People think Salman easily got the role of Prem because of his father's influence, which is completely false. Salim khan never recommended him for anything. He did modelling, he did so many ads, Campa cola was probably one of his first ads. Did a small role in biwi ho tho aisi. Was rejected twice for Maine Pyaar kiye, worked hard. Deepak Tijori was selected but he himself backed off after couple of months due to his other commitments. Salman auditioned again, then he was selected. And rest is history. Became an overnight sensation and big star from Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum aapke hai kaun made him one of the biggest Superstars of the country in his early years of career and with Dabangg he became the biggest megastar of the country. Journey isn't like what we think. He worked very hard, thus the result.
