@@LulaMae21 exactly but thank God for the Britney Spears movement and fans because the judges, doctors, psychiatrist and parents was getting paid. Money was one of the greatest motivators. Also I blame the paparazzi for playing a part in making it seem that Britney was a bad mother.

The fact that cps made her go through that after being a victim is disgusting. I’m a brain tumor survivor and I couldn’t imagine having to recover from my brain surgery while having to fight for my kids.

@Ex Church Girl..yes for sure and it's not always men. My brother is married to a woman who has alienated his sibling family (and his children). She has done sly things to me. I feel sorry for him. I have said to my husband before that she is the type who could slip him poison if he wanted out. I think he feels somewhat trapped. There is probably more of that than we realise too. She listens to all his calls too.

Her story should've been on "I survived". Wow! I've been seeing this recommended for me to watch for about a week now and I just kept saying, nope, I am so tired of seeing bad news back to back to back. Just tragic stories. And I am only now watching it today, 2/6/2022 at 7:30 a.m. This is so sad. How DARE they make her fight for her children back and make her take drug screenings?!?! She definitely wasn't treated like a victim by the state. She missed out on 2 years of her baby's life because of the state, why couldn't their grandmother get them? I have so many questions. Visitation a couple of times a week isn't enough for someone who never got their children taken away for being unfit. And 25 years he's serving?!?! That's it?!?! And I bet that other 20 years for a separate incident/murder is running concurrent with the 25. So he will be out in 25 years, maybe sooner for good behavior and if he signs up for several programs while incarcerated! Do they not see that they made a mistake by releasing him in the first place for that murder?!?! This angers me! It's so unfair. Yah Bless this brave woman, her children, family, and friends. Ii truly hope she is able to get through this. She is scarred for life, mentally, physically, & emotionally. Damnit man! Sending love to you Melody from Central Florida......

My bet was the DA wanted him for Melody's shooting and took death off the table to get him to admit to trying to kill her. He probably only got 25 years because of it being attempted murder instead of capital.

The system was always messed they arrested an innocent man sirhan sirhan in 1968 and hes still in for 50 years they denied his parole 16 times

I literally cried when she said she wish she had died that night. I'm glad she was able to regain custody of her babies and she is staying optimistic and finding her purpose. She deserves to be alive.

actually...there is this one story... Basically this guy and his girlfriend were at home and then they were ambushed by these two men who shot the guy in the head when he tried to fight them off(the bullet penetrated into his brain), and then they also killed his girlfriend, then they left. But the guy got up a few hours later, still untreated, lying in the same place he was shot, however, he had brain injuries so couldn't think properly and just wandered around the house for almost 2 days, until a loved one got worried that he wasn't responding to any of their calls so they called on a wellness check. The police showed up, he opened the door, and started talking oddly and the cops saw his dead girlfriend in the background and asked him about it but he was still talking oddly so they arrested him, threw him into their car, kept him there for almost 2 hours as they investigated the house, then they took him to an interrogating room, where he was questioned for another 2 hours until a detective finally noticed the bullet wound in his head and sent him to the hospital. He did survive but had permanent disability and can no longer think properly.

This young woman is amazing! I know that she's a victim in all of this, but I'm glad that she had to take parenting & domestic violence classes. When her sons grow up they will forever be thankful for there mother who fought thru all the trauma and still managed to get them back .I’ve seen mothers lose custody and never get there children back for her to regain everything whilst fighting for custody is truly amazing

What an incredibly articulate and strong woman!! To be more concerned for her children then own well being while recovering in the hospital, speaks volumes of her character. I for one, am astounded by her strength, resilience, articulation, outlook, and beauty. Sending her and her boys all positive and well wishes!!

I fully believe she heard her mom at that moment even if she was unconscious she still heard her.

I’m sorry for all the woman out there that suffer from abuse of there significant other. You may feel trapped and alone but you’re not. You will find someone who knows your true worth. Break the cycle it is NOT worth it.

Disabled parents in most States, their kids don't qualify for School Bus Services. So it would be very difficult for a Single disabled parent to take them to school unless they have a car for disabled person, mobility scooter, older child, a family member, or a good neighbor that can help to take them to school. Sad World we live in.

@Jale Pale The woman said he'd never been physically violent nd when he did,,, she was executing her escape when he shot her. My Stepfather NEVER showed any signs of abuse or control but he shot & killed my mother after 18 yrs 2gether. Plzzz don't victim blame/shame when there's NEVER an excuse 4 this 2 happen 2 anyone. It could b ur daughter/relative that ends up choosing the "wrong" partner but,,, I pray u never experience anything like this 🙏🙏 Seek counseling baby girl, it works when u apply urself. Stay safe 🙌

And now it's almost like starting my life all over again.. The best part is .. I'm free. No more getting hit for no reason, no more being told I can't go to school..no more hearing "you're pretty enough for me but no one else wants you" no more having to sneak around the house to eat if I'm hungry. No more hiding in the basement. I'm free

I don't know why, I'm not religious or spiritual, but I feel really lucky to have heard this woman's story, while just going about my work here in Galway. For all she's been through, she sounds amazing. I wish her and her family all the love and luck from Ireland 🇮🇪😊

This woman is amazing. Surviving getting shot, all of her surgeries and then she managing to retain custody of her sons. She is incredible. A fighter. I'm amazed at how good her memory is. The fact that she can still live normally after all the brain damage is a miracle. I am hoping for the best for her. I'm also hoping that this brings more awareness about domestic violence and teaches young girls to be careful when entering a relationship because people aren't always who they seem. And something even more important that people don't know is that abuse isn't always physical, because sometimes, people don't believe you're being abused unless there is physical evidence. For example, My parents mentally and emotionally abused me for 19 years of my life, leaving me with anxiety, depression and regular panic attacks/night terrors and no one in my community believed it was happening because I had no physical bruises or anything and the fact that my parents were well-liked people. This woman is so incredible for fighting the way she has. She is blessed. God really did keep her alive for a purpose.

As a woman that's fled domestic violence(mine began because I left him, not before that)folks haven't considered the fact that sometimes we'd have to leave EVERYTHING BEHIND! As in my case, I couldn't just change residence, because he threatened harming me, my extended family, child and our pets! So I had to leave the STATE! Dude knew where I worked, all the places u hang out, all of ur friends and family, the church I attended, where ur kids attend school! They KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU!! What if he caught me there??he's buried my dog alive(neighbors told me while I was looking for dog) But I agree u have to have a planned exit strategy, because it MAY SAVE the lives of you and your family members!!😳

In some cases like mine, the abuse started AFTER I HAD ALREADY LEFT HIM! He didn't want to see me with no one else, and began casing my house, family,job, and acquaintances, then stalking me! Kicking my door in and coming into my house, stole a ladder outta a neighbor's unlocked garage and climbing into windows, and once he climbed up use the downspout drain(for gutters) to gain access to 2nd floor window, after neighbor locked garage door! Some time ur not safe at ur house nor family and friends either, u have to start anew like I did!!
