Today we celebrate International Day of the Air Traffic Controller and to highlight the amazing ATCO staff who on a daily basis keep us safe we thought that we would showcase out favourite member of staff Tim Jones in a Q&A session that we did during our day trip to Copenhagen a few months ago.

Information about Manchester Airport:
Situated in the North West of England Manchester Airport is a popular choice for holiday makers and business travelers alike. As plane spotters we get treated to many different airlines and aircraft with the amazing ability to see them up close at many locations including Southside, the runway visitor park, the airport pub and many more. We see it all from the Emirates A380 take off to Ryanair landings (you can decide if they're hard landings!). Tnere are few other airports where you can get up close and see inside the cockpit of Etihad airways or a British Aiways A320 all in the space of one morning. We are the best place to catch live arrivals and departures at Manchester Airport.

🎵Wonderful, Wonderful, Copenhaaagen...🎶 Some great answers to some BRILLIANT questions. I once heard an ATC say they only charge for the landings, you can take off as many times as you want for free !!! Tim - 330 steps to the top of the tower - You need to put a sign at the bottom saying that it is the equivalent of a 15 storey building!.. (In a 5 year old YT video "All Tube Stations have 15 floors" Geoff Marshall mentions on the London Underground there is a sign at the bottom of the emergency steps at Covent Garden Station that says there are "193 steps, which is the equivalent of a 15 storey building", and another sign at Russel Square Station with "175 steps, which is the equivalent of a 15 storey building", and a third sign at Hamstead Station with "320 steps, which is the equivalent of a 15 storey building".)

Thanks David! I think we’ll have to recommend the sign at the bottom of the stairs and maybe include some other things it may be equivalent to!

You heard about the Tui flight from Corfu skidding off the runway at Leeds/Bradford this aft? There is only one Tui on the ground at Leeds Bradford on FR 24 G-TAWD and it arrived from Corfu at 1353h. Flight BY3551 Sky News reported nobody hurt For those people who didn’t know
