HOWEVER,....To ease your concern; I promise not to interfere in Scott’s marriage. @@ilb735 You can carry that fish over the mountain, then let it swim when you get to the water. It definitely wouldn’t be able to climb the mountain without intervention. It was born to swim. The puzzle that requires solving is how to teach only. And that responsibility is on the teacher, not the student. Once dyslexics obtain correct instruction, they learn as easily as everyone else. Once they learn, they know it forever. They work harder in the beginning and this makes them stronger. They pass everyone else up eventually who did not have the benefit of learning how to be strong in the midst of struggle. The ones who don’t excel were never carried over the mountain by someone who saw the struggle.

Sorry, too many comments as usual - last one (for now 😊) I have always had the worst time knowing how to behave socially. Quite recently I found out I have ADHD and i have found watching TBP and your Body Language course has helped me SO MUCH because I absolutely do NOT have the ability to "behave in a socially acceptable manner". Eg I told an acquaintance"Wow, you got bangs? Thats awesome... You wont need to wear as much eye makeup" 😳 I now realize why they reacted with anger - in my logical mind, I know having bangs draws more attention to your eyes but I had no idea it would be taken as an insult and their reaction was so confusing to me at time. I thought I was complimenting them 🤦

11:00 As a woman who jokes more like a man, this is what I love about the 4 of you - no bs or sugar coating. But I completely understand the dynamic change. I like your show because it puts a science to what I've experienced. I would suspect the majority of your audience is middle age women. The fact that you are all tough men discussing the effects of emotions on people's body language probably makes a lot of them feel seen by men in a way they don't usually feel. I'm guessing bringing a woman in, however talented, would ruin that feeling.

I loved this! Thank you Scott!! The first question was fascinating. Are you describing the "pattern recognition" function of the brain? The "is it a rock or is it a bear" thing that we do to keep us alive? Another question loosely related to this, what is the brain function that gives us goosebumps or makes our skin crawl when we hear things? Thanks again, I can't wait for the next one! Much love from England!!

Oh about synesthesia, I have just a bit of it between numbers and colors. It doesn’t lead to anything except fear that I’ll use the wrong word and sound like I’m having a stroke “The problem is that you forgot to carry the yellow ”. I was on a flight sitting next to a very young girl who was busy with various activities. We exchanged a few words. I asked her if her numbers had colors and they did. She told me that of course 8 is pink, when I am very solid on 8 being purple. I don’t see double or triple digits as new colors. I make associations between trigonometric functions and sexes. I don’t think it’s the same as synesthesia though. I think it came from just immersing myself in thought about all the functions and eventually cosine and cosecant seemed female whereas sine and secant are male. the female functions manipulate, change the numerical sign of functions in the derivative, and that manipulation seemed stereotypically female. I guess it became more of a mnemonic. I wonder what the difference is in the brain between a mnemonic and synesthesia. I wonder if they have anything in common

Scott can explain but I can tell you his late Father was a doctor, when Scott was a kid his Father would look at kids body language to see who was really ill at doctors and who was faking it. Scott started reading people from a little boy. He then spent time in the healthcare sector after he survived thyroid cancer as he seen the body language around him in hospital and who needed help... I love TBP but man Scott is my favourite. ❤

Question: my husband grew up very abused by his mom. Well actually all 7 of them. But he was shit scared of her so he got it really bad. Untill today at 63 he believes meeting someone that they will not like him. He also believes to "pay", do everything for ppl to try and get them to except him as a friend. After all these your's I forced him to get psychologist therapy. He is better yet it is still not working

Scott, I had to attend a Body Language seminar as an Advertising Exec. The one part of the class that stuck was the advice to lift your chin and straighten your spine if you aren't feeling confident. I didn't stay in Advertising, but I've used this technique. Is there a Physiological reason for it working?
