pile 4 - I have an overprotective, semi-toxic, very controlling mother and everything you said about needing freedom resonated so deeply with me. For the better part of a year, the control has been eating me up inside, the idea that I can't do things I want to because my mother wouldn't approve. I'm 20 years old, a fully grown adult, and yet I'm constantly terrified of how my mother will react to the most mundane changes I make to my life. I can't get piercings, tattoos, change my hair, or anything of the sort because god FORBID I look like anything other than the 'beautiful' daughter she knows and loves, regardless of how happy and at home in my body it would make me to do so. I know my mom loves me, you got that part right, too, but now it's time for me to have the conversation I've been putting off for a whole year, too scared to find the words: my life is my own. U and me match here a lot.. My mom is exactly the same as yours ...it definitely doesn't mean she hates me or something like that.. In fact she can die for me but we all know being to nice and good isn't okay which is absolutely she is.. She and my dad has an inter caste love marriage but idk I m so unlucky that she didn't showed any sort of sympathy towards me and my love just because my boyfriend if from different cultures and has different language and traditions.. I can't believe mom took it so far that it made my dad call my boyfriend and ask him to leave me alone forever and always and.. Ugh God.. If I didn't stop I can guarantee either me or my boyfriend would be dead by now.. 🙂..we took a break from our relationship and I'm sad and lonely and insecurities hitting me up at this moment..me and my boyfriend decided to get successful enough for each other and then finally get together.. It's a long battle now IDK when I will talk to him next.. But I have to win it 🙂

I realized my mom never supported me financially & doesn't make sure I'm Ok, so Why the Hell should I listen to her or Care; as a legal adult our moms can't make us do Anything anymore; pick your own clothes & activities w/ Confidence now. You don't need your mom to tell you anything, You Will Be Successful & Happy on your own! 👍

It’s not for the faint of heart. But the rewards and the strength I’ve gained from it are innumerable. look this happens to everyone even me..... and i think you just need to think about being open about your thoughts to your mum...... and also before you think about leaving home, are you earning? because if you leave home and you are not earning, then you will still be dependent on her for money.....in my case, i can do nothing because, i don't earn, and also i don't have anywhere to go to...... plus i live in India and well, if you are a girl living in India and you are single, and you leave your home because of some stuff between your parents, your neighbours will start gossiping......my case is the same as yours and i am 34 years old.... which is why i asked if your were earning..... and also you need to know where to go.... if you have a boyfriend and he and his family is willing to let you live with them well and good....... but before you think about walking to your mum and telling her what's on your mind, i advice you to think about the main stuff like your income, and the place you are going to live.....because if you are not earning and you have nowhere to go except the home you share with your mum, then i would advice you to think about all this then tell her once you have got everything...... in my case i can do nothing like you because the only time you can leave your family for good is when you get married, or are studying/working abroad .....because once you are married, you live with your husband and your in laws.....and if you know that your mum is against your plans so be it, you at least have somewhere to go and live, and also you are able to pay your bills..... remember one thing, you need to also see things from her point as well..... in my case, whether i do anything like colour my hair (for example) or nothing and just be me, i will still attract unwanted attention and i don't like that...... and yes my parents love me and act stupid at times.....but i think that you, are still young....but i think that you are old enough to do as you wish..... so i guess though i am a bit of concerned about you...... i think that, you should give it a go.......but you also need to be realistic......because like me, i don't earn and nor do i have anywhere to go except where i stay with my parents......so if i told my parents i want to leave, they will either say "okay! where will you go? do you have anywhere to live?" or "who are you gonna live with?".....and in India the fact that you even have a boyfriend is frowned upon not just by your parents but also by your society...... especially if you are a girl who is single.... because i have no choice but to live with my family at least at present or as far as i can see.........but all the best to you kid.... 🙂
