I fall asleep to this song on repeat almost every night. When I have anxiety this song reminds me of how great our God is and I shouldn't fear anything. Oh how He loves us even when we don't deserve it at times. Thank you Cory for this song. It's gotten me through alot.

This song pulled me out if a very dark place I was in and I will be forever grateful this song was written. not to mention Cory Asbury showed up at my church months after I stumbled upon this song and I told him my story and he laid hands on me and prayed. thank u Cory u will forever be in my heart.

Holy Spirit never lets go of your hand, but our senses lie to us. think back when you hold your hand under hot water and it feels ice cold, or cold water and it feels burning hot. So he says when the anxiety wells up like a tsunami and tries to freeze you or make you drop everything and run to hide...Instead, grab hold of a memory of the time you felt safe, happy or loved. Bring up Every single detail you can to make the image more concrete. think of the smells, sounds, the lighting, the people who were with you and bring you the joy... rehearse it, dwell there, soak up the sensations that brought you the joy...it will actually release more dopamine and calm you...drenching you in the strength of the LORD...and freeing your heart and mind from the panic. The enemy wants you to quit, he wants to take you out any way he can...and if he make us hyperventilate with fear...he won't stop. So flight him with the tools at hand....Joy in the Lord's steady faithful rock-like nature. If he made you safe yesterday, he will do it again today! He provided the sunlight the oxygen, the place for you to be here now, and he isn't done with you if you still have another breath or heartbeat, another word to share or artistic endeavor to publish - song, dance, joke...poem. So remember our emotions can lie to us just like our sensation of touch... and when they try to freeze you or make you uncomfortable...Holy Spirit will bring comfort and angels will remind you of the good things to anchor to.

can someone please expand on the "your love vanquished all my enemies" line? yes, king david says something like that in the psalms but he's literally talking about warfare. god loves you, but that doesn't mean he'll take out all your "enemies". so many talented musicians at ihop/bethel, but i wish their theology was more rigorous.

sefik polat impossible to know the artist's original intention without asking them, but yes God's love has vanquished our enemies. Now it could depend on how you define "enemy", I doubt its talking about our everyday person that comes against us, but rather against our spiritual enemies. When Jesus went into the grave he defeated death and made a way for us to know Him - all for love! Our enemy, being Satan and his army of demons, is defeated in Jesus name! That also means that the things that come against us today - fear, depression, guilt, shame, anxiety, etc etc - are defeated in Jesus name! They have no more true hold over us when we have Him on our side!

They are talented mainly because of God's anointing in their lives.. You can describe love as what Christ did on the cross. Because of that we r conquerors through Him..

I think anything that tries to rein in place of God in our lives, FEAR, wounds...lies... these are all against our relationship with him...Just as if you were married and your spouse thinks about another 24/7, that would be an "enemy" to your closeness and trying to supplant your spot in their heart... so too, life has a way of trying to pull us away form the first things first of kingdom living...and so with the Help of Holy Spirit and bible, we wash the dirt our of our minds, and restore right balance and healthy relationship to Father and to others. Even false humility is an enemy to God's plans, in that we need confidence to be bold and live and shine they way he designed us...and in that way I know the Joy in the LORD defeats those things that try to pervert usor sway us out of his hands. HUGZ
