Qualio Website: www.qualioaudio.com
The Qualio IQ Ultra Speakers have been in my space for some time now and these are three way hybrid speakers. Partially open baffle with the Satori midrange and Ant Super Tweeter up top with a large Satori bass driver in the beautiful cabinet underneath.
The Top panel which is made of plexiglass gives the illusion that the upper drivers are floating in the room. These are also dipole which means the sound emits from the front of the drivers as well as the back, bringing more music and air to the room. This creates a huge soundstage with pinpoint imaging and layering. What these can do in the room is nothing short of extraordinary.
These are audiophile high end speakers that can and do compete with other speakers in the $30k price range. I never heard anything like this and in this review I speak of the unboxing, the set up, the listening experience and I compare them to other speakers I have and own.
The Qualio IQ Review is HERE! Enjoy!
Enjoy!

  • @HiFiHuff

    @HiFiHuff

    13 күн бұрын

    Three years ago I reviewed the LaScala and loved them. I still do love them. At that time they were up there with the best I’ve heard and still are. I’ve updated on those in a few reviews since. They were wayyyy too big for my room - couldn’t keep them as they were too hard to disassemble and move every time I had a review speaker come in. Love the LaScala but they are not the best ever. The best doesn’t exist in audio. There is a best for me, for you, but not for all. I describe what they sound like and what the experience is like. That’s what I do. Doesn’t mean there aren’t other speakers that are just as awesome. All speakers sound different and these sound nothing like the LaScala. They have bass, the LaScalas weak point as I said was and is the bass. Also the size for some rooms. I have about a dozen faves when it comes to speakers and to be a fave of mine they must have delivered a special memory to me. I’ll never forget the LaScalas but that review was a long while ago. I do reviews and things move forward: These are just as big and open sounding as the LaScala with less color in the mids. The bass on the IQ is in another league but the LaScala has its own charms. Depends on the sound you are looking for. LaScala will always be in my top ten, as will these. As will the OGY and BOB, which has been a year since they became my reference (and still are).

    I knew Qualio would impress you. The Ultra is quite bit spendy than Standard, the difference being mainly crossover parts quality, so one could start with the Standard and gradually upgrade the parts. Or... capable builders could DIY these without passive crossover and go fully active. If done well, that approach could even exceed the passives!

    Hi, because of open baffle I ask myself if they could lack of up-bass punch (kick bass). But this is also a very important part of musical fun and in most open-baffle concepts it is not discussed. What they give is low bass performance but very low bass is not what is most interessting when listening music (from my experience) Is it like that?

    @@deanbrandon3615 the triangles are indeed beautiful and wonderful but the IQs are not even close to being to large for my 13x18 room. I had issues with the bass of the Borresen x2 but these are so pure sounding, very live sounding and very composed and delicate at times. These would work well in smaller rooms than mine. So do the triangles. Not so with the X2 imo. I fixed the x2 issues in my room with the footers and love them as well. Anyway, thanks for watching. Appreciate it.

    My room is far from being fully treated. I actually had it treated and then removed the garbage that was put up as the room sounded dead. I prefer natural treatment like furniture, rugs, pillows, etc. those panels you see on my wall were $50 on Amazon. They don’t do much of anything nor did they change the sound. All you need is some natural treatments. Window shades, rugs, etc. enough to deaden any liveliness but not too much that it deadens the acoustics.
