Your Niche is Being Yourself

A lot of people struggle to start making content because they feel like they need a "niche" that they can build an audience around. While having a niche to start in is a good idea, your niche doesn't have to be one topic. Your niche can be the collection of things you are interested in blended into your unique perspective. It doesn't have to be just football or just music, but rather the crossroads between the two.

Gary, I am literally crying right now watching this. As a women, who has been told her whole life (27) "why can't you just pick one thing? why do you like so many things, You won't ever be successful if you can't do one thing well" I spend time "finding your niche" feeling overwhelmed and defeated and like something is wrong with me. :( In my life, I've been a dancer, singer, podcaster, photographer, creator, and so much more but I AM ME. I love you so much!

It’s so crazy how relevant this is to my life right now. I’ve spent 5 years trying to find a niche to begin a podcast around and I kept thinking there’s nothing specifically that I love so much that I only want to talk about that topic. Last week it occurred to me that my “jack of all trades way of life” doesn’t work for most things but can definitely work in producing content. Come to find out today, this was a niche the whole time 😂

This was HUGE for me. I’ve actually DMd Gary a few times regarding this question. I’m a coach who helps people build wealth around their passions (can be anyone of any age) but some of my other friends who are coached in sales keep telling me I need to stick to just one area (I teach people finances, fitness, and psychology as it’s all related to achieving your potential). They keep telling me I need to super niche - i.e 40-55yr olds looking for one specific thing so I can charge 2-3k/mo (high ticket sales). I always appreciate their advice but just focusing on one little thing has always been hard.. I have so much to offer and always felt just being me is the right move. This verified it. Thanks Gary

That's why you gotta find the "niche" that attracts people. If i was a celebrity and famous, i won't need to find my niche, this is where Gary Vee's advice applies. Just be you. But i feel like until then, you gotta have to find the right topic that people are interested in.

this is deep, i've been fighting myself by asking wtf am i gonna do with my social media, and i was like "oh i will pick this niche" and 30 mins later "dang, im not expert at all" and changing it again and again. Im stuck in this circle. what i got from this is you can actually put a label on yourself like entrepreneur just like gary v, so that people can remember you with such label, but for contents, you can do whatever you want with your style. There;s a damn famous youtuber in my country, he was a math student, he is totally smart, he went to japan for college and do youtube stuff filming himself doing his work, playing with his friends, visiting places, vlog, etc. but still he has the label as the "math person", now he is successful as hell, he has beverage business with over 125 outlet now less than a year if im not mistaken.

I love the positive energy of this video as well as the inspiring message conveyed. After many years in business I am once again changing path and was focusing too much on one niche and hitting a wall. This has helped me to look at the broader picture and work within my own authenticity. Thank you Gary

Amazing! This is something I've been struggling to figure out in the past 6 months. I've come to a similar conclusion to what Gary's saying, so am working to stay somewhat broad, but having consistency by bringing through my perspective on life through the lens of my eye. It's still "in work" as I try to produce consistently, but this really helps me feel I'm not wrong about my choice

This is great advice. However, the way I tackled this in my own business is finding a common denominator to all the things I'm interested in. So it's usually the big "WHY" that drives me to do what I do and that's usually what eventually attracts like-minded audience to what I do. Interesting stuff

The fact you can have a random fan jump in the back of the car and have a "meeting" (an actual meeting that doesn't need 30 to 60 god damn minutes). But to drop an internship because of a gut feeling is what speaks volumes to me. Cool shit!

The mindset this video depicts is literally why I put my name in my channel name and in my gamertag. I also do it as a courtesy to anyone subbing because I don't want them to be shook if they see me playing something out of what I'm typically creating content around.
