Maybe try buying a higher kelvin bulb with the same socket and wattage rating. Individual bulbs cost around $1-5

The bit when you talk about where light comes from, very thoughtful, don't be afraid of those kind of thoughts - it's philosophy, and no one knows what they're talking about really: have fun with it!

This video had really helpful information about things to consider while thinking of lighting set-up! I have been filming with natural daylight so far but due to uni/work and nowadays the sun-setting at like 3:00 pm I do not have a big time window to film, so looking into getting lights. I am really tight on budget so I have no idea what I will end up getting, looking into DIY-ing my light set-up if I cannot find anything cheap and good 😅

For low budget, absolutely natural window light and also the lamps you might already have around the house. A common desk lamp angled at your face off to the side is a dramatic improvement to a top down ceiling light.
