For those who don't know, this kid could already play Pat Methany jazz licks at that age (7), so this song was just a warm-up for him by then. He is 16 now (in 2016) and is the youngest artist ever to be sponsored by Gibson Guitars. So for the many commenters who mentioned it: Yes, he now has an electric guitar. ;)

I love Carlos' expression of love for a kid who loves what he has done so much to play that song at that age. I'll bet Carlos Santana has a special place in Heaven when he gets there 'cause he's given me so much musical pleasure for these past 50 years.

I have always maintained that Santana is the greatest and most original guitarists in the world. No matter where you are, or what you're listening to, you can always identify that unique Santana sound. I have never heard anyone else ever be able to make it.

Music critics have all agreed that you can't whittle down the world's greatest guitarist to 200 people. It's like saying this one food is the world's best food. Sure Carlos Santana is great but have you heard Jeff Beck. The tone, riffs, phrasing, bending and expressiveness of Beck playing the song "People get ready." I could go on but it's like great foods. Beck is also master of the whammy bar. Andres Segovia is so fast he can make his classical guitar sound like falling rain. George Harrison is a master of slide guitar. Neil Young can make the harmonics on his Gibson Les Paul sound like crying seagulls on the song "Like a Hurricane." Eric Clapton is a master of the double stop and phrasing. Dave Gilmour can make you almost feel like he's playing on the shore watching a boat in the ocean in the song, "Comfortably Numb" I could go on. I hope this kid doesn't give up guitar as great guitar solos are disappearing in the world full of talentless DJ, rappers and autotune.

Totally agree with you on his fantastic, unique, original and distinctive sound! But you need to listen to more guitar players, there are others who have achieved and developed their recognizable style too.

It's Carlos' generosity and joy that stands tallest here. We'd all be in a better place if more humans appreciated just how powerful a force that is.

Santana's greatness as an artist has always been his ability to enjoy music and play for the simple love of music.And it's quite obvious here.

We should all be so lucky as to play before the Master

I have most of the Santana collection. Right out of the Box, the first Album is about Music! Raw wide open free flowing Music. Every Album is a Delight, including Swing Delight.

If Samba PA Ti was the only song Carlos ever wrote he would still be a legend. One of the true guitar great tracks. The little kid does just great . Now I have to look up the original for another fix!!!

Carlos Santana is one of my guitar heroes when I was aspiring to become a guitar enthusiast...His music touches my heart and relaxing my soul. This kid is one that has that God-given talent...amazing how at the young age can someone play such a tone. If I only had to choose, I'd rather be a guitarist that touches the hearts of many, amazes the old and the young, just like Santana and this kid...God bless you both.
