I had this same idea last year traveling around China but came to the early conclusion that the heavy electric motor and battery pack would make this suitcase heavy. If there is a number one deal breaker on a suitcase purchase it is weight. Who would carry an extra 3 - 5 kg in order to move it automatic? How much would this increase air travel carbon footprint if millions of passengers would start using it?

Need this for a Trashcan...something you won't worry about getting stolen and can go to the curb when it's raining, cold, and you don't feel like lugging it out.

Danyal Ahmad exactly! I worked at the local airport for three years and half a dozen people told me their bags got stolen. that's the first thing I thought of. they need to put a stunner in it to zap theives

Zapping thieves is kind of on the extreme side but they will have to be extremely creative if they want people to buy this thing. Nobody wants to spend $300 on a suitcase so that they could lose everything they put inside. I'm pretty surprised that you have only had half a dozen people get their luggage stolen in 3 years. I would expect it to be half a dozen each month!

It's a fake and fraudulent site because I paid $ 1,100 for one bag price five months ago and I did not get anything

I can see this being stolen many times especially since we are the generation of phone geeks. I can also see this causing law suits with people tripping over it while it's behind it's owner...Cool idea tho.

Modobag has made sure that their product gets accepted on flights. It's not rocket science, of course a company will take care of that before selling you their product.

Seems strange. TSA will have a nightmare with these "devices" with the electrical components, batteries, what if the battery catches fire on flight? what kind of batteries are they? How large is the inside component, how heavy is the bag? Whats the batter life? What about the bags falling from an escalator, will the components and motors survive? What about liquid spillage? I think this is a good start, but I fear there are a ton of challenges that they will need to overcome.

Greedy muthafuckas more than doubled all the price from 500-700 to 1100-1500!! They know technology like this is gonna be selling at Ross in 5 years for under $200 and instead of being mainstream now with fair pricing, they prefer to remain niche and then get wiped out by a larger manufacturer in a few years!
