I remember I commented on a video and 3 seconds later, every comment had 3/4 bot comments replying to them. And I tried reporting them and refreshing the comments didn't work. (Back to when you could refresh comments on mobile. ) It used to let me do that and they wouldn't appear again.

Finally someone's talking about this in a video. I have been noticing this and other similar bot-related issues on this platform for a really long time and try to report as many as possible but I know it hardly makes any difference. Until KZread decides to install better moderation features to remove the obvious bots, there isn't much we can do other than report as many as possible. As for those who comment with the sole purpose to divert viewers to their channels, they genuinely annoy me a lot because it's pretty clear that they bought subscribers when you check their upload history and the type of "content" that they upload. I love checking out smaller creators from time to time to support those who put hours into videos for little to no viewer retention and these people come along with their fat stacks, buy subscribers and then climb comment sections with the same comment posted over and over again. Most of the time they don't even bother watching the video. It's good that most people on KZread however realize this and try to avoid such channels. As long the majority stays sane, KZread will be alright.

The fact that the bots are even saying something about his late father is disgusting. Really sorry to all the creators out there, the fact that we can't really fix it ourselves is really frustrating.

You really hit the nail on the head at 10:10. It'd be nice to get advice or leave feedback without having to deal with spam, or being buried in spam, or having to wade through the spam just to find a golden nugget of a comment. KZread really needs to pull their finger out and do something about this bot issue instead of crippling important features such as practically disabling the dislike button and allowing scams to run rampant. It really got under my skin when I saw all those hurtful comments about you on just about every other video I clicked. We have different types of spam comments on our channel (as well as many of the same inappropriate ones you have pointed out). Some people bot song requests and likes (evident by the time posted and the consistent number of likes on requests that are patently obscure/unpopular). It's annoying because we used to be able to gauge what people wanted to hear from the comments, but we no longer can because of the spam. We even tried making some of the requests to see if there really was that much interest in some of these tracks... ...there was not. All the best man.

It is so nice to see someone finally speaking about this, it's such a disappointment to try to interact and engage with the community and every single time you just have to sort through so many bots/spam troll accounts. While I do hope they fix this soon somehow, I think you could add moderators to the channel, I have no idea if you already did that, but having some people taking care of the comments or at least taking a look at them after a couple hours the video was uploaded could really help!

I remember commenting on a video a while ago talking about how much your content has helped me during some of the hardest times in my life and I got so overwhelmed by bots replying I just deleted it

I can’t believe how calm and desensitized Jack is to this kind of stuff. Especially the stuff about his dad. For one I can’t believe anyone would say anything like that and the fact that Jack doesn’t even wince at it is really sad. It shows how often he gets comments and replies like that. I really hope that all of this gets fixed, not just for our sake but for people like Jack as well.

I agree, the fact that some legitemate verified creators get hate for commenting on videos because of the bots and abuse that happens with the system is just sad

I like how Jack shines light on issues with this with a certain level of humour to it.

The fact that I have a SMALL channel and I still deal with bots... means there is obviously an issue that KZread needs to address. They want to censor us as to what we can say but they don't do anything about sex bots in the comments sections. It's really getting out of hand tbh.

Hey Sean! (or jack whichever you prefer) dude, to be honest I’ve tried to be a content creator it kinda faded though I’m trying again but haven’t found time to post but anyways! You have been doing an outstanding job pushing through this crap!!! If KZread won’t take care of the real problem I find some of us should be taking it into our own hands for our channels and our younger (and older!) viewers! Your doing great man! I hope it gets better here on out!

It sucks that this has ruined Jack's experience of interacting with your audience and I really hope that KZread does something to fix it. I always still leave comments anyway, just in case the creator does happen to look and needs some genuine comments to show how much their content is appreciated. The spam about Jack's dad is the only thing that really gets to me because it's straight up gross and the absolute worst part of the internet. Hopefully it reaches a point where he is able to go through and enjoy the feedback again, and gets to see that there are real fans still here who just want to let him know that his hard work is so appreciated!

Spammers/bots don't have a platform to reach a larger targeted audience over a content creator, who's in direct communication with their audience. KZread will have many detectable scripts/programs in place to catch a large majority of these bots. But just like most things, there's going to be those that slip through the cracks. Just as with games that will always have bugs and cheaters.

@@ZeonEons that's very true, but KZread doesn't seem to care about having this be "a family friendly platform" (their justification for the restrictions on CCs) if their system is so lax that it could let things like this happen. Say what you want about Instagram, but they have a comment and post limit, and are pretty good about detecting and surpressing bots. YT is and has been a huge hypocrite, and it's very frustrating

KZread has a track record of never addressing serious issues until they are borderline canceled for it, or a giant youtuber calls them out. That seems to work 25% of the time.

I’m SO glad someone is FINALLY talking about this. The amount of bullsh*t bot comments are ATROCIOUS along with the fact that KZread doesn’t do anything. I’m not sure where they started but I’ve seen them heavily on MatPat’s channels and Mark’s channel using channel names to call out the specific KZreadr.

I haven't watched your content in years, used to be a huge fan, I came back for some nostalgia and have really enjoyed watching some of your videos but I'm heartbroken to hear that the reading your comments series has ended. It sucks that the problems with youtube's algorithm has ended the interaction which was one of the best things about his channel. no hate to you jack. I know it's youtube's fault and would love to see google fix their site so that youtubers are able to interact with their subscribers

It's sickening that people think it's OK to talk about Jack's dad. As someone who lost their dad, seeing something like that would infuriate and hurt me. I'm so sorry you are going through this. They're either out to directly ruin the community, or to attract at least some people to go click on their porn websites or whatever... You know, I think they're mostly there to make a point about how shit the KZread system is, and also just to harass the top creators.

It’s much worser when it gets repeated among other platforms as well, it’s the worst offender and something needs to be reworked about the way KZread is handling the system in general. But, it’s not just KZread, it’s the entire social media platform system that need a change to address the problem. Sooner or later, it needs to happen or content is just not fun anymore

I still remember how upset I was when I first saw one saying horrible shit about Jack's dad. It's so frustrating that KZread seemingly isn't making the spam problem a priority.

The first time I saw it I went mental. I agree with you so much, the main thing with the comments is some of them are kids and they don’t know better but when it’s about the death of his father it goes too far.

What'd they say?? And why would they say something bad about his dad!? Especially since he passed away.. nobody knows him and especially if they DID know him they'd never say anything bad.. bothers me so much, just random people saying awful things about his father for NO reason 😖

@@rae7864 That's what their saying. They make fun about his dad passing away and it's been going on for a long time. It's a bot system and I guess they think it's funny when in reality their just being dicks. Hopefully one day youtube will actually do things to improve the user experience and control the bad actors who do things like this. Would be nice if they would implement some kind of connection ban for consistent IPs and stuff. Like if it's some kid thinking he's cool creating bot messages harassing someone and making fun of their dead dad then permaban his hardware.

What is this about his dad?. I don’t watch him anymore. I stopped some time back. He use to be down to earth, but when he blew up and got big he changed and not for the better!.

It's sad that Jack has gotten desensitized to people being mean like that. We are in a world where people will berate people to get attention. I can't imagine how much jack has been through. I can't help but worry about his mental health. I hope the bots leave Jack alone. He doesn't deserve it. He inspired so many of us, he gave a lot of us entertainment. Some of you grew up on amazing people like Jack. Jack if you're reading this (which I doubt that's understandable) please take care of yourself. You don't deserve any of these bots or their bs. This is so true… I hate that KZread has been harassing KZreadrs who don’t have family friendly content or those who have content that looks like it’s supposed to be family friendly and are having their videos taken down, just to have way worse bots who resemble a swarming hoard of wasps. I hate wasps.

The hypocrisy of KZread saying this is a family friendly place and accounts like what Jack has brought up is amazing.
