Its more prevalent in 3 than anything else. The longer you stay in the fight the more you hear the flute, until by the end of the fight the flute is the primary instrument. And considering military flautists are used to honor the dead and send them off to a new life, it's a good way of indicating your victory as well as telling your opponent they can finally rest.

FYI, they made custom flutes just for this game!

I realised while looking at the blade designs next to each other that both the Shulk's monado and Pyra's aegis sword are single sided, but Noah's veiled sword is double sided. the symbolism in this game is crazy.

This comment makes more sense after the art book released with Noah’s sword containing both Flora and the aegis.

The Finale is so triumphant. Xenoblade went from a Japan only niche project for MonoliftSoft to a dramatic internationally known Trilogy. What a wild ride. And I’m so excited for the future

One of the worst design decisions I've seen in a game musically, ever. Like, worse than the constant track shifts in the trial scenes in the Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton game. Absolutely ruins the tension and energy of the fights. "You wanna see what we can REALLY do? Mess up the mood! Yippee!" Yeah, XC1 has the vision theme interrupting the boss music a lot, but at least the vision theme is also a banger

Key changes in xeno OSTs are undefeated I also always admired the chorus at 7:42. Love how the flutes start out almost melancholic and then join in to form an even richer chorus than the first one 3's OST really has a LOT of 'little somethings' like this

I absolutely love how the design of Noah's sword is a combination of the Monado and the Aegis sword, it really shows how 3 is the culmination of the Xenoblade series and puts the previous 2 mainline games together with themes and aspects

A: "We will know its name for certain." Glimmer: "Now that's a name we'll remember" Matthew: "We'll definitely know their name....Finale"

I think Mio could be more mechanically interesting. There isn't really a character in Smash whose specific goal is to evade attacks. There are campers obviously, but that's not what I mean. Plus it helps balance out the gender ratio (I don't personally care that much but some do so... woo) and Mio isn't another Swordfighter. Get some more weapon variety in there with her Circle Daggers.

you know it probably has been said a million times already but I can never get enough off the idea that the songs sound dreadful at the start, this shows that you're going against a strong enemy and if you only hear the beginning of the song that means you're probably not strong enough to face it but once you are, the song becomes triumphant to symbolize that you can win against a strong opponent. amazing soundtrack

I absolutely love all 3 of these themes. They sound so full of hope and optimism, while at the same time have the energy within them to let you know there's something going down. All 3 are excellent pieces of music. I love this franchise and can't wait for the next installment!

Look up some guides, on the gameplay, if you haven’t already. It’s incredibly complicated, and you need to figure out a bunch of weird things the game doesn’t make too obvious, to get past some roadblocks in your journey. Speaking from experience.

these are fantastic, but they're infinitely better if you imagine the party members from their perspective games being the ones playing the instruments. the image of noah and mio nearly bursting blood vessels playing those flutes is near and dear to my heart

Gahhh!!! The flow between the music is just great!!! I can just imagine them all fighting a big unique monster and then them tagging out and their music starts to play in their moments!

All of the games are fantastic and the music is phenomenal, this is just my opinion and how hard I’ve jammed out to each. So the first has that very special place in my heart when I’m in need of a confidence booster, and XC3 has climbed up there too.

@@XiaNaphryz Yeah the OG is good, but I much prefer the DE version for the added brass. The OG had synthesisers that sounded vaguely like brass instruments but didn't have the natural oomph. So I'm really glad that the music got a full redo with live recordings instead. Trumpets and Electric Guitar playing together have become a minor staple of Xenoblade's musical footprint and it works really well.

I just realized Xenoblade 1 and 2 xenoblades are one edged swords was Noah's the game where both worlds have combined into one as a double-sided blade it also looks like a really good fusion between the two styles that's a neat little detail

That finale is a true masterpiece

you know that you have an amazing song when you remix every time a new Xenoblade game comes out and all 4 of them are freaking masterpieces (The definitive edition version is my favourite song of all time though).

Finale has really grown on me. I love hearing the similarities between the three.

Those transitions are perfect

What I like most about You Will Recall is that if you're good at the game and have the right party setup, your chain attack starts right as soon as that first lull in the energy of the song begins (2:40), and you reach tend to reach overkill by the time the song picks back up (3:02). Almost like they composed it knowing that. You Will Know is still the catchiest song, though, I just wish XC1 didn't ruin it with the vision theme constantly.

Wish the Pre-end part of the climax was included. When the flute starts looping over and over when the monster is almost dead it gives me such a rush

I’m not going to listen to YWKON “Climax” from XC3 yet because I haven’t heard it in-game yet (or at least I don’t think I have because I don’t know except what it is), but I’m glad this is here Edit: I thought it was some kind of story song but it just apparently plays when a UM gets to half health. Huh.

I'm so glad this series really seems to have found it's audience! I've been following this story he's been trying to tell since Xenogears - watching it's evolution with every iteration to date. Spoiling nothing, the Finale both feels and sounds like victory after everything this series and creators have gone through. You can "really feel it" lol

Ahh, now i can finally read the comments after 1 and a half months and 160 hours of gameplay

I would love too, but if I'm not mistaken, they're all in different keys and change keys within the songs themselves, which would make it really tough to pull off. Listening to the outros/intros of each one, it sounds like it could work harmonically, but it'd be a bit of a stretch. I'm not opposed to it though, and I'll definitely give it a shot at some point!

Really enjoyed this medley, though my two gripes are that you cut of YWKON-Finale (Climax) a little early and that there’s also a small 5 second segment that loops right before you kill a UM.

I really wanted to include those bits too (I had the audio file for the second one lined up and everything) but just because of the way the "chorus" of the song starts on a syncopated beat, it would've had a really jarring transition. (Basically a huge cymbal crash and the start of a guitar solo would play for half a beat and immediately cut out) I'd have to look closer at how they do it in game, but based on the context of when they play, there's a good chance they just cut it in on the next available beat regardless of where you are in the song. Sorry about that!

Imagine in one of the DLC tracks ties all of these together, I would die 😭 😆

I really looked forward to hearing the solo for XBC3 since 1 and 2 taught us each game would have a badass track for the tougher field enemies... And honestly while I love Finale, it isn't badass...I have no idea what that solo is but it's amazing and made me tear up inexplicably...its so nostalgic sounding

I finished chapter 5 and I’m about 115 hours in have been do too many side quests lol 😂 this game is amazing love the story for XC3 so far
