Your host to discovering the coast of Maine | Schooner Stephen Taber

Get a glimpse of what it's like to get off the grid and out on the waters of Maine during a three-night trip in October.
Small fishing villages, brisk sailing powered only by the wind and currents, puffin and other Atlantic wildlife sightings, fresh oysters delivered directly to the boat, evening gatherings by lantern.
Originally aired 18 November 2019 on WCVB Channel 5 as part of its Chronicle series.

Spent a week on her back in ‘21. Going back in ‘24. This video actually undersells the experience.

Noah and Jane Barnes are still welcoming guest with generosity and panache on Stephen Tabor and sailing Penobscot Bay. I am not a shill but a frequent and grateful guest. It is a life changing way of living and of being.

The food is amazing. The experience of being on the water was amazing. The guest Capt and his family on my cruise were warm and welcoming. The Barnes family didn't give me an impression that they cared about their guests. Capt Barnes came on the boat the night before we left and spent some time speaking and laughing with the guest Capt. After he left, I asked and found out who he was. I would have liked to meet him. But he didn't even bother to say hi to the collective group. On the cruise I slipped and fell. Ended up with a massive black eye and the crew was concerned I had a concussion. Never heard one word of concern from the Barnes family.

Wouldn't say equally hard working. The workers in the past were reeeeally hard working and modern humans we like our tech to make things easier
