I keep being recommended Christian or right leaning conspiracy theory shorts and I don’t like that shit. I keep checking off these channels as ‘do not recommended or show’. It’s getting really annoying.

I definitely appreciate the tightness of your scripts. Can’t do much about the algorithm but hopefully a steadily growing sub count is a sign you’ve got something valuable to say.

James Summerton felt like the platonic ideal of this "bloated youtube essayist" in every sense of that phrase. He ticks all the boxes: ✅️ Overlong videos ✅️ Pointless shots of him talking at the camera and reading his (stolen) script. ✅️ Stock B roll instead of footage relevant to the argument. ✅️ Making shit up for his stories ✅️ Peddling conspiracy theories.

I'm pretty sure that it is a lot easier to communicate an idea using voice, body language, and facial expressions than simply using just voice. In a similar way to how its easier to communicate an idea using voice rather than just text, although maybe not quite to that extent.

In my opinion, I think there's a middle ground between "Straight to the point" and "Tosses you around for 10 minutes talking about random stuff" that needs to be reached. Having a straight, to the point video is good for information, but I can only think of a few examples of that format being done in a way that has me coming back to the video to rewatch it (ala Destiny 1 Datto exotic videos, something about 'em just hits different). On the other hand, I have thorough experience with having to play chicken with the "when will the funny youtube man stop talking about random stuff and get to what I'm hear to hear about" with raid guides and like almost every Warframe video I've watched. I'm personally trying to concept out and perfect a storyline-video essay hybrid format to use in my own content. Having a 65/35 split of video essay to story is the main idea to achieve that balance between Too Little and Too Much, and in an enjoyable way that isn't the typical filler to pad runtime.

Yeah I strongly agree, and is something that I've been wanting to change in my future videos. I've been really strict on my script writing because I don't want to waste people's time. I'd super recommend Internet Shaquille 's videos if you like quality straight to the point content. He even made a video about how he makes his videos.

nahh, Cyberpunk had a core gameplay loop that worked. Bethesda basically gutted their usual loop by forcing you to open a menu and fast travel whenever you wanted to “explore.” they’d basically have to make a new game to fix it, along with all the other immersion/narrative problems.

I like videos that explain the context but not to the point of making fucking 15m documentary on the whole history and then get to the actual talking point. Also everyone should underastand that both Cyberpunk and Starfield were early access for full price, and no the dev lead up time doesn't matter. PS what size water bottles youre assuming? here its almost always 1.5l and thats too much even for me.
