**E-Bike Bike Touring**: The evolution of e-bikes has transformed the realm of bike touring. E-bikes, or electric bicycles, are equipped with an electric motor that can be used to assist the rider's pedal-power. This means that challenging terrains, longer distances, and uphill routes become more accessible even to novice riders. **V50 & V51 Cycle Routes**:
- **V50 - The Burgundy by Bike route**: This route offers a deep dive into the heart of Burgundy's renowned vineyards, connecting Macon to Dijon. The path meanders through iconic wine-growing villages, historic sites, and offers panoramic views that capture the essence of the region. The V50 allows cyclists to truly experience the splendors of Burgundy's diverse landscapes, from rolling hills to serene waterways.
- **V51 - The Saône Valley route**: This route is all about tranquil journeys alongside the majestic Saône River. Running from Chalon-sur-Saône to Dole, the V51 brings riders face-to-face with beautiful water landscapes, ancient towns, and picturesque countryside. Starting off at the Giant Bike Centre in Lyon www.giant-lyon-centre.fr/fr , we embarked on a journey following the picturesque V50 and V51 Cycle routes. These routes unfurl the scenic beauty of Burgundy like no other.
Our first stop was Thoissey, a quaint town with rich history echoing in its streets. The journey took a royal turn at Château de l’Epervière. The castle, surrounded by serene water bodies, is a testament to the region's timeless charm.
As we pedaled our way towards Beaune, we were embraced by sprawling vineyards and historic landmarks. Beaune, often called the wine capital of Burgundy, was an experience of aromas, history, and culture blended seamlessly together.
Finally, arriving in Dijon, the grandeur of the city left us in awe. Its ancient architecture and flavorful mustard are not the only things this city boasts. Cycling through its streets was like turning pages of a history book.
