And it was used in ALL of them. It was the main theme to the first movie; in the second movie when Marty picks up his guitar (older Marty, at home) but can't play it because of his damaged hand, that's the song he's trying to play; and in the third movie, at the end, when Needles pulls up to challenge him to the drag race, it's the song playing in Needles' car.

Young guns 2 is one of the best movies made.

That entire album was a total masterpiece. So overlooked. Solo work by Jon Bon Jovi, without the regular band but with a "supergroup" of renowed artists like Jeff Beck, Elton John, Little Richard.

Truly an underrated song. This was a huge hit at the time and seemed to go along well with "Wanted Dead Or Alive" thematically. If you are a lyrics guy like me and Brad, or if you are a fan of Billy The Kid, this song works on many levels. Check out "Las Cruces Jail" by Two Gallants for another GREAT take on rock n roll and Billy The Kid.

@@stixxnstonerz3450 Exactamundo when this MV came out on MTV I had just watched the two Young Guns and so I was already familiar with the clips on the video and it was so so chiling!

As well respected as Jon Bon Jovi's voice is, I'm really not sure he gets the credit he deserves. This movie was so huge at the time and the music is what pushed it over the top. (And Jeff Beck is a madman with a guitar) Blue Oyster Cult is a solid funeral pick lmao, and now "come take a dump on a delicate dish" will forever be part of my phrasiology.

I was at a Bon Jovi concert late 80's and was to scared to light a joint because of all the hairspray in the audience.

Jon disapproved of using "Wanted Dead or Alive" for the film b/c the lyrics are about musicians touring, hence doesn't match the story of Billy the Kid.

The Young Guns movies are my absolute favorite movies. I really recommend watching them. 🖤

Bon Jovi has an amazing voice... Strong and clear... You don't get much better than that..

This song is actually from Young Guns 2, which is mostly about Billy the Kid. Also not Bon Jovi, which is the name of the band. This song is a Jon Bon Jovi solo project, he did most of the soundtrack for the movie and even had a small part in it.

Emilio Estevez played Billy The Kid in Young Guns and Young Guns 2, he was friends with Jon Bon Jovi and he loved there song Wanted Dead or Alive so Jon went on to do a original song 🎶 for the film but in the end he end up doing the whole soundtrack to the film! John Fusco was the screen writer and producer on the first film he loved Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead Or Alive and he played it has he wrote and got inspired for the movie he got ahold of Jon to see if they could use the song for part 2 but Jon didn’t think the song fit for Billy The Kid so he came on set with his guitar 🎸 and roam and walking around with the cast and crew and while at lunch on a napkin he wrote Blaze Of Glory in about 6 minutes and the rest is history it was a #1 song! The official video for this is awesome 👏

The song "Santa Fe" is probably the best song on this soundtrack, and is just an amazing ballad.

I saw him in a grocery store in Rumson, New Jersey. I asked someone who worked there if that was him and he warned me not to approach him because he wasn’t cool with that. I liked him in the movie “Cry Wolf” back in 2005. This was circa 2006. He was driving a black Jeep Wrangler.

You two should check out "I'll Be There For You," "Born To Be My Baby," and "I'd Die For You" by Bon Jovi.

John was Oscar nominated for his Young Guns 2 soundtrack.

Both movies and music had a major peak in 80’s, I remember going to a new good movie just about every week with my friends, and I would be buying a new album/CD just about every week (I built up the majority of my 800 CD collection in the 80’s), now the movies are mostly based on comic books, not much else, and music, well, todays popular music is no where near as good as the average song released in the 80’s. Cause we were lucky enough to be young during this period. I was born in 1978 and experienced my childhood in the 80s and teenage years in the 90s, and I feel blessed because I remember a time before smart phones, social media and corporate nonsense that masquerades as “art”.

The entire soundtrack for young guns 2 is great! But definitely need to watch the movies in order.

This was fun. I always think of Bon Jovi as a daggy ol' 80's hair band that I can only appreciate the cheesiness of when I'm in a stupid mood. But re-experiencing songs through Brad & Lex's reactions re-frames them like that... You can see all the talent on display here & the song is really perfectly crafted. Oh and Lex is big on the slide guitar so they need to find some more of that gear.

Technically, this is not the band Bon Jovi... they were taking a break after a 1989 tour. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi recorded a solo album 'Blaze of glory' in 1990 for the 'Young guns II' movie... Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora recorded a solo album too in 1991. Thankfully, Bon Jovi reunited in 1992 for the 'Keep the faith' album.

I agree. I'm glad the band got back together. But either one of those guys could have made it as a solo artist. Richie would have done better if more people could have thought of him as "Richie Sambora", rather than "the guitar player from Bon Jovi".

How I wish everyone could react with out worrying about being blocked. This is a great song and , to me, the best live performance was London 95, when you have over 70 thousand people singing along, there's no words. Thank you Brad & Lex for this.

This song and video are both amazing! The producers of Young Guns II originally wanted to use Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" for the soundtrack, but Jon wasn't interested in taking that route. Instead, he suggested that he write an original song for it based on the script of the movie... He put together an incredible supergroup of extremely talented and highly respected musicians and wound up writing every song on the Soundtrack, all of which are really great! This was his first time stepping out from his band and doing a "solo project", and the group included Elton John and Little Richard on piano/keyboards, as well as Jeff Beck on guitar. Awesome memories from a wonderful time in my life, and a rather enjoyable movie to boot.

So this song wasn’t actually a Bon Jovi (the band) song, it was made by Jon Bon Jovi solo. But the song did so well that the band ended up taking it on as theirs. The rumor is that the movie makers asked Jon to do the soundtrack but he only agreed if they gave him a part in the movie, (I guess he wanted to some acting, he was in a few other things around that time too), so there’s a scene where a bunch of people are escaping a jail or something and he’s one of those people. But the whole soundtrack was written by Jon and on this song he plays the guitar too. Now that you guys reacted to it you should go watch the official video cause it’s a video that definitely adds to the experience of the song ( and lex, Jon looks good in it too 😉😂)

The lead work and slide guitar is done by Jeff Beck one of the best guitarists, his guitar playing is way beyond anything that others do very blues and rock and abstract this man is in great demand. He is right up there with Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Richie Blackmore. Jimmy Page and Jeff were both in the same band together for a short while called The New Yardbirds.

Bon Jovi nailed this song...love them or hate them....pure gold. Lex knows it. Keep that smile up....whew :D
