Awesome! Thank you! Rogue One really sets the scene for A New Hope. I wish I could have seen them all in proper order. The opening scene of A New Hope doesn't tell us Leia and the Rebels were like... just 10 minutes away from the battle the plans were stolen at, and how seriously suspicious it looks for the Princess to be there. It makes the Empire's actions more understandable. Thats funny, they pretty much called the title of the next movie discussing the ending. Rouge One is so good, its hard to believe its a Disney production. Just the right amount of fan service and a good respect for the prequels and the original trilogy. They didn't contradict history or screw up the future. Andor was really good too. The best of all those Star Wars shows that were made. I bet the guys would like The Mandalorean.

As to the viewers being gods, while that's flattering (and Babu is too precious for this world), everyone just wants them to have the best experience, and to share in get enjoyment from seeing them having that experience for the first time. We all grew up with these movies being a big part of our lives, and they're so embedded in pop-culture that it's almost impossible to find someone who doesn't know the major plot moments. And indeed they got the most important part of Rogue One, which is that countless people sacrificed their lives to find a flaw in the Death Star, which was always a point of criticism of a New Hope, that the weakness was too easy for Luke to exploit. Rogue One corrected that part of the story by showing how hard it was.

The plans where stolen and then sent to the big ship. From there, they were transported manually in a hurry to Antilles ship before Darth Vader could catch them. Then the interrogation continues in a new hope: Captain Antilles: "We intercepted no transmissions, this is a counselor ship on a diplomatic mission. ..." 2nd Error in Rogue One. According to Rogue One, Darth Vader already knows, that this is the ship with the plans, thus there is no point in lying in a new hope about some diplomatic missions. These 2 very big story errors show clearly, that Rogue One doesn't fit in the story path of a New Hope. Thus it makes Rogue one invalid. Babu and Raeen might be interested to know that this film was made roughly 40 years after the film they're going to see next - SW: A New Hope. By then, the original actor portraying Grand Moff Tarkin, Peter Cushing, had died, and the actress playing Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher, was much older, and died about the same time this film was released. The actors choses to play the roles in this film had some superficial resemblance to the original performers, and the visual effects staff used some very sophisticated CGI to recreate the look of the original people. Since I've seen all these films in release order, I'm enjoying seeing them again through the eyes of someone seeing them for the first time in chronological order.

Coruscant, where the Jedi temple and the senate was shown in the movies 1-3. This is the planet with days of 24h and years of 365 days, the size is similar to Earth and perhaps it is the native planet of humans in the Star Wars galaxy. Please do explain to them that the next trilogy was the first star wars series made and uses older cinematic technologies. Else, they will definitely feel they have gone back in time instead of forward. Waiting eagerly for the next part now. It was fun watching their reactions to this one.

Here's a few more suggestions - but be advised I am adding a warning at the end of each one that may figure into your decision if you decide to show them or not - 1.) Babu in particular I think would like a movie called "Hacksaw Ridge." Spoiler/synopsis: During world war 2, a Seventh Day Adventist - a sect of Christianity where the members are nonviolent and take the 10 commandments very seriously - named Desmond Doss who joined the Army as a medic, refusing to kill or even to carry a gun. There is a slight dispute between what he said and what his fellows said, about how many people's lives he saved, but during the battle of okinawa when the entire army had retreated, he stayed behind to singlehandedly CARRY at *least* 75 wounded men on his back to safety, including 3 of the 'enemy' soldiers. HE said it was only "about fifty" and his Army friends insisted it was well over a hundred men and that he was just being humble. So the film compromised by cutting the number in half. That is not taking into account the lives he saved who did not need to be carried. He was a humble man who did an incredible thing to serve his country and honor his God. (If you like, don't tell them it's a true story, there's an interview with him at the end of the movie...and i love watching people find out he was a real person. His heroic deeds are ) Warning: This movie has a battle scene in the last third of the movie that is very violent and bloody. In my opinion, that's fine because it sets a very sharp contrast to what he was doing during the battle and afterwards. 2 ) Another movie based on a true story in a war movie is called the Tuskegee Airmen. (There are actually two movies about the Tuskegee Airmen; the other one is called Red Tails and I don't think is a very good one. If you decide to watch it, make sure it is the one that stars "Lawrence Fishburne") But the film focuses more on the story of the first African American fighter pilots and how they were a key part of history and civil rights. It's not very bloody at all. Warning: The heavy thing about this one is actually the reason I think makes it such a powerful movie. Black Americans were treated so very badly back then. It's still a problem, but it was so much worse then. The majority of white people in the south did not think Black people were smart, or good for anything except field work. There are seven uses of the "n" word...and if you're unfamiliar with that word, it is the most racist insult to call a Black person. But again, it's a part of history, and we need to acknowledge the past in order that we may become better people now and in the future. So the racism, difficulty, and their battle against prejudice makes their extraordinary courage and achievements even more compelling. These men faced all of that head on and proved to everyone that they were just as valuable as any other soldier. It is quite emotional. 3.) Finally, there is a movie called "Dances With Wolves." It is not a true story, though it is about true history. It is about a white soldier who learns about a tribe of Native Americans called the Sioux, and comes to respect and admire them so much that he ends up joining them, learning their language, their culture, and their way of life. The film itself is beautiful, showing how vast the American landscape truly is. At one point the movie shows a buffalo (bison really) hunt, with over 3000 bison on the screen....which is very impressive until you learn that there used to be more than 1000000 animals in a single herd until they were nearly hunted to extinction. (For extra context, the American bison is the largest animal in north america. They can grow to be over 10 feet tall and weigh more than a ton. They are dangerous animals that are bigger than bears, and bears don't dare to attack them.) Anyway the movie showcases a part of history that we so often do not appreciate, and we can never get back. Warning: There's really nothing objectionable in this movie. People say it is long, and it is; but it's shorter than Titanic, Schindler's List, and the Lord of the Rings. When it came out in 1990, people just weren't used to movies that lasted longer than two hours. (This one is 3 hours and one minute. For comparison, Titanic and Schindler's list are both 3 hours and 15 minutes, and Return of the King is 3 and a half hours long.) If there WAS a warning, mine would be that the plot is kind of slow, but very soon the story takes over and you get so invested in it, wondering what's going to happen next that it doesn't FEEL long. There are unexpectedly funny moments The history is phenomenal, the landscapes are breath-taking, and even the music is spectacular. It is an emotional roller coaster of emotions from pure joy and wonderment to heartbreaking tragedy. The ending is a powerful one.

I love how Babu at the end of the video has a lot of praise for the craftsmanship, special effects, cinematography and how well they all blend together to create an extremely realistic setting. I feel like Rogue One is underrated regarding that, it's a visually stunning science fiction movie, Gareth Edwards used a lot of miniatures and practical costumes/effects wherever he could iirc.

To answer the question of whether or not it takes place on Earth, it does not, it technically is supposed to take place in a far distant past in different galaxy far away. So they have lots of creative freedom when writing the story of the "Star Wars Universe". Many of the habitable planets we see throughout all of the films are very earth like approximations. Of course, some are better or more exotic than others.

Donnie Yen did such a phenomenal job of building such a lovable character, not in a cute way per se, but in a way that compels you to want to know him, be with him, and mourn him. Raeen was half right, Leia appears at the very end as an adult but no Luke. In A New Hope Leia mentions that a lot of people died to get the information on the Death Star to her and into R2, this is the story of those Rebels who died. It was a line said in passing in the original trilogy that got fans interested in the story of how she got the Death Star plans, like Ben mentioning the Clone Wars when he first met Luke, there was never any intention of making movies or tv shows about them at the time but people got caught up in the lore and it became inevitable, fans wanted to see those events happen.

Oh yeah, the animated show Clone Wars takes place between Episodes 2 & 3 and the Ben Kenobi tv show takes place between Episode 3 and Rogue One, about 10 years after Episode 3 and 8 years before Rogue One, both Luke and Leia are about 10 years old, Leia is about 18 years old at the end here. The live action television shows The Mandalorian, The Book Of Boba Fett and Ahsoka all take place after Episode 6: Return Of The Jedi.
