Thank You, Connie you have helped in so many ways. I have come across my grandfather's grave his headstone says he died 1935, so this is what I have been using. Then I came across an old newspaper that is very short, says he died Dec.1934 and that is the date of the paper, what is the best way to document these different dates. The paper mentions his three sons (correct) they are named however there is no mention of his daughter at all. My grandmother passed away years before him. I know my dad and his brothers would not leave their sister out of this notice. Does this happen a lot?

Jane. Great question. Might be a good subject for another video. The short answer is the newspaper would be correct. But there is a lot to talk about here I may just do a video on this one. Regarding the missing daughter from the newspaper article, this could be a variety of reasons. It could be that whoever supplied the information to the newspaper for the obituary, for example the mortuary, was not close enough to the family to know there was a daughter. Missing people from obituaries is common. If you think about it, the people supplying the information may be distraught and simply forgot. Keep in mind the differences between people who witness the event, such as a birth, written into a death document, may not be as accurate as a person who did not witness the event. What I mean by this is if a spouse said someone was born at a certain time in an obituary, the spouse did not witness the birth of their mate, but if a parent gave the information about a birth in an obituary they would have first hand account. It all comes down to first hand knowledge or secondhand knowledge when analyzing documents.

How do you know when you have everything right for in your tree? When researching the Buffalo Rayburn and Blackburn tree . I have 2 different spouses and family for some people .I come across them in different sites rarely are they on one site that has both listed.

This is where cluster research (a.k.a. FAN Club research) comes in. Research the FAN club... build a community of people that was around these ancestors... many times the answer will become clear. Two videos to watch "FAN Club Research?" kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKJq1NGqosy3nKQ.html and How to Use Cluster Genealogy a.k.a. FAN Club Research kzread.info/dash/bejne/dIV8w9Nvk8jZf7A.html. These should help.

It is possible. Sometimes on the records it will say, or in marriage records, cemetery records, and of course church records.

Ancestry does not do that but there was a company that was... their name escapes me at the moment. The only downside to that is you can't upload that DNA to Ancestry, but you could on other sites.
