We still sing this on Sundays. Actually its one of the 20 songs required to learn to play with our worship group. Its such a great declaration.

Man, Matt Maher writes some of the most powerful and theologically rich worship songs. Lord, I Need You is my favorite worship song. God has truly gifted him with a great songwriting and worship leading ability. I pray that he renounces Catholicism and embraces the true Gospel.

@@michaelbrickley2443 Yes, I believe the Catholic gospel is a false gospel. It teaches faith plus works, and they claim that Mary is the “co-redemptrix” of mankind. Christ did all the redeeming. That’s the Good News!

There are many teachers who have included works based on James and you’re a) thinking you can read Matts spirit and believing Yahweh is finicky about these things. Yahweh is picky about teachers knowingly teaching false gospels. I think we have bigger problems when people are idolizing the man, Donald Trump. I don’t let their idolatry interfere with my faith journey. Pray for them, yourself, Matt Maher, whoever you believe is in need. I’m not here to condemn anyone. Great teaching by Michael Heiser on grace. I watch it occasionally as he shows certain truths about salvation. Shalom

@@michaelbrickley2443 I never said Matt isn’t saved. I believe many Catholics are saved. But like you said, only God knows the state of their hearts and whether their name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. However, Catholics who are saved are saved in spite of the false gospel of the Catholic Church, not because of it. I already said in my original post that I pray for Matt Maher.

Sad thing is that Matt Maher as a catholic doesn't think that Gods grace is enough. He believes that Gods grace + participating in the sacraments reduces his eventual time in purgatory, and then he eventually gets to heaven.
