This is exactly what my car looked like my senior year in high school (1979)l. Same color with a chrome trunk mounted luggage rack. Black convertible power top with a glass back window. Mine had a little 318 3 speed. I swapped in a pistol grip and a 4-speed from an AAR CUDA that was being parted out. Though I never installed the fog lights, grill, bumper or hood from the Cuda. Of all the cars I've had, that little Barracuda convertible was my favorite. I wish I'd never sold it. What a beautiful car! Thank you for sharing and restoring these significant gems of Automotive History.

My senior year is every day now lol, but 1969 is when I graduated from High School. Senior year I could afford a new car like this, BUT, the insurance company wanted as much as the manufacturer. I remember my step father had a 318 automatic in a 60 Plymouth Fury. The 318 was a good engine but not for a Plymouth Fury.

Back in the day when I was 18 young and dumb, I had a 69 road runner black with buck skin interior. 383 4 Speed pistol grip gosh wish I still had that like I said young and dumb, now I’m 66 yeah wish I still had a road runner

I like Mark, his wit is hilarious as hell and I would never mind being the recipient, I would smile and learn. He has a lot of knowledge and his son-in-law would have a terrific future if he would just loosen up and learn.
