@@ddjent16 Yup. The fake assembly line scene kids that finally caught on YEARS later after the real scene kids were doing it for a long time think this is the 2008 era. It's like nah dude this was already in full swing in 2001.

Matt is single-handedly trying to save emo we must join in the fight. I legitimately love this song.

You can just tell Matt's satire of emo comes from a place of love. That's the secret sauce. If he didn't genuinely love the music, his content would come across as cynical and the song would have sucked instead being a freaking bop.

That's the key to any good satire/parody. There's no way he'd be able to so accurately and relatably parody mid '00s emo culture for as long as he has if he wasn't part of it himself.

Matt became a youtuber to fulfill his lifelong emo band dreams.

That's not Chris Carrabba. That's Mr Dashboard Confessional. No but jokes aside he made a Christ-like cameo in the video preceding this music video and called Matt "Our Broken Hero."

Matt Cutshall just knows how to make me laugh because it's all so relatable... the passion for emo music, not so much the heartbreak by a plethora of girls.. lol. And the fact that he's gotten the singers to appear in some of his videos is icing on the cake

Exactly my thought.

When I was between 12-19 I was a 'chav' Wore tracksuits and trainers all the time. But unbeknownst to everyone I was also a die hard emo. Loved that era of music. I'm 32 now, got 2 sons and a career but still every morning at 5:30 on way to work I blast emo tunes. My wife doesn't like it much, but I guess she could be replaced, cause - Emo's Not Dead!!

Bruh. That's Matt? I've been listening to Guys Don't Like Me for like 300 years. That's insane. I guess it makes sense why that song is so funny now too.

Heard this song on Spotify for the first time today on my Discover Weekly playlist, didn't know any of the background to it. Took it at face value and love it. Didn't even know it was a parody until I looked at the album artwork and recognised Matt's face from his Emo parody videos. 😂

I caught the crab stance as well. I wasn’t upset that their wasn’t a breakdown but it would have been great.

This is actually a sequel to one of the emo sketches where Mr. Dashboard Confessional tells Matt "You're a hero" and Matt's like "No, I'm just broken" and Dash is like "A broken hero" and then Matt is like "I'm YOUR broken hero". That's how he got the band name.

Seeing how blown away and happy you were listening/watching this was perfection! Just shows how great Matt is at what he does. Talent and sense of humor always kills it!

Ive listen to this song multiple times and honestly it really is just perfect…

OK - I'm going to try this again. I don't know the song or the band, and I'm not sure what "Emo" is, in terms of music. But, since you say it's _that_ good, I'm going to jump in blind. I'll let you know my thoughts at the bottom of this post, after I finish the video. Here I go!!! -------- Thoughts -------- OK - I fucking lost it the moment I saw him singing into a light bulb. This cracked me up! I was never into this kind of music, but I've heard enough of it over the years to appreciate exactly what this artist (definitely an artist!) was trying to do. This was genius, pure comedy genius!

that balance of satire but still fitting the genera really well is how i feel with the band canadian softball i've been listening to them the last week and it kills me how much i like all the songs even though they are supposed to be making fun of my favorite bands styles

The felt emo might delete guy is hilarious and I love this song.

Dude I love seeing your genuine appreciation around 1:00, I can tell you know music and all it takes to put in to something like this. I think he has a good chance at ironically blowing up with this 😂
