Mark, send that guy the jacket, a couple of t-shirts, a ball cap and the other 500.00. He served our country for crying out loud and were it not for the damage he would have easily sold that car in todays market for 20k

That roof held up pretty well considering. My Uncle has an '87 Chevy R20 Scottsdale. We had a record ice storm in late Autumn long before the trees would start shedding their leaves. There are two massive pecan trees next to the shop/garage. One lost two of its biggest branches due to the extreme weight of the ice compounded by the leaves (they would've never snapped if they had no leaves). The biggest one came down right over the pickup and the car port. The roof took a direct hit, causing the branch to snap in half (which was three feet wide at that point). The center of the roof was pushed down about a foot and none of the glass ever cracked or shattered. The top section of the rear panel was pulled forward, but never broke the seal of the rear window. The top edges of the door frames were pulled towards the center but did not break seal of the doors. That roof was stout! If the pickup hadn't been there, the car port and my Uncle's '89 Pontiac 6000 LE would've been pancaked. If it had been a more modern pickup, the roof would be on the floorboard of the cab! The other branch came down towards the front side of the pickup and car port. Fortunately, it didn't hit them, but did take out the power lines for the house and shop/garage. I purchased the pickup afterwards since my Uncle can no longer drive due to health issues. I've had people tell me that only way to fix the roof on the pickup is to swap the cab. 🙄 Of course they were trying to set me up to sell cheap so they can fix it for themselves. Well, my 20 years as an Air Force Vehicle Mechanic made me wise to the morons who try to scam people. So I would tell them exactly how the roof can be fixed and there is absolutely no reason to swap the cab. And it's not for sale. It is mine and I'm going to fix it because I have always wanted a classic squarebody pickup. Especially a long bed with the heavy duty package (learned about that when we were replacing the front rotors.....heavy duty package had bigger rotors).

Once the car is disassembled for a repaint, the repairs need done. Hasn't run since 91 probably gonna need engine work. Mark you bought it right. Especially you. You are a restoration shop people don't comprehend the cost of parts and even materials these days.

Not really taking advantage. The extensive work the car needs he got a deal but it is a strip car and not a 60s super bee.

I remember a 68 Charger always parked in this driveway on the way to the corner store. One day it was gone. Months later I saw I off a curve on a side road but the car had cleared the ditch and was on someone’s front lawn.

I used to park next to a kids '68 charger in high school, in the early 90's. He lived just the next town over. IIRC he was selling it for around 10k. Looked used but very good. It had a 440 but wasn't an r/t so it must to had an engine swap. Could of just been an original 318 car I suppose. My folks had one when I was a baby. Mom slid off the road in the winter, ran into a poll and I ended up on the floor. Too poor for a baby seat I guess lol. That was back when they were just "old junk used cars".

There's no way he stole that car for $5,500 lol but it makes for good tv. With the internet, everyone and their brother can find a cars ballpark value inside an hour and narrow it right down within a couple hundred bucks within three or four haha. He wouldn't give her away like that. This is cool though, another episode I missed somehow. I'm sure they used such low numbers like that, to help show their not really disclosing the info to the public 5k as is/ 15k if it didn't have a crushed roof haha! Yeah sure, like we can buy all original and well documented super bees like that with 20k miles for 15k hahahaha. We all wish.;) Mark wouldn't have a business if that was anywhere near true. :D

Owner doesn’t seem to value it. Why doesn’t he pay to fix it up? Shame it has a crushed roof. Roof is an easy fix. Talk about low balling. Better to repair it then sell it. Robbery at $5500 because without it they have nothing.

Truth be told that's probably more than what that old guy paid for that car when he bought it new get on him I'm glad he got his money back it should be a very nice car when it's done and you know it'll probably be worth three to four times that much

Gee, I'd give 5,500 for that car. My Cuda was straight but had a ton of rust, missing the whole front-end etc. I've spent nearly 10k in new AMD sheet metal and bumpers etc.

Mark went out there gushing about this car and then realized that it needed extensive work. The roof is a major part of the car and he will need to blend a new roof in with the quarter panels or replace the quarter panels. The door is another issue. Also, the car is absolutely featureless. No AC, no power brakes, no power steering, no power windows.

I'd also suggest to remove the big banners that were added on at the bottom of the screen, e.g. when showing the different cuda cars at the beginning. Hides details, takes real estate and does not bring value to the audience.
