Built in 2000, Explorer of the seas was the worlds largest cruise ship, and had some amazing innovative design features for that era.
Most notably, an internal split structure that housed a 395 ft long promenade resembling a town street, with shops, a bar, and a cafe; and accommodation that had windows overlooking that ‘street’.
All of which have evolved into the layout and design of Royal Caribbean's latest Oasis class ships of today.
In the first of our ‘ship tour’ and ‘look around’ videos, we will bring you a very detailed walk and wander into the Royal Promenade, and the things you can find and enjoy in one of the worlds first floating shopping malls and town streets on a cruise ship.
