This was played as our beloved 27 year old grandson lay dying holding his mother's (my daughter's) hand. I had never heard it before she told me and I can see that this is a goodbye song. Nine months later, I still miss him and can cry at the drop of a hat. He had been in trauma unit at Vanderbilt and was moved into palliative care so he could die. It breaks my heart. If only you knew him.He was a leader, a drummer, a thoughtful young man, Sgt Ethan Allen Walker V. Ethan!

This song reminds me of lying out under the stars with friends. We weren't saying a word but it was one of the more gorgeous experiences of my life.

Explosions In The Sky is undoubtedly one of the most underrated bands of all time, they're so fucking amazing. I can't even explain the way their music makes me feel, I put it on and listen for hours, it sort of in a way makes me drift away into my own little world. it's indescribable.

Makes me think of my happiest and saddest times all at once. Truly beautiful.

I think what I like most about Explosions in the Sky, is that when you're listening to them, whether they are your favorite band or not, you remember what music is about. Music is about creative expression, and EITS has an innate ability to remind us of that. Brilliance.

having 3 electric guitars going in one song is almost impossible to pull off without producing the raucous sound but EITS always does it so well..they're on a different planet of music. very underrated, love these guys.

I started listening to EITS when the movie 'Friday Night Lights' came out... since then, I've seen 'em live once (life changing) and I've listened to them countless times... Their music always sets my soul straight...

Exactly. I've never felt this way ever before about music or band. I'm quite shy and anti-social so I don't go to gigs, but one dream I have and it is that I would have the guts to go to EITS show and listen them live. They were supposed to come to my country but they had to cancel it because family matters, not that I would had the guts to go see them but anyways. Maybe one day. This would be the one thing I wouldn't want to miss in my life.

FNL is a fantastic show....first got into it by listening to the theme on the adverts...and then listening to the whole song....as others have said it just stirs up the emotions, troubles, dreams, and inspirations that we all go through at various stages of our lives...I first heard the theme whem my Mother passed over...I just sat at the PC and cried....it helped just listening to this song....

The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place should be on everyone's top 10 albums of the decade. As a 1-A Texas football player I can say "Football is about feelings". We were a team of only 16 players (tiny school) and we'd often play both sides. Feelings are the only thing that get you through the second half.
