YOUR FIRST RC PLANE! YOUR FIRST RC JET! - E-FLITE HABU 70MM RTF

=======================================================
Hey guys! welcome back to Jon's RC! Today, I got to fly the E-flite Habu RTF 70mm jet again! I had forgotten how fun this plane is to fly. If you are an absolute beginner and researching which plane to start with, you should seriously consider getting this package.
In the package, you the get:
1) E-flite Habu STS 70mm EDF
(1) Brushless Outrunner Motor (installed)
(1) 70A Brushless ESC (installed)
(5) Servos (installed)
(1) Spektrum 3230B Flight Controller (installed)
(1) Spektrum 4650C Serial Receiver (installed)
(1) Spektrum DXS DSMX® 2.4GHz Transmitter
(1) Spektrum 4000mAh 3S 11.1V Smart LiPo Battery
(1) Spektrum S120 USB-C Smart Charger
(1) Product Manual
The cool thing is that this plane can grow with your skills. The plane has three flight modes: beginner, intermediate and experienced. You can toggle through the three flight modes during flight from a toggle switch on the DXS.
The plane also supports a 3S and 4S battery. Beginners should start out with the included 3S LiPo. For my flight, I used a 4S 4000 mAh LiPo. The Habu is fun to fly on the 3S but she is definitely a different bird on a 4S!
Enjoy the video and please subscribe to our channel! Thank you!

    Nice video. You actually can program expo into that transmitter. Using the free Spektum Programming Software and the Spektrum USB cable allows you to make lots of adjustments such as expo, dual rates, gains. and mixes. You also can bind other BNF planes to this transmitter.

    Bring it back with your dad at the sticks and we'll find out whether or not it is beginner friendly. 😊 PS. On your recommendation and Nate from RC Saylors and a few others I ordered this morning the AeroScout over the CC S 2.

    Good choice! The AeroScout is such an awesome plane! I used the AeroScout to win 1st place on three events at my flying field's 2021 Fun Fly event!

    I enjoy Jon's videos. This comment is not aimed just at Jon, but all reviewers. They get a beginner plane and put the highest S rated battery in the plane, and for the most part show their aerobatic skills. For God sake fly it like a beginner. If they want to show off their skills do so with warbirds rather than trainers. Case in point Draco reviewers trying to use a STOL plane for aerobatics, not cool.

    Valid point! Because this plane has three flight modes, I should have spent more time in the beginner and intermediate levels describing the experience and not jump directly into expert mode. I will remember that for future flight videos. Thanks for the feedback!

    You also noted twice it may be too fast for a beginner. The RTF for beginners comes with a 3S, while the plane being flown in the video is a 4s - this will affect the speed.

    Altitude cap? That would make since as to why was like an inch from hitting a tree top and couldn’t go any higher, it was on my maiden too lol

    Great flying and video review on the Habu sts, i have a 3s 5200 mah battery from an rc car, i was going to try it in the jet, do you think this would be too heavy to run in this plane ???

  • @JonsRC

    @JonsRC

    6 ай бұрын

    Thanks! Weight wise, a 3s 5200 is almost the same weight as a 4s 4000mah LiPo that the Habu can support. In safe select mode enabled, the jet will compensate for the nose heaviness. Size wise, I am not sure if the 3s 5200 can fit in the Habu battery slot. You should compare your battery dimensions with the Spectrum 4s 4000 for reference which we know fits!

    Yes it fits easy with room to spare lol, its a prime rc battery 50c and seems quite powerful it also works with the plane battery telemetry green lights on the transmitter and I thought it only worked with smart batteries, also weighs only 390 grams, thanks for the info John keep up the good work 😁👍🏼

    It actually weighs less the prime rc battery some place advertising it ad weighing 330 and another 357 so its definitely under 390. But 100 percent does telemetry Thanks again.

    This seems like a really good beginner plane, shame it requires such a large runway. Also, what happened to alot of the plane reviews on your channel?

    Hi. It’s about $400 for the ready to fly and about $220 for the plug and play version from Horizon Hobby. The PNP does not come with receiver, transmitter, battery and charger.

    Without a doubt, the Flyzone DC3 RTF. It was extremely sensitive on the sticks and gave no buffer for errors. tinyurl.com/vv9r26n8
