My bet is that the Illuminates from the first galactic war come back and attack before we can finish this major order and Super Earth cancels the current Major Order to defend against the Illuminates which'll allow the automatons to push back, it seems way too early for the automatons to fall

I doubt they’ll be gone for long. They’re a popular faction to fight against and just had new content added to them. Something tells me they’ll be back with a vengeance very soon or something will stop us from beating them completely.

This weekly recap makes me feel proud to be a Helldiver. I love the lore workaround for game balance changes! Makes it really immersive. And having a weekly report is motivating. Look at what we accomplished fellow Divers! Tibit is missing less than 5% to be fully liberated. The automatons have only Durgen left to crawl away in fear. TOMORROW WE PUSH ONWARD! Tibit has been liberated. My squad's last mission there saw it tick to 100% and we were pleasantly surprised, so operations on Durgen have re-commenced

i would love to see more stuff like this in-game. having a weekly 2-3 minute video giving the status of the war front would really sell the immersion and likely wouldn't take a ton of resources to create

Its the best thing as community for years

I was at Ubanea and had just cleared a mission when we were cut off at 97% liberation. I fought on Draupnir and kept an ever pensive stare at Ubanea as it slowly, but surely dropped it's liberation counter. It only made me spill oil harder. When we finally got it back, I knew we weren't gonna get Tibit (which I call "Barbie Beach Resort Planet"), but saw we were liberating The Creek. I couldn't help myself and went there cuz we were going to fail the Major Order, but BY LIBERTY we were taking the Creek. I didn't get to enlist before it first fell, but I enlisted exactly to take it back for all the Divers lost. By Liberty, we did it... We spilt oil. And we're still spilling it! UNTIL THE VERY LAST DROP!

If the 50k creekers at the time had just stopped mindlessly grinding away at a .4% gain per hour and helped us we would have liberated Ebanea. Cutting off the invasion of Draupnir. Even if it went though with the supply lines cut at least we would own Ubanea and would not have to finish liberating it having lost almost 15% of the meter since it decayed while retaking Drapnir. We could have won phase 2. Creekers cost us that by being stubborn mindless drones that could not even liberate the prize they have been endlessly throwing bodies at for weeks. Truly terrible divers.

@@keeganmullarky5227 Although the fight for Malevelon Creek was a valiant one, it wasn't exactly strategic for the major order. If Ebanea had been liberated, Malevelon Creek would've followed quickly, as the automatons would be scrambling to retake Ebanea, in defense of Tibit. The attack on Draupnir would've also been cut off. I respect your sense of duty to fight for the Creek, but in the grand scheme of things, a successful phase 2 would've been much more substantial.

IMPORTENT NEWS FROM THE MINUSTRY OF TRUTH: the automatons have been pushed back from the galaxy with their defeat we have achieved a truly great victory spread the news

When I signed up to be a Helldiver I thought it was just killing bugs, and it was. It was like a child hood dream! Crushing bugs for fun and I enjoyed it. But then when I was ordered to be deployed on Malevelon Creek I just thought it was going to be a normal bug squishing routine, oh boy I was wrong. When I was deployed I realized these were not bugs...They were killer robots. All of a sudden my squad was ambushed by a Automaton patrol and were completely unprepared and caught by surprise. I was the only one who lived I wanted to give up...But I couldn't. I couldn't just go back to Super Earth and say I failed no.....I wanted to succeed, with my squad dead and with me being a one man army, I decided to stealthily kill and complete the remaining missions. By the time I got back I was praised as a hero.

Never before have I felt more informed on the galactic war. I just found this channel today. Amazing scripting!

Anyone concerned that with the Automatons looking like they could be wiped out that Joel will reveal the Illuminate to draw diver attention? Though I suppose he could just as easily pull something with the terminids or reveal more bot stuff

Imagine just nothing for like a solid week to month. Keep us on our toes, sprinkle some leaks in games here and there and let us find out. Dude id love that. Cuz just bringing out the Illuminate is incredibly predictable. What id love is like a social Planet or msth to give the Helldivers a well deserved front-line leave. I really want them to get creative with this shit. The more confusing the better.

Perhaps they'll introduce rebellious worlds. The idea being that some federation worlds will spontaneously develop a rebel fighter group which will move to "free" the planet from federation control. I think it could be good to shake up the way the hell divers play by introducing intelligent enemies that use actual human tactics to win fights.

Is adding a new faction really necessary at this point? It seems like focusing on the Automatons has reduced pressure on the Terminids. If they have cross-galaxy intelligence on the battles in the galactic west, the Terminids could just let the situation lie while the forces of Super Earth really commit to a final push against the Automatons. Putting your enemy into a situation where they really want to succeed at some specific goal and will have to give up on that goal to stop you is how you get exploitable hesitation. I would just expect the Terminids to let the Helldivers continue to hold the last two worlds while building up a surplus of war materiel. Then, once a large enough force is available, reinforce everything 1 FTL link away from those last two worlds and push the humans off of them. If it's possible, then keep pushing and go for a foothold in Super-Earth territory.

I love all the in universe explanations you come up with for bug fixes and nerfs. Very clever. Keep up the great work

Having been away from the Termanid Front for a while due to work, it seems that I must return to fight the bugs once again. Maybe I should put together a large force that can focus on the Termanid front and free up other HellDivers to fight The Legion

Love stuff like this. Relatively small game studio sticking to their guns and making a massive hit, a tactical layer making each battle count and then vids like this getting stuck into the lore. It's like Pathe or something

Liberating malevolon creek on April 1st was the best thing ever. Now, creekers will have to find a new battle to build their personality around. Although I’m sure they’ll just keep bringing up the creek, especially when on forested planets.

As of right now Tibit is almost liberated.

Stopping the bot scum from leaking into Vandalon IV was such a thrill. Shame we weren't able to take Tibit in time. I'm curious what more intel we could have gained from that.

Me and a group of randoms and eventually some friends helped capture Maia and helped a bit to do some missions on Tibit

There is an evac shuttle in the building they run into, it's a bit more clear on the 40 minute evac missions.

I love the way all the buffs and nerfs are explained in lore.

I remember being at MAIA and seeing my first giant walker. By the end of it there was 3 in the same mission. It was satisfying to see full liberation of the planet after that mission.
