They're abuse victims as much as the people they abuse. Their cognitive distortions are engrained through abuses that caused a dysfunctional cluster b personality type. Do they intentionally seek revenge on things they perceive as harmful? Sure. Most people do perpetrate similar behaviors, even healthy "normal" individuals. What my sister helped to do to me is shocking and she's still doing stuff

Its a parent on my end and been gaslit by the husband which was never good enough for her but she put me and my sis at younger age on the backend for this loser she married and here we are still treated like second class citizens by her and the loser, her own flesh and blood traded for a what was at the time just a lover. I honestly think all the time she helped us when we'd be down or didn't have much was a guilt trip and or guilty conscious had nothing to do with actually loving us and doing it because of that was more a act of kindness which anybody can do, hell I'd give a homeless guy couple bucks and a bottled water on hot summer day out the *kindness of my heart, doesn't mean i love the guy, straight up made us feel like charity case, so efed up.

Past trauma, whether being self inflicted or from some other source has helped contribute to me feeling like what I have. I don't feel I deserve the things I have. I feel like my family does deserve the things we've accumulated. It's almost like the first 34 years of my life living reckless out weighs the 3 or 4 years that I've made my best effort to build a life with my family. You have to keep in mind that as much as these narcs think they know and probably do, they don't know everything. Read the whole book twice. Then sleep on it. Wake up, and read it again before you judge someone. Some damage due to trauma and addiction may never heal.
