loved this video! That handspun yarn is so wonderful! I just wanted to mention, about the reading thing, I see listening to a book as reading. Otherwise all the people with visual impairments, dyslexia, neurodivergence etc who consume audiobooks wouldn't be considered readers and they absolutely are! 📚

I think back to how music may have allowed me the space to express emotions in ways I couldn't have figured out the words to do so. Your handspun is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Take care~Stephanie

She contains multitudes, y'all! I totally hear you. Everyone often assumes that I'm infinitely happy because I'm kind to them. But we all are such complex creatures, of course, we do (and sometimes must) feel more than one thing. Studies have come out that say humans feel 3 emotions at one time most of the time. (Also! As I typed this comment to the music over your sewing, my 6 year old came in and said, "This is beautiful, Mom!")

Oh, my goodness, Kaci, I am so, so sorry to hear of your father-in-law’s passing. Sending you my deepest condolences. I understand how devastating such a loss can be, especially after he seemingly came through his surgery so well. Something similar happened when my mother died - we were prepared to lose her during surgery (she wasn’t a very good candidate, but needed the surgery), and were thrilled when she came through with seemingly flying colors; then, were in shock and disbelief when we lost her just a couple of days later. Hoping you and your family are comforted by the many warm and happy experiences and memories you have, and keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers

Thank you for your lovely podcast. I agree with your comment about audio books. The narrator can make such a difference to the book. If the voice is annoying, it’s difficult to focus on the story. I listen to audio books on the radio which are often in 15 minute slots but prefer to read physical copies. Love the music and footage of the land around where you live. So beautiful. Your father-in-law would be proud of that field of flowers.

Mine isn't so much with the yarn, but wow it takes me forever to make socks!! Those tiny needles! Have you had time to start your husband's sweater? Oh, Kaci, I love your music! I, too have a slight melancholy side and often search out your music selections to add to my “Contemplative” playlist. I really want to try sewing some linen pants. We recently moved to Lancaster County, PA from my hometown of Springdale, AR, and you are my virtual connection to Arkansas. It’s great to be so close to our son now, but I am a Southern girl through and through!

It was grief upon grief - give yourself lots of space to process and move forward. When someone has survived the traumatic event of a heart attack and then open heart surgery, it is such a mind numbing shock to have them suddenly "gone" all over again. Thank you for sharing your making journey, and I hope you are finding solace in your cozy makes. I'm feeling a lot of simpatico with you this week. I also turn to knitting, and listening to sad songs when the world is too much. Early Bonnie Raitt really hits the spot for me.

Kaci, so sorry to hear of your family's loss. May the memory of your father-in-law be a blessing. It's always so hard - for family - when someone dies quickly and unexpectedly, but consider how a speedy passing is easier for your loved one. My heart is with you all.

My condolences to you and to your extended family. I pray that God will comfort you all in this time of sorrow. I also like your song choices. Moody is not bad! I love that music can reflect so much of how we feel or what we are thinking at the time, regardless if there are words attached. I'm also a classically trained pianist and love Bach because of his structure. Thank you for expanding my listening choices :)

So sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a parent, and as a mum, to cope while helping your young children grieve what is likely one of their first big losses. I lost both my parents and my father-in-law within two years when I was in my thirties. Coping with my own grief while supporting my 5 kids with their grief, was overwhelming at times. Be kind to yourselves over this next year as the “first times” without your father-in-law roll by. It sounds like your FIL was a wonderful man, who will be missed a lot. 💜💙💜💙

Dearest Kaci! I am so very sorry about your family’s loss. Y’all are definitely in our thoughts and prayers. I love seeing your knits and sewing. And I just finished The Frozen River - amazing read!! And some cool history too. And I, too, am a cheerful person with a sunny disposition but I also like dark and moody books, movies and music, too. And that is just fine. Don’t let anyone tell you that is wrong! 😊 Take care of you and your dear family. ❤

I actually really love your music. Perhaps we are on the same wave length 😂 I don’t relay think of myself as a sad person, but I am very emotional and in many ways I related to Sadness in Disney’s Inside Out Film haha but even if deep down we are caught up in our emotions and if we lean more on the sadder side, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! I wouldn’t want to be happy all the time but certainly don’t want to be sad either. A happy medium between the two is just right for this baby bear. So keep up the somber tunes and be you. I love listening to you and your soundtrack and your dedicated fans will keep coming back and accept you for you. My heart goes out to your family. Thank you for sharing your story of your father in law. In any shape or form the loss of anyone we invested our love and time with is devastating. Take time to grieve, take time to be and be with your family. Share your memories both good and bad. You’d be amazed with how much more you learn about a person and how others perceived them. Cry and laugh and heal together. Much love ❤- Charese
