You won't Believe this Almighty Mess | Satisfying Restoration

Have I got a good one for you today. Calling this cleanup a disaster would be an understatement because it was totally out of control for years. There were old plants, pots, rubbish, overgrown weeds and all sorts of odds and ends. It actually looks as if it was a nice area at some stage, but after years of deterioration it was in quite a state. We spent about 5 hours bringing it back to life and took out nearly a full trailer of green waste, and quite a bit of rubbish.
Workers on this job: George (long pants) & Reece (Shorts).

FAQ's:
Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

I love the method, it's like a wave of order moving irresistably through the area. Plastic waste, fixed. Neglected pot plants, fixed. Strange substances in bottles, fixed. Broken hose, fixed. Old mats, containers, rubbish, dirt, overgrowth, tangles of weeds, even a plastic pigeon... all fixed! 😄

Wow! It's a rare landscaping business that attends to detail so thoroughly. I love the work you did here. You revived the potted plants, trimmed when appropriate to health, and cleaned with absolute discretion as to what needed to go and what needed to stay. If I were the homeowner of this lovely little courtyard I'd be thrilled to see the renovation of this amazing outdoor space. Beautiful work. Absolutely magical.

Finally!! A crew who spends the time to do things right, neatly and thoroughly…. No hacking away at everything, blowing everything all over the place and trimming/weed eating everything that’s not nailed down. This was a real pleasure to watch.

Gorgeous surroundings now restored. People age, body's break down and our lives evolve making us no longer to maintain what we once did. I'm sure most people do not chose to disregard their years of gardening / landscaping around the home but are just no longer able to maintain all of it. Along comes strong young gents such as you and Reece to bring back the joy!! Thank you! PS. Reece will get the rhythm of your lead with time and your patient tutoring.

It was a beautiful property once I can tell. The cleanup was so thorough and neat! Hat's off! I think it would be better if the owner gives away those potted succulents after this or really makes a commitment to maintaining them. Cheers to you two for working so hard!

George, when I saw the beginning of the video I could not believe the garbage everywhere. I thought this is really going to need George's magic touch. Well my friend you came through and then some. The care you took rescuing all those lovely potted plants. Really impressed when you fixed the hose pipe, then you brushed the cobwebs from the door. No detail was missed. The final magic was the staging of the front patio. Always treasure that special magic touch you have it truly is a special gift. Sylvia, Ottawa Canada.

Hello, I've looked at your new employee a few times now and I think he suits you. Apparently he is still young and can handle the heavy gardening work. As far as your work goes, I like that you are very methodical and thorough without doing any clear-cutting in the garden. as for the gardens they have to tend, I'm sometimes amazed at how people degenerate, neglect and litter those gardens. That's something I can't understand. I understand that from a certain age you are subject to medical restrictions and can no longer cope and the garden then overgrows, what I don't understand are the people who then throw their garbage in the garden instead of in the bin. You have done a brilliant job, but I am afraid you will have to come 2-3 more times to bring the garden back to normal :) Greetings from Germany
