Based on the angle of the mirror, he wouldn't be seeing his reflection, he would see the camera filming him

It's a pretty big mirror, there's enough space for his own face to show up in the reflection. I wondered about it too, but he never once looks in the direction of the camera though he definitely sees *somebody* in the mirror
