She scooted the boiled quail egg and hashed blackened potato around her plate, her appetite all but there. The dinner was exquisite, nothing but the best from her older brother, the king. Victor always pampered her. Ever since their father was assassinated and their mother kidnapped, he took on a parental role. He was only a few years her senior, but aside from the youth in his face, he behaved with all the authority and adoration their father used to have. The guests chattered excitedly in the grand dining room. Glasses clinked, forks scraped plates, voices carried all the joy one could have for the wedding of their one and only princess. "My dearest, it is but a little while until we may celebrate," the low voice of Hugh said beside her. Hugh's golden hair fell across his forehead, framing glittering eyes alit with excitement. She smiled warily, the lump in her throat refusing her to use her voice. Victor would understand. He must understand. It was all set. There was nothing to do but wait. Victor stood at the head of the table, a wide smile showing his straight teeth. "Friends!" he said loud enough for everyone to hear. "We're here today to celebrate my sister's wedding. I wish to offer a toast." He raised his goblet, king cloak falling around him in all the wondrous demeanor a king should have. "To Wendy. May your wit never outmatch your beauty, for else we all may be at your mercy. May your heart always grow like it has since you were a child, and your love bring others to tears." Wendy raised her glass with a forced smile. She was going to be sick. Hugh raised his with her, the smile on his face plastered since she met him. Victor turned his smile to Hugh. "And to Hugh. May you always treasure my sister. May you love and endear her with all the love she could ever deserve, for else the hearts of all her family may break under her sorrow. And may you both be happy." "Cheers!" the crowd shouted. Everyone tipped their glasses and goblets. Wendy could barely hold back the tears now. How could she have fallen in love for the likes of Hugh? The despicable man. One day prior. . . Hugh stroked Wendy's cheek with his thumb and her heart fluttered. He bent his mouth toward her ear and whispered so softly the hairs on her neck stood up. "If you care at all for your mother, you will do exactly as I tell you." He grabbed her arms in his bulky hands. "Lace the king's goblet in this powder. If anyone asks, use your lovely authority and tell them not. If you tell anyone, you won't see your dear mother again, and if you so much as think about not going through with this, your wedding will also be your funeral. Your brother won't be the only one to fall." He pressed a cloth bag into her hand between the false kisses. Wendy swallowed. All the weeks of kisses and notes of love burned to cinders by one moment. The trust she gave him, the love she shared, all the things she thought he returned, nothing but to use her to take the king's crown. And all this time he was one of the ones who had kidnapped mother. Silently, Wendy agreed. She had made her way to the kitchen where servants rushed in a fluster to prepare for the next day of her announced wedding. It was all so perfect. The food wafted through the doors; the scent of meat and blackened vegetables; the exquisite cake topped with ribbons and edible flowers; Hugh's plan to use her to get to the throne. After all, it was all his fault. He found a hurt young princess and saw that as his perfect way to the king. And it was. Wendy wiped the tears before they could fall. There was nothing she could do. She removed the cloth bag from her pocket and poured the powder into the designated goblet. No one even glanced at her, they were so busy. How could she do this? How could she betray her kind brother for this disgusting creep? Wendy pressed her palms into the cold stone counter. Her heart pounded against her ribs. She had to tell someone! She couldn't go through with this! Yet if she told anyone, her mother would be to pay. She rolled the powder around in the cup to make it less obvious and dashed out of the kitchen. I'm so sorry, Victor . . . And here she sat, watching in horror as she realized no one discovered the laced goblet. Her brother swallowed heartily from his drink with the guests. Wendy set her glass down, unable to stomach her actions, let alone the drink. Hugh pressed his hand into the small of her back. "Very good." Victor coughed once. Twice. He fell into his chair to the gasps and mutters of many of the guests. The guards were around him within seconds. Wendy couldn't sit there. She jumped to her feet and ran to her brother's side. He coughed hoarsely, specks of blood on his lip. "I'm sorry," Wendy whispered. "I'm so sorry. It's for mother, you must understand. It's for mother." "What?" Victor coughed. And that was when the life drained from him along with the warmth in Wendy's heart. Hugh stood, smiling. They were wedded earlier that day. He was the next for the throne. He was the king now. Wendy stood, slowly. Very well. She killed one king. The next would have to fall. (Hope you enjoyed! There's a continuation in the comments.)

“You summoned me, my lord?” She swept into the room, goosebumps rising on her exposed leg through the slit in her deep red dress. The color of wine. The color of passion. Of other things, as well, that she dared not think of in case it crossed her face. “Yes, my dear.” The king raised his chin. A smile played on the edges of his mouth, though never stretching full enough to make his cheekbones, so sharp as to cut the throats of children, look inviting. He rose smoothly. “I’ve been informed of your plan.” Her heart jumped into her throat, though her training was too complete to let it to register on her face. All she allowed herself was a slight blush to tinge her cheeks. “I’m afraid I don’t understand, Your Highness.” The powder she hid in her sleeve seemed to burn. “Oh,” he chuckled. “Don’t be modest.” He descended his throne, reaching the place where she stood. Taking her chin in his fingers, he tilted her head up to meet his empty eyes. “You’re quite a flirt, darling. If you’d planned to marry me, it would have done well to ask outright.” His fingers on her face, the same ones that had flicked to order a second plate of shrimp while thousands starved and that had beheaded her own mother, repulsed her. But, ever the actress, she drew her own arm around his neck, raising a single eyebrow. “I may be intelligent, your grace, but I am not as straightforward as you wish me to be.” She licked her bottom lip. His greedy eyes followed her every move. “I only came here to serve you the wine you requested.” She clicked her fingers, and a platter with two chalices and a jug of wine was handed to her by a quiet maid who’d slunk in and out like a shadow. “Sit.” The king did, reclining at the table as he tracked the curves of her body. Her form fitting dress distracted him from the fine powder that was shook into his drink. She handed him his chalice, and raised her own. “To Your Highness.” She winked. “Quite a short toast,” he remarked, tipping his cup toward her. “Well.” She grinned. “Perhaps I’ll finish it later. When we have a bit more privacy.” He smirked. She smiled. They raised their glasses to their lips. Two drank that night. One was a temptress, one was a fool. One was a king, and the other a peasant. One was alive, and one was soon not to be. As she gazed on the body that convulsed on the floor, she completed the toast. “May you get everything you deserve.”

Smile. Food and wine were at the service of the joyful crowd. The dance floor was filled with expensive fabrics and rare colors. People were happy and carefree, after all this was a merry occasion. Their beloved prince was getting married. While gazing pensively at the crowd someone grabbed my waist and whispered "Wife." I turned in his arms and replied with laughter in my eyes "Husband.". Smile. "I want to dance with the most beautiful girl in this room." he said "Can you please help me find her?" "Of course husband, I think that would be the captain's wife," I said pointing at the corner of the room. He burst a laugh "I believe she is a bit old for my taste." "Well she is only 53, be nice." I reach for his hands and we walk towards the dance floor. As the music started, I look around and saw some pale faces. It is working I thought to myself. Just a little bit more time. "Is something wrong?" the prince asked, his eyes were widened with concern. Smile. I repeat to myself, smile until it's time to look panicked. Smile until it's time to convince everyone that you are as shocked as they are. Smile for now. "No, everything is fine dearest. I might even dare to say everything is perfect." So I did smile for hours, talking to people I haven't seen before and convincing everyone, even myself, that I am having fun. For full honesty, it was actually easy to make people believe I was having fun because this was the last time we could ever be silly young ones. And this was a fact that's only I know. So I cherished the moment. Then it was the time for the last dance, he reached for my hand and I hold it tightly and we walked to the dance floor. Right when music was about to start I heard the most disturbing sound of my life. I knew what sound it was, it was the sound of a man gasping for air and failing. Put the sound of a lifeless body hitting the floor, it was the sound of my success. “it is the King “someone screamed “Is he dead ?” “look “it was the sound of a little boy “another man is lying over here and a lady is sleeping at the dining table” He was dead I knew it, he was dead just like the others but I had to kill to cover up my tracks. A single drop of tear fell down to my cheeks, for years to come I always convinced myself that that was a tear of joy, not sadness but it was a lie. I wasn't sad because of the murder of the King but because of the sadness and fear I heard in my husbands' voice when he rushed toward his father.

It’s too warm inside. Perhaps it’s the heat. Perhaps the white double doors thrown open to let the warm breeze in. But she knows better. One might call it nerves. You doesn’t have time for nervousness, she scolds herself. It’s like her hesitation has become a physical barrier and she can’t bear to push open the doors, can’t bear to remember the vial of poison in her sleeve. Still, the doors open from the force of her hands, and heads swivel towards her. She steps down the stairs in all her glory, gauzy white fabric surrounding her like fog. The king waits for her at the bottom of the marble steps, hands neatly tucked behind his back, his expression almost bursting with joy. Her head slightly cocks to the side as she wonders and revolts how this man had become her prime target, with his boyishness and eagerness to receive her adoration. When she is close enough to him, she holds out her hand, and the king rushes to hold it. As she looks around, she notices the children swinging their legs and giggling behind their hands. She almost feels sorry she has to do this. All eyes are on them as they join hands at the altar. She blocks the droning man out as she runs her plan through her head. Distract the people. Pour the poison in. He dies, the kingdom becomes hers. It’s all what her mother wanted for her. She almost jumps from shock as the king leans in, but makes sure she doesn’t give away anything. Their lips touch, making her want to push away, disgusted, but it’s over before it even started. She can tell he’s disappointed. Men. But after a second, his smile takes over his face again and he pulls her to the table, where she stares at the array of dishes. Baked potatoes seasoned with a tasteful choice of a herb, baked ham surrounded in cooked pineapple, rich creamy soup curiously the color of wine, and a cake heavily decorated in edible pearls. It sat at the head of the table, a shiny knife waiting on a napkin next to it. A crazy, angry part of her wants to kill him with that. Though her mother really wouldn’t approve of it. There would be too much blood. The king- well, her husband, she almost forgot- seats himself and beams at her as she elegantly settles into her own seat. She caught the eye of her mother, who was seated almost twelve chairs away from her, decked out in a lovely red gown and gloves the color of cream. Her mother nodded slightly, before pushing her chair back and letting out an ear-splitting shriek. “Oh, my head!” Mother wailed as she brought her hand up to her forehead. She almost snickered at the display. The king furrows his brows at her mother. She took this time while everyone was gawking at the woman dressed in wine red fabric sprawled in someone’s arms. The poison flows easily from the small bottle into the wine. She’d taken the time to find a poison untraceable, therefore safe to use. Her mother stands up on shaky legs, and lets the maid lead her away. People are still gawking when her husband, the king, starts gasping for air. She whirls around, fake-shocked, as he trembles, fingers grasping the tablecloth and pulling it down with him as he sinks to his knees. She leans over him, but she isn’t faking her surprise when he laces his hand through hers. He yanks her down until he can whisper into her ear. “I know you did it,” he breathes heavily, and her heart almost stops. “I hope you really do get the crown." He squeezed his eyes shut and then open them. "Remember that I love you so very much.” Her heart feels like it’s cracking. Well, it is what she deserves. “I’m sorry,” she closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of his hand leech into her hand. Then she shoots up, and walks away. She never promised the crown really was going to end up in her mother’s hands.

It's finally here. I finally did it. After all this time, I succeeded. But why- why do I feel like this? It's like there's darkness wrapping it's tentacles around my heart, eating at my soul. My plan went according to how it was supposed to go, not a fault in site. I'm confused. What am I doing? This is what I wanted all along ... right? I feel the softness of the white gown brushing against my skin and then hanging perfectly on top of my petticoats and corset. I see the blood red colored velvet cloak being placed on my shoulders. Blood red. Images start flashing in front of my eyes. My heart is pounding, my throat is dry. I cannot breathe. All I can see is red. Red. Red. My hands covered in a thick slimy liquid. I cannot breathe. The feeling of a heavy, cold object being placed on my head brings me out of the trance I was stuck in. The crown. His crown. This was his and I-no. No. This is mine now. I worked hard for this, I EARNED this. My crown. I cannot breathe. My hands are covered in blood. His blood. His face is twisted in anguish, in pain. I-I did this? Tears are flowing down my face. What have I done? He reaches out and tugs at the end of my gown and I collapse next him. We're both lying in a pool of blood that keeps growing and growing, showing no signs of stopping. "Stop your crying, my darling. I hate seeing you cry." I cannot get myself to look him in the face. "Look at me" His voice is strained, like he's struggling to utter those simple words. I can't. "I beg of you , my love, let me see your divine face one last time" Even after what happened, his face still holds a small smile. He takes my hand in his, closes his eyes and whispers "I forgive you... my love" My knees buckle and I fall to the floor. "YOUR MAJESTY, are you feeling sick? Do we need to g-" I hold out my hand. "OUT. Everybody out!" "But your majest-" "I said out" Everyone scatters out, leaving me alone in this cold wide room. Suddenly I'm questioning... is this what I really wanted?

POV: You smiled while nobles from kingdoms all over congratulated your marriage. Gifts, money, and blessings had been bestowed upon you and your husband, the king. Your husband pulled your chair open to be seated next to him, you grinned and said, “Thank you.” You glanced into your white clutch and there it was, the small needle filled with the liquid clear poison. You laughed and drank an expensive wine with the other guests. You twirled your drink, the almost blood red wine reminded you of the blood that would soon spilled, you giggled at the thought of it. You quickly opened your bag and held the needle in the palm of your hand. You made sure the butlers were entertaining his majesty and the other people so the guests wouldn’t be looking your way. You spilled the liquid into his drink, making it look as if you were grabbing a piece of bread. You closed your eyes and smiled, you would be the the only queen now. The ruler of all.

She loved playing the piano more than anything in this world. Not a day would pass without hearing her beautiful tunes. Her dream was to live in a cottage in the forest, where she could play in peace. But that night... that night she just had enough of her abusive family. They finally ruined something she loved the most - her piano... She couldn't take it anymore and ran out of the house in the heavy rain. Tears flowed down her face and joined the raindrops. She ran and ran until her legs became sore and her clothes all muddy. She stopped and opened her eyes... She was shocked to see that she was deep in the forest with no trace of the city's existence. She took a few steps forward before she saw it... A white royal piano miraculously stood in the middle of the forest and it looked like trees had formed a circle around it. She felt unreal amount of joy, ran to the piano and played and played. Raindrops accompanied her and made the tunes sound even more heavenly. She played for what felt like an eternity...But no. It didn't feel like an eternity, because it was eternity. The moment she'd run out of the house onto the street, a car had hit her, leading her to fall into a deep sleep, where the dream of her beautiful soul would finally be fulfilled. ((This idea just randomly popped in my head, thought I'd share it with you. Hope you enjoyed 😊

Coughing erupted throughout the quiet halls of the dining chamber. Feet scurried and voices rang out in shrieks and confusion. “The King has fallen ill!” a voice cried out, getting closer to the motionless body of the monarch. The crowed gasped and awed at the sight of the slumped over frame, unaware of what to say or do in this time. “My Princess please shield your eyes. You know not of what has happened” a voice whispered behind her head as hands covered her gentle eyes as a small gasp escape the quivering lips. “My father? Is he alright? pray, please enlighten me.” she grasped onto her pale dress which flowed like ocean waves. murmuring could still be heard and a loud thud followed. “We must leave this room my lady, no one should witness this sight” the man said grasping onto her hand leading her into a nearby chamber. lighting candles, the man stood anxiously looking at the poor woman. The lady nervously chewed her lip and fidgeted with the seems of her gloves. “What am I to do?” she exclaimed, tears in her eyes and arms wrapping snuggly around her frame. “Please wait here. I will examine the situation” the man bowed before slowly opening the heavy oak door and strolling off. She paced back and forth in the room, her heavy white dress conforming to her steady steps as she scanned the room anxiously. light tapping erupted from the door followed by a creaking sound and the face of her newly beloved. “My wife....” the man said somberly. “Come hither to me, I beg” light tapping footsteps scurried over to the man with high stature and small whimpers erupted from the fatigued woman. “The King.... is no more” he whispered rubbing small circles on her hand in order to console the unaware woman. “How could someone do this? how could someone poison him? the universe laughs at my marriage day!” she cried leaning on her beloved until he slightly pulled back with knitted brows. “my dearist.... how did you know your father’s drink was tainted?” he pulled fully back and started to breathe heavier. the woman’s face dropped and the sound of a small echo from glass vile could be heard shattering.

the girl looked up at her mother, the prettiest lady she had ever seen. she didn't really understand what was happening. the party was too loud, too bright and swirling to be safe for her at such a young age, so they had stuck her in a corner with a small, misshapen pudding to eat and a couple pretty rocks to play with. nobody thought she should be at the party, but her mother had insisted, so here she was. her mother got everything she wanted, especially today, her wedding day. the girl knew something special was happening, could see the joy and something else on her mother's face when she looked at the big man with the big laugh in the big crown. the girl understood the change when they had started spending nights at the castle. she liked having new, older friends to play with that spent all day with her and dressed her up and took her on walks, but she missed her mother, who had begun leaving her at nights and during the days with a kiss on the nose and the tap of jeweled shoes walking away. but now her mother was here with her, making the party seem friendlier and less boring. even though the new queen was the belle of the ball, immediately charming everyone who saw her in her long, flowing, creamy dress and dark red and silver circlet, she payed little heed to her many guests and admirers, focusing on the little girl at her side. the girl looked up at her mother periodically, mostly seeing the queen staring right back at her adoringly, but other times she would catch her mother peering across the ballroom at the big man with a fierce look on her face, so different from the one she had always worn before today. the girl thought nothing of it, just went back to playing with her rocks, making up a fantasy world for them. the girl was content. the queen knew what she was doing, of course. ignore the party guests so she wouldn't be forced into conversation and reveal too much. she never had been good at lying. but playing the part of the distracted, infatuated mother shifted their resentment at being snubbed by the bride to admiration that she hadn’t let queenhood go to her head. she had made the deadly move hours ago. best to stay far away from the scene that her new husband would inevitably cause once he happened across it. the poison she had used was a relatively unknown one, but extremely potent and virtually undetectable. she knew firsthand, having tested it on a number of animals ranging in size from wood mouse to lynx. it had been worth her daughter’s tears at discovering the dead animals to see how quickly, how painlessly, they were killed. she wanted the king dead, of course, but that didn’t mean she wanted him to suffer. it wasn’t personal. the girl looked up at her mother again and saw her frowning. the queen was beginning to feel uneasy, not missing the fact that hours had gone by since the ball’s commencement and there had yet to be yelling or choking or the sound of a body falling to the floor. maybe she should have poisoned more goblets. but her worries were alleviated when there was a murmuring in the crowd. a voice emerged through the horns and flutes, murky in its asking of, “my liege, are you all right?”. the queen smiled, making sure to keep her face turned toward the little one at her feet to hide the fact that she was almost crying with relief. this was only her first murder but it was working out perfectly. the violins grew frantic. within seconds he was dead and the girl’s mother was at his side. hours of crying followed, the party guests banished to the streets in the chaos. the queen set her face in determination, her handkerchief soaked with fake misery, and publicly pledged to run the kingdom as her husband would have wanted her to. the queen and new ruler laid next to her daughter in the massive, bitter room that she would have shared with her husband. the girl was asleep, so innocent in slumber. she still hadn’t understood what was happening, only that she couldn’t see the big man or hear his big laugh the rest of the day and that her mother hugged her very tight as she was falling asleep. eventually she would have to know the truth. the queen would tell her when she was ready. not everyone supported their new ruler, and those who refused to change their minds would have to be killed. she could never keep something like that from her daughter. should she though? the queen sat awake a long time, alternating between praying for the king’s soul and thinking up other murder techniques. obviously she could never use the same method twice. she looked down at her child, the love of her life. she would understand in time that all of this was for her. she didn’t know how lucky she was now, but she would. she deserved only the best.

his eyes glinted in the moonlight, encompassing the wintry landscape moving swiftly behind the window as the carriage drew nearer to the palace. even though the prince seemed utterly lost in thought, i managed to catch him cast a few glances in my direction. a smile escaped my lips; unwanted, yet too genuine to suppress. finally. ”that’s the most sincere smile i’ve seen in weeks”, aidan broke the silence, his voice cracking as though he instantly regretted having said anything at all. our eyes met, gazes both unrelenting and dubious. love at first sight in a battlefield drenched in blood. ”it’s just… the night. it’s so beautiful. as if all the constellations… decided to celebrate”. my voice came out in a whisper, the corner of my mouth twitching playfully. i could feel the tension give up, aidan’s eyes still locked with mine in an embrace as unbreakable as the marriage bond now joining our lifetimes together. ”i couldn’t sleep today, you know? i kept thinking about how i used to think that things ended between us, and how we succeeded in making it… this splendid, this meaningful”, he shook his head, then shyly took my hand and intertwined our fingers, his skin starving for touch. my smile grew wider as i tilted my head and laughed. ”it’s time for the grand finale, darling. the one no one expected, but everyone needed.” his other hand rose into the air tentatively and when i nodded in a barely observable gesture, it gently caressed my cheek. i almost flinched, both from excitement and fear, when our noses touched but then i felt us both give in to this moment of long-desired intimacy. i could feel the hairs on the back of my neck rise. ”will you give me a kiss, my lady?” he growled, his lips dangerously close to mine. ”not yet”, i withdrew with a smile. and when i saw him taken aback, i added with a grin ”when you do, i want everybody to see it.” *** the merryment of all the festivities flooded over me when we entered the ballroom, hand in hand, studiously smiling at the people cheering and shouting our names. long live the queen. long live queen triss. it reverberated in my ears dizzyingly as aidan and i slowly made our way to the great table at the very front of the hall, already full of guests waiting for our arrival. the only two empty places acted like a magnet, drawing us towards them with a force. i felt the prince’s palm on my waist as we turned to look upon the crowd. ”shall i make a toast?”, he murmured so that only i could hear what he’s saying. i wilfully inclined my head.
”what should i say? to my beautiful wife? or maybe… to the most magnificent woman in the kingdom?” ”oh, well, i reckon that a few ladies might get offended by the second one” i smirked, batting my eyelashes in a mocking manner. ”i’ll never believe that you won’t take any pleasure in seeing them offended”, he said, his eyes twinkling. ”lovebirds, you’re not alone here”, someone from the crowd shouted jokingly and we looked at each other for the last time before facing the sea of waiting people. i could see the joy spreading all over aidan’s face. they loved us. and, most importantly, they grew to love me; the former enemy. the foreigner. and now, the bride. the queen. the newly pledged king raised his wineglass in anticipation. ”to us. and to the kingdom”, he said, and just before the cheers started to overpower every living sound in the room, i exclaimed ”’til death do us part.” i heard people clapping; their joyful voices like music to my ears. the ballroom exploded in a cascade of noise, and then aidan leaned to plant a quick kiss on my lips. ”just as you wanted it to be, my queen. everybody’s looking”. i reciprocated his grin. in a minute, the poison he unknowingly ingested from my lips will start working. and then, everything will be mine. finally.

I remember the first time we danced together. We were young children, unaware, yet as awake as we will ever be again. He was a prince and I was his friend, it was the only title that would cover the shame of my past. It was now a mere glimpse of a memory, after all these years. I do not feel sad, nor do I feel the familiar longing that would cover my unspoken thoughts. It's been a while, though, since I've felt so in love with him. What a bad timing. Damn it. We eat in silence, and I do not look at him. I cannot, but I should. I should look at him fall. I should listen to him beg. I should savor every minute that passes, every single one that hold the death of this Tyrant. I hate him, the people hate him. _"Dearest, why aren't you eating ?" These words shouldn't make me tense, the "dearest" shouldn't make me feel anything else than anger. It shouldn't. _"I'm not very hungry." _"....I see." We fall silent once again. I hear him pour a cup of wine, and adrenaline spreads through me. I look up, and I see him take a sip, then another, and another. It shouldn't hurt, it shouldn't. He puts down his cup, and I start the countdown. _"You know..." I freeze. _"I feel like you're not telling me something... Are you okay ?" I close my eyes, I close them tightly. _"We will soon be, your Majesty."

She was a servant, and she would bow before no one. Her back would not stoop, her eyes would not cast downward, she would never lower herself into such a lowly position, and not for such a trivial reason as to show respect towards a king who had never respected her. She had made the decision early on in her young life, at the age of eight, a time where the threat of the wooden thrashing stick still held some sort of power over her. And yet she did it anyway. It had been a cold and wet day, she remembered that much, but any other memories had been overshadowed by everything else that had happened on that fateful day. The procession had been late, she remembered that too, and how it had felt to stand for so long in the wet dress that clung to her skin as the rain pelted her face and limbs. But it was as each drop of water fell that her resolve hardened even more. A raindrop made its way down her cheek. She would not bow to the royal family when they processed by. The droplet slid down the front of her dress. She would not even bow to the king. The rain startled to fall in a frenzy, the cold wind shuddering into her thin body. She would not bow to anyone, ever again. It was minutes later that the royal carriage finally turned the corner and started to rattle down the cobblestone streets, with the royal family trapped securely inside. The crowd that had moments ago pressed into her back had swept into a wave of bows, their eyes glittering with reverence for a king who had deceived them with merciful lies. The girl did not bow. Her eyes started straight ahead at the carriage, her hazel irises healing with malice and rage. she dared someone to make her bow, to force her to the ground- “What are you doing Brielle?” An elder girl hissed, tugging on her skirt in an attempt to bring her to her knees. “Bow to your king!” Brielle only shook her head, her damp strands of hair hitting her face with venomous hatred. “I will not bow.” Long after the carriage had passed and the crowd had dissipated, the little girl still stood, her knobby knees shaking with fatigue as the rain continued to pelt her small form. She repeated the phrase over and over, her lips forming the words and yet no audible sound emerged. “I will not bow. I will not bow.” - ♛ - The newly crowned king labored in his bed, his chest rising and falling less steadily as each moment passed. Doctors swarmed the grand space, chattering rapidly as they attempted to find a cure for the king’s rapidly failing health. Brielle stood in the corner, a handkerchief pressed to her face, not to wipe away her tears, but in an attempt to hide her growing grin. She had imagined this night for many years, not unlike most young ladies at court. After all, it was her wedding night, and here she was in her husband’s chambers, just not in the way many would have imagined for themselves. It had been simple really, slipping the small drop of poison into her newly-wed’s glass. His gaze had been turned away from her for most of the night, and when it wasn’t he would meet her eyes with a smile, those innocent brown eyes so trusting. It almost hurt her to think of the king, who was really no more than a boy, lying in that bed, struggling to live. And though the doctors kept fighting, and so did he, Brielle knew something that the others just would not accept. The king was going to die tonight. And he did, an hour later, as the sun began to crest over the horizon. He had been crowned the night before, and had not even lived to watch his first sunrise as king. Brielle was not ashamed of the small burst of pleasure she had at the thought. She kept her eyes trained on the rising sun as the king’s glassy eyes were closed gently, as the blood was wiped from the corner of his mouth, as the sheet was pulled over his stiff body. As all around her, the room fell to their knees. She did not look away even as a doctor cleared his throat, shuffling closer as he pinched her elbow. “Your Majesty, bow to your king.” He hissed, his eyes cast unbelieving on her. Brielle only fixed her cold stare on him, and then turned back to the window. She was a queen, and she would bow before no one.

A young girl stood in front of a throne, eyes watering as she stared down at her feet. She would never be able to deny how scared she truly was. She could feel fear running through her veins like electricity. She knew this was her only chance, if she failed this would be it. The end. “And what have you been up to all day?” The king asked from his chair as he prepared his napkin. His eyes twinkled with joy and sincerity, but it only made the whole thing more painful for the girl. “Oh, you know..just running in the garden.” The girl answered as she sat down beside the king. He smiled and chuckled a bit at this. “You always had a thing for flowers, Quinn. I’m glad you like the garden.” He said as he picked up his fork. Quinn flinched at this. At the very mention of the beautiful things, she felt her throat tighten and she had to roll her sleeve down to hide her darkening veins. “Yes. There very..unique.” Quinn offered as she lifted her glass of water to her lips. She took a small sip and her eyes flickered over to the man as he took his first bite of food. Quinn wondered how it had ever come to this, this horrid thing. The king, Lucas Bennet, had always been her friend. Ever since they first met she’d had an interest in him. But it slowly turned into something more until she was too far gone to ever return. Flowers had begun to grow in her veins and the sickly scent of roses constantly reminded her she was going to die. But then the day before she’d been wandering up an old alley when someone had told her the story of Hanahaki disease. It was then that Quinn found her solution to her problem. It was wicked and cruel, but it had to be done. So as Quinn set down her glass and watched Lucas raise his own to his lips, her heart hammered in her chest like a wild beast trying to break free of its prison. Her hands shook as she stood up from her seat. “I think it’s best if I leave, sir.” Quinn whispered as she turned to face the door. She could hear protest behind her before it was interrupted by a horrible choking sound. She didn’t need to turn around to smell the blood that her friend had coughed up. Quinn walked over to the curtains and shut them, leaving the only light in the room to the brightly lit candles. Quinn didn’t look at the body now laid across the table as she walked past her chair and over to the door. “I’m sorry Lucas, but I can’t quite deal with unrequited love. I always had a thing for flowers, anyways..” Quinn said as she plucked a bright red rose from a base as she opened the door. THING FOR FLOWERS, By me :)

POV: "Here comes the KING!!!" the Royal Announcer called out. The room feel silent as everyone rose to their feet and turned to face the massive court doors. The king walked into the room, her eye's looking over everyone. She wore her fathers crown proudly, the crown made of golds and gems, the largest green one placed in the middle. The late king passed suddenly and his daughter Zoe had taken the thrown. She requested to be Queen and not King but with the already failed attempts at a strong kingdom, the nobles and priestess had decided she was made to be King. "King Zoe of Airnalia, looong live the king!", the people all chanted the last four words and music filled the air once more. "Long live the King, indeed," you spit under your breath. Earlier that night, you had smeared a substance around the ring of her goblet. Poor little girl, she was going to die on her wedding night...how fitting for a whore, you thought, watching her eat with the nobles. She didn't deserve to be King. She doesn't deserve to live. Not after what she took from you. No, you wouldn't-couldn't allow it. "Bruce,?" A light voice called from behind you, you turn around to face a familiar face. "Lafayette," You manage to say with a smile. Lafayette's eyes look over you, his lips pressed into a thin line once he meets your eyes again. Hurt. He looked every bit hurt, but there was something else in his eyes that you couldn't allow yourself to think of. He looked over your shoulder and you feel a lump form in your throat, he can't even speak to you without looking for her. You take the chance to look him over, Lafayette was known for always wearing French fashion, but for this occasion he dressed like an English Upper Nobleman, Lafayette's dark skin was complimented by the royal blue of it. His hair outgrown to his shoulder, that was new, he never did like having short hair anyways. "I didn't think you would come. . ." you admit, he met your eye's again and you see the fight in them. "Neither did I." You extend your hand to touch his cheek, to feel the warmth of his skin, but he pulls away. His eyes looking around and you feel 200 miles away from him. It wasn't his fault. . .it was hers. She knew about those nights you spent with him. She held it over your head, not that you cared what she did with that information...but she was her fathers daughters and what she want's she will get, no matter who dies for it. That was the only way to get you to marry her, she needed the money and soldiers your father had willed to you. "Lafayette, go to the gardens, " you whisper and he frowns at you in confusion. "Bruce, what in th-" he was disrupted by the sound a loud thud and screams followed, his face in complete shock as he ran to the fallen King's side, unaware of the note you slipped into his pocket. 'wait for me and do not tell a soul' "May Hell welcome you with open arms," you mutter, walking out of the room, long live the king.

"look at me" should you have done it? "We have to leave!" the harsh tone stole you out of your inner quarrels and brought you back to those dark chocolate eyes. Atticus he had known from the start. from the second he caught you in the kitchen, switching out a few specific sugar packets with poison, he knew all too well. "explain" was all he had asked, and he listened completely as you told him the feelings you had towards the king. how the surplus of silk and velvet fabrics that you found in one of the countless storage cabinets would never be given to those truly in need of them. how behind his warm eyes and caring smile, he only wanted more. how he wasn't capable of love, only faking it. after your confession, Atticus was silent. you begged him to say something to you, but nothing to anyone else. he just left you with your trembling hands and poisonous fingers. now he was grabbing those hands, pulling you out of your chair. "hey," he brought a hand to your face, gently pulling your eyes to his. amongst the chaos of the dining room, Atticus managed to make time stop. he wasn't panicked, but alert, glancing over his shoulder as guards and guests ran about, yelling and screaming how their king was dead. "you did the right thing." his words pulled you entirely out of your daze and you gasped. "you truly think so?" "yes. but now we have to get you somewhere safe. the guards will be on high alert and will have you as the key suspect." "I-" "now" you just nodded. his hands felt soft as he pulled you through the dark hallways. the king had never held your hand. now he never will.

Drop by drop, the thin black liquid fell onto your newlyweds dish. As the bottle emptied, your brows furrowed more, and your heartbeat quickened. After all, this was the king you had sought out to kill. Was this really the right decision? Surely there must've been people who wouldve done the same as you, if given the choice. Second thoughts were far too late, for the dishes were being carried out to the table, and the tiny bottle had been kicked under the stove. "Ah Y/N, dear you're back. I was starting to worry you got cold feet after all." The only smiles you ever saw from him were ones plastered on his face in attempts to convince everyone his feelings weren't fabricated or influenced by money. "I apologize for my absence." Lies were something the two of you exchanged as if it were as normal as breathing. You sat timidly by his side, avoiding eye contact, but plastering the same smile he wore on your own face. This was the right choice. You swore it was. In a matter of moments, he lifted his glass to yours and picked up the silver spoon that sat neatly by his dish, soon to be his own demise.

"I've come to kill." She whispered. Her looks alone made me shiver. But one never doubted Vivian, the favorite of Merlin, who was the late advisor of King Arthur. She played by her own rules. And I unfortunately helped her in her crimes. She fascinated the crowd with her eyes. They flared with an unnatural light. Her figure was cloaked in dark green and black robes. She held a figured serpent which tipped her staff. It was said (between her ladies) that she carried about her person a lock of Merlin's hair within the hollow of the silver staff. They whispered that she had cut it from him before weaving her enchantment over him and leaving him in his eternal tomb. No one confirmed nor denied this claim. She was crafty, wicked, and the most powerful enchantress in the land. We feared her. And in her craftiness, she struck without warning or telling any of us what she planned to do. She told only one of us right before the act, and if that one interfered in any way, they would be punished accordingly. This time, she presented the king with a beautiful hawk. His feathers shown brightly, and the king, delighted with the pastime of hawking, called for his hawking glove. But the bird was thrown from Vivian's fist, into the air. The king, eager to have the bird on his fist, still had his arm up. The bird flew to him, and landed, sinking his talons into the white flesh. Half an hour later, news of the king's death threw the court into a panic. But Vivian was no where to be found. Note: The Unfortunate Happenings Of That Night Are Not Expected To Be Told Reliably By A Serving Woman Who Died By Foolishly Drowning Herself In The Moat. DOCUMENT TO BE BURNED.

Pov: white roses hung onto the great windows. Wine, sweets and food was set onto the table, its profound taste and looks atracting all guests with their hungry looks for hope. It was a shame though, for no hope would be lighten today. As your fiance hung down to kiss you, you strained away, only to watch his eyes be filled with confusion. You smiled and kissed him. Your lipstick stuck to his cheek, he wriggled and fell to the floor, his eyes filled with horror as he realized that he had been tricked.betrayed.fooled. You simply smile. "just to settle scores, honey." you whisper and grab his crown. The crowd watches you, paniked, petrified as they realized that she was now their new ruler. Their pretty, novelty rich lige was soon to be ended by a new era.

So I wrote something while listening to this, it doesn't fit the title completely but i still wanted to share it (: She was running as fast as she could with her wedding dress on. Breathing heavily. Trying to get to her father, to warn him. She could hear his historical laugh. He was chasing her through the hallways. „You can‘t get away from me, Anne“ There was a moment of silence where you could only hear her hectic breathing and his low chuckle. Anne thought of how stupid she was. All she ever wanted was to have a happy life and start a family. Her title didn’t matter to her. But her husband had other plans. He wanted to rule the kingdom and become the king. All he had to do? Make the princess fall in love with him. It wasn’t that hard. Some compliments and kisses then and there. Et voilà she was head over heels in love. Her father, the king, knew there was something suspicious about the man. But he didn’t want to stand in the way of his daughter‘s happiness. Little did he know that his suspicious were all right. Anne‘s father got sick, so he couldn’t attend their wedding. Right after the ceremony, when the newly married pair was sitting next to each other, he leaned towards her and whispered in her ear. He told her that all of this was just a play to get the throne. He told her how it wasn’t a coincidence that the king suddenly got sick. Her face dropped instantly. So there she was now. Running towards her father‘s bedroom to warn him. But her lover was right behind her. He got faster and grabbed her arm harshly. „It’s already too late, my dear“ Her heart was beating faster and faster. „What have you done?“ As respond she only got a deep laugh. So she asked a second time. „You see… He was standing in my way. So I had to do something against it“ Anne didn‘t want to believe anything that came out of his mouth. „I killed him, he‘s dead“ She freed herself from his grip and ran towards her father‘s room. Tears slowly forming in her eyes. This time, the man didn’t chase her. As she reached the room, she ripped the door open. And there he was. Her father. Lying in the bed with no heart beat. She got closer to the bed and started to cry silently. „I told you it was already too late“ There he was, the love of her life. The murder of her father. „You will get locked up for this. I will tell everyone who it was and you will never become the king“ With all the strength she had left, she walked towards him with a threatening look. But he didn’t take any of this serious. „You really think they would believe you? The princess who just lost her father? They will lock you up, not me. They will think that it’s your grief taking control over you. And I will be the true king here. Standing beside you, my wife that has lost her mind and can’t manage the loss of her father. So go on, tell everyone the truth. It’s not like they’re going to believe you“

This one was too scandalous to deny myself writing for the comment section! I am back again with another 'short' story, lol, enjoy! "To the King and Queen, may they live long and God smile down upon them!" Shouted the Duke of Wales through a thick brogue with a flute of champagne raised high above him. The crowd of noblemen and ladies cheered joyfully to the toast, signaling their agreement to the Duke's kind words. I brought my own flute to my lips and sipped the bubbly drink with the King and the guest. I had to be perfectly in step with all of them, be careful not to raise any questions. No questions other than what I may do with my time now that I am the queen of England. All I could do was smile as my lips released the delicate glass. Not at the good tidings for my marriage, but at the small secret I kept to myself. A secret that has kept me going through the fortnight leading up to tonight. It is dark, malicious, and positively treasonous if discovered. I knew something they did not. I knew who in this room was going to die tonight. I knew when and how. I knew whose drink was tainted and whose was not. And it was delicious to know that soon I would be free from this night, never to relive it again. I placed my drink on the table and looked to my dear husband, my king. He was much older than me, grey peaked through his unkempt beard and out from under the gaudy fur-lined crown on top of his royal head. I am only twenty compared to his forty years. I cannot stand the thought of a life bound to a man that did not marry me for love, but for my looks alone. I had no say, no one asked me if this was what I wanted. I wanted to marry, of course, but not to a man like him. I wanted a man that loved me for my education, my love of books and poetry, or even because he could put up with my sharp tongue. I cannot look at his round, sickly face any longer. It angers me to watch his beastly features morph around the generous portion of food on his fork. I turn to the finely dressed gentlemen and ladies sitting around the great hall at their table, so oblivious to the fact that tonight I was to gift them the greatest scandal of this age, an assassination. Tonight, my husband is to die. right here in front of them all. Of course, I will play the horrified bride and them my witnesses; a perfect plan. Off in the distance, I spot him, a man dressed in a black frock and accompanying attire. He stood out like a crow in the summer, a stark reminder that he is a stranger that is as mysterious as the western winds. He is angry, fuming at the sight of me in draping silks and gleaming jewels. Yes, hold on to that, my love, soon. Soon, I will be released from the contracts that have bound me to the King. Soon I will be yours. I gave him a small, private nod of my head so delicate I am sure no one but him will see it. His dark locks sat neatly around his face, just of his shoulders, moved with his reply. I turn back to my husband and smear a beaming smile at him, secretly glancing at his drink. Only half remains. Good, it will be any moment now. Any moment, the potent poison will make its way to his heart and effectively stop it from beating. Soon, I will be free.

Long POV: It was an undeniably cold night, near the end of November, with snow falling around in tiny snowflakes that created a white carpet on the dark forest ground. It wetted her hair, face, and dress but she didn't care, and nor did she feel the coldness on her bare arms and chest. Or maybe she had been outside for too long and the coldness had numbed her limps but it didn't matter. Even better; the physical pain would less that way. She looked around one last time. Near the dark and threatening forest, an enormous palace was built centuries ago by the first king of the kingdom and to this day it remained impeccably luxurious, and not even a small pebble had fallen off it. But she didn't feel the slightest bit of awe at looking at it like the rest of the people. She could faintly hear the music coming out of it, played by the best musicians from all over the capital, and it served as a soft background for her thoughts. Her parents, siblings, her brother's wife, and distant relatives along with the most aristocratic and noble families had gathered to celebrate her betrothal to His Majesty, King Elijah. She turned around and with her chin high, proud as she was but at the same time incredibly saddened as to what she was about to do, she managed to smile. A faint but decisive smile that vanished as fast as it had appeared. Standing on the edge of the cliff, she felt dizzy at the sight of the dark abyss that awaited her. Her nose could almost smell the saltiness of the water and her body was ready to welcome the frosty and hostile sea below her. All that was just a few steps away. Her fingers traced the silky gold dress that was embodied with diamonds of the same color, the massive jewelry, whose gems were brought from across the world, on her creamy chest that was far too heavy and hid her youth and lastly she took off the thick gold ring on her left hand. She wanted none of these, she abhorred everything he had gifted her with but her mother had slapped her across the face, a few days earlier when she had refused to both wear them and go to the ball. It was a rare occasion when Arabella went against her parent's wishes and the slap had left both her and the maids around her astonished. However, her mother was quick to forget it and the next day she had shown her the dress with her usual tight smile. So once again, she had swallowed her pride and succumbed to her mother and her ambitions. Oh, Maxim, she thought and felt like the pain would suffocate her before she could jump to her death. Maybe we are meant to be in our next life. His beautiful face appeared in her mind his eyes bright and full of life a huge contrast to the sly and bleak of the king's with no trace of warmth in them. As she was about to take the first steps, she heard footsteps behind her. Alarmed, she turned around and saw him standing not too far away from her. He had an imposing silhouette, with dark and dense hair that fell to his shoulders and even darker eyes that she felt could reach the depth of her soul. His fur coat made him appear even more intimidating and even more regal than he already looked. She bowed gracefully, as she had been taught by her tutor, and greeted him. "Your Majesty." Her voice sounded soft and serene, not giving away the turmoil inside her. "The possibility of our marriage repels you so much as to dare to take your own life away?" He said neutrally as if they were discussing some animals and not a person. Arabella felt like she was watching herself from afar as she replied. "I have been misunderstood." She said, deciding to be bold in her sayings as she would soon die. "The possibility of not making even one decision of my own in this life is what scares me and therefore led me to this action, your Majesty." she even spared him a rare smile that didn't falter upon meeting his eyes. He took a step forward and her heart started beating fast against her chest. She took instinctively a step backward and felt helpless as he approached. He was not too far away from her but he was not too close to saving her either. "Lady von Dusteberg, you never cease to entertain me." he laughed- a hoarse sound that sounded like the deathly music to her ears. She furrowed her eyebrows (or tried to as they were numb from the cold) and gulped

A dark chuckle escaped my husband’s lips as he grasped my hand tight, the warmth affirming me as the door slowly opened to reveal the ornate throne room beyond. We entered silently, chins high and proud, the lords and ladies lining our way to the dais where I met his eyes. They were the only source of darkness in the room, as if poisonous vapors oozed from that gaze, a poison that could not be detected. The king lounged, legs crossed lazily. He was not bored, no, but amused. As we approached, I noticed his mouth twitching upwards into a disgusting sneer. We stopped before him, anger growing louder and louder in my ears as we breathed the vile air that he was breathing. I did not let this show on my face, a statue of empty emotions. I could not let him see it. “I suppose a congratulations is in order,” The king drawled, uncrossing his legs and shifting his weight forwards, amusement weaved in his voice. It was my turn to tighten my grasp on my husband’s hand, a warning. I could sense his pulse, the urge to throw himself at the king; he had no idea what I was planning, could not know. Nobody could ever know. I curtsied, slowly, dropping my gaze to the violet carpet lining the throne’s steps. “It is an honor, your highness, to be congratulated by the king.” He laughed at this, low and demanding. “Of course, you both know what an honor it is to be in my presence.” The king barked at this, his own sick joke taunting us further, almost commanding my husband to make a move. He did not, and I silently applauded my new partner for keeping his temper in check. The king’s smile faded slightly at our emotional restraint. “Bring the wine, servant. We must have a toast to our new item.” This last word’s punctuation sent spikes through me, and I dared not break away from the king’s eternal gaze, not wanting to give away my emotions as my heart thumped louder and louder in my chest. The wine. My hand began to shake slightly; I knew what was coming. This was the test, to see where the loyalties of the kingdom lie. One glass was meant for me, one for the king. The one that ended up in his hand depended on fate, on my months of planning. I did not think about what would happen if this plan failed, the only plan that could save this kingdom and this court from true destruction. The servant’s footsteps grew louder and louder, approaching us from the corner. I took the glass from her hand, finally looking away from the king’s piercing blue eyes. I bent my head at the girl, who met my gaze with a knowing look. She would give the king his glass last and flee to our safe point, where she would know no blame for this. My husband now had his glass, letting go of my hand to hold it. The girl then approached the king, the dark red liquid swishing in the crystal glass, akin to the blood I had seen pouring from countless men’s throats. The king took it in his hand daintily, but purposefully. “Congrats, whore.” He laughed and raised his glass in a lazy salute. We did the same, and in unison, tipped the wine to our mouths. The king drank long, deep, gazing purposefully at me, as if my husband were non-existent. I merely sipped the wine, bone-dry and bitter in its aroma. Pulling away the cold crystal from my lips, I smiled sweetly. The king’s grin lessened, and his eyes deepened their gaze, a knowing, fearful look crossing his face, one that I had seen many, many times, and that I would see many more. I raised my glass high above my head, triumphant. “Long live the king.”

*not original theme but what it reminds me of* ‘I won’t I refuse’ she had once said when the idea of marrying the king was finally brought up, she was a warrior, a warrior who was raised to be queen raised for the king but born to be something else. She was born to fight not to rule and look pretty. She couldn’t change how she was raised but from the moment she was born she was born to be a warrior and faith could not be changed.... And a warrior she was, she fought and she fought hard but instead of fighting against the king she fought with him, a mighty pair and as they fought and grew their love grew into something neither one expected. Their love was one of passionate kisses and angry love making behind closed doors they laughed and they joke and around people they were the perfect kind and queen. It was easy to think that the queen was just a pretty face even the kind at times forgot how ruthless his queen could be, how strong she could be. He forgot that she was a warrior before she was a queen. As the king sat with his beloved queen in his arms he sobbed, he sobbed as he finally knew, he knew she was not his queen she was a warrior he did not doubt it as her last word replayed in his mind, the words she uttered when the man who lay dead meer feet away from his beloved order her to give up and her only response was ‘I can’t I refuse’ for she was not destined to be his queen. She was destined to be a warrior and she was. She was a warrior who died for her kingdom but what many did not realised is that is what made her the best queen of all.

Prince Charles was beloved by all, yet he returned love to only one person. His father, King George, had been running the country for decades, and his ideas were a bit outdated. Charles had decided that it was time for his rule to be over. He called the servant, Finn. You see, Finn was the only one who could be trusted with this task. The king sat at the head of the table, expecting a feast. But first, the wine. A young boy about his son’s age stumbled up with a bottle of wine. He was short, with tufts of blonde hair in all directions. He introduced himself as Finn and asked if the king would like any wine. What a silly question, of course George wanted wine! He was the man who got drunk at every little celebration! So Finn poured him a glass. About half an hour after the feast had started, the main course began. It was roast chicken with… some sort of vegetable on the side. The king couldn’t quite tell. That was another reason why Charles hated him; George was incredibly stupid. Although, the chicken didn’t taste quite right. Nothing did, to tell the truth. There was an odd metallic taste in the king’s mouth, and he was having trouble swallowing. He must have eaten too much. George was feeling worse and worse as the minutes went by. His throat itched horribly, and his muscles were sore. His head was buzzing, and he didn’t quite feel like eating anymore. Right before the final course, the king vomited all over the table. He was taken to the doctor right away. As soon as the king saw the doctors, he knew he was doomed. They were none other than his son and the boy who had served the wine. Hours later, the king died, leaving the kingdom to the two boys with a clever plan and arsenic. Prince Charles was once beloved by all, yet he returned the love to only one person. Together, he and his lover would rule the kingdom with an iron fist, and perhaps a bit of arsenic.

She smiled at her husband, who was happily enjoying his meal. She walked up to him, two glasses of wine in hand. The sound of her heels clicking the marble floor echoed with each step. She hands one to him with a smile. He looks up and accepts his drink. He clears his throat and raises his glass. He smiles. "To us, my queen." She smiled back, the mischievous glint in her eyes unnoticed. "To us, *my king."* They both drank their wine and exhaled, satisfied. The king stood up, then began swaying back and forth. His eyes squinted in confusion and alarm as his vision began to double. He falls down, the glass of wine, shattering. Pieces of the glass, stuck in his hand. The queen gracefully knelt down, her gloved hand reaching out to him, tilting his chin up to face her. His eyes widened as he saw her expression, although being doubled. She was smiling maliciously, dark aura surrounding her. Four words echoed from her and into his ears before the air continued to suffocate him and bring him into death's arms. *"Long live the queen."*

They didn't close, they never did. I waited patiently for what felt like an eternity. Finally the enchanting sound of chaos filled my ears and I sprinted up the stairs to see the chaos that followed the death of the beloved king. I went down to his bedroom and there he was. The froth from the poison still around his lips. " Katherine? " I smiled and sat next to him. "But... But you're dead " " And now so are you my love " .

He was the devil himself. He knew how we loved eachother. He knew that she would never be his. And yet he tried every means possible to kill our love. But no-one ever told him that love doesn't die. ......... "Cheers to the Duke. May you treat my sister like the Princess she is. Adore & love her always." Said the King, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. His plan was coming together at last, or so he thought. "Cheers", roared the whole room. The King and his sister- my wife , drank happily from their goblets. I waited. Waited for the result of years of meticulous planning. And with a thud the room fell silent. Another thud followed. Everyone rushed towards them. But I knew that he was dead and so was she. He died a very quick death for all the blood he had on hands. He should thank us for that. I looked over to the other side of the table. There sat the Queen. My queen. We smiled. We were together at last. And the King finally knows that love doesn't die, it kills.

⚠️ POSSIBLE TW ⚠️ The princess sat there next to her husband. It was a weird feeling, calling him that. The man that she had been promised to since she was fifteen. But now that she was 21, she was to be wed. With a husband by her side, she could rule the kingdom. Her father seated just across from her. Her dear father, the king. But he was not dear to her at all. In fact, he was the person she hated to most. His cruel ways of disciplining her constantly repeating in her memory. The princess knew he always wanted a boy. To him, she was just a reminder of the failed attempts at conceiving a son. And he despised her for it. All those years of abuse which were brushed off as love, every time he spew harsh words like venom dripping off of his tongue. But the worst of all was when he had promised her to this man. The man that she had resented. The man that would come into her room at night and usher her to be quiet. That same man was sitting next to her, now as her husband. The funny part, she did not even like men. She had always found them foul and disgusting. She preferred women. But she did not worry. No, the princess knew better. She knew that her cunning and sly nature would make it an easy task. What is the task? To poison the men who had wronged her. All those years which she had suffered, every brutal memory played in her head like a record, would be avenged. “A toast to my beautiful daughter and her lovely husband! May the marriage be long and prosperous!” The clinking of glasses rung in her ears and a smile fell upon her face. This was it. She had it all planned out. When the glasses clink and the wine spills, she would slip the poison. Done. An easy task of course. The princess, a murderer, a criminal, a genius. She watched her betrayers sip the wine, knowing they would be gone soon. Now was her time to shine. I hope u enjoyed it ❤️

She quickly grabbed the linen handkerchief lying next to her and collected the drop on her finger. She was scared of getting the liquid on her knowing of the danger the small bottle in her delicate hand held. Against the almost luminous transparency of her alabaster skin the green of the content seemed to glow, giving off a warning sign. Should she just put the lid back on and bury it in the depths of her closet, hoping no one will ever come to know of it? No, she could not bring herself to do that. This was her freedom, her life, her fate placed inside her slightly trembling right hand. She stood up and walked over to the abandoned goblet remembering the little time she had. Cautiously she let the drops fall into the blood red wine and watched the ripple on the surface until it calmed again, not letting anyone know of the thing she did. On single tear streamed down her face from the dark brown eyes, along the straight nose, her small but plump lips and lastly falling from her rounded chin. Turning around she rushed out of the room clamping her hand around the glass container in her hand. Reaching her chambers she flung herself onto the bed, scared but strangely excited at the same time. Now she just had to wait.

This supper bested luncheon and breakfast embarrassingly well, all sat at a dining table conversing with one another. Then we danced a lovely dance to the music of the stars Then we reveled in the victory of kings and proceeded this with much merrymaking, however, I did wish to make an end of feast speech, and my husband upon the throne consented to this; holding his chalice of velvet wine high. I speak, "Kings were always so very victorious They see nothing but compliments in kind All adore them to their faces And loath them behind Why oh why cruel mind Why can there not be a queen Who shows her people benevolence Who sees all unseen And why can those arrogant, not leave for once at a time? For I indeed wish to rule what is rightfully mine." I glance at my husband and his face has turned sickly pale, his eyes veined with red and bulging and his mouth foaming white froth, his chalice befallen to the floor, the poisoned drink spilling as his blood runs cold. I bow to all in the room whom sit in a state of consternation and walk forward, brushing aside the corpse of my malevolent husband and sitting upon the throne, waving for someone to remove the cruel man, "Goodbye, my love, tis my turn."

NOTE: Read while listening to 10:37 The new bride of the Prince sat quietly, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. The grand Kingdom of the East will finally fall. 3.... 2... 1. The sound of the blood thirsty hounds echoed throughout the halls as they crashed into the dining halls from all corners. Right on time. White roses, she’s seen them many a time before. However, she has never found them more beautiful than in this moment, in which they are now stained red with the blood of her enemies. Drip. Drip. Drip. The bride closed closed her eyes, her smile widening. Her plan was perfect. The King , who had so mercilessly slaughtered her people, was gone and his Kingdom with him. She had been planning this moment since she was 9, after she had watched with horror as the King’s soldiers raped and murdered all of her people. The Prince thought he had found his one and only true love. Foolish boy. Easy. So very easy. A bit of charm here...seduction there; and a pinch of sweet lies to roll off her soft, enticing lips was all it took to get to the Kingdom’s most vulnerable place. The King’s bedroom, where she slipped a little bit of poison into his morning water. She knew the poison would kill him after the ceremony while he was eating. She was never wrong. Slowly she rose, neatly tucking in her chair, and walked through the bloodied tables, stepping over and on limbs, hair, blood... Little did she know, that she was being watched by the Prince’s youngest brother from below a table. He vowed he would never rest until he had her head and killed everyone and thing she loved, just as she had done all those years ago.... The Palace’s doors closed behind the bride, leaving nothing but the sound of thunder, rain, and blood to fill the cold silence of death.

I know this literally doesn't match the vibe of this playlist lmao but I have a recommendation, maybe like going to the club with your comfort character or going out gambling 😳in LAS VEGASSS or anywhere in vegas lmaoo, idk it's a scenario I have before I go to sleep, and I love the music you put in your playlists and whenever I try to make one on Spotify I can't think of any songs

After the wedding the king now my husband... specifically instructed everyone that it would just be the two of us as soon as we would get to the castle so no one was in sight to see what I was about to set in motion. Before I would be forced to share a bed with my new husband, he decided that he was hungry so he sent me to the kitchen to make him somthing while he waitied in his courters he said in a vile mannor, "Make me my favorite platters and if you fail I'll cut your hands and make them bleed to know you must obey me..." I then proceeded to bow and said my fairwells, "Yes, my king..." after that conversation I walked hastily and shut the door I then knew if I didn't do as instructed he would do his promise just like all of the other times he had hurt me I had to shake my head to get those thoughts out as soon as I did I slid off the idiotic heals I was forces to wear to not make any sound I threw them in a small motion to signalize that I was at the end of the coridor I was still near the door where the king was and I grew closer to the door carefully and then I heard the most gruesome thing in my life I'll never forget those disgusting words, "now she is my wife...no... she's still yet but a nobles mages daughter who I give nothing thought to now I will call her my slave and now my little toy to toile with I can't wait to see the look on her real loves face he'll hate her after and want to kill her and then no more fighting over such an ugly heinous monster, then no more war just seeing her in pain and just dead the life gone out of her eyes... and no more fighting for my kingdom such a victorious win..." he then began to chuckle and then bursed into laughter. A few tears fell out of my eyes as my mouth covered with my hand and in the other clentching the vile containing the poison that will end the life of such a despicable man. I then began to walk carefully not to alarm the king I was still near towards the kitchen and began to prepare the final meal, carefully I began to cook the food and smiled a bit whioe cooking and then began to cry once more out of sadness?...no..happiness..finally I'll be free from this eternal prison and then I grabbed the vile and began to pour it into the food that would be served to the king and I couldn't help but begin to fantasies on how much pain this vile will give him since this single vile brings out the worst deepest fear of the one who consumes it, I began to laugh at the kings pain in my mind as I waited for the food thay I was preparing and then I heard the food become ready and then I smiled so much and tear rolled out but then I saw the window near me and saw my reflection I then muttered ," I can't seem this happy to king...the only person who can is my love..." I then wiped off the tears and put on a blank expression and slowly began to prepare the meal into dishes and glasses. I then placed it all onto the plate that would carry both of our foods I placed a certain flower onto my plate which means death thankfully the king was illiterate so he had no knowledge of this representation so I was so excited to have the kings death so near every second every minute walking down those corridors I smiled more and more interally while my masked expression showed nothing just as every day finally I reached the door and knocked onto it and he said , "Enter" in an angry tone I opened the door and shut it carefully so nothin would spill and then the adrenaline began to kick in and this is when I realized and began playing the same words in my head over na over ," this is it finally after so long" I placed the food onto where the king was sitting and he said, "your hands will be saved today" he in an annoyed tone. We thanked grace and then began to feast suddenly I began to eat carefully and look at the king directly to his eyes and then the poison finally took it's tole onto him and he began to have black shadows creep over him and then the most horrific things began to take place while I began to watch in awe as he screamed and they echoed all around the castle no one there to listen, the life out of him left I finally said as the pain in his eyes pain slowly changed into death ,"oh finally now you feel what I feel every-..single...day...OF MY LIFE..." I scaremd it as I began to throw knife at him and grab the knife and cut his hands and then I said , "aw let me heal them." I grabbed one of the candle that lit the room we were in and poured it onto his hands and began to close his wounds as he began to say ," SAVE ME YOU VILE WENTCH!" I laughed and continued to cause him the pains he did to me after a while he just finally left the lands of the living and joined the dead as soon as that happened tears rolled down out of joy, "finally I'm- I am free..." I muttered and slowly I heard cracks of tunder and the fire crackling in the room began to echo in the silent room I realized the finally part of my plan had taken charge no time to put yet another mask but before I must call the one who gave me the vile my love as I called him with the words he told me to say if I ever needed him, "My love...the darkness and light of my life come to me please.." then smoke began to show up and then my love came I told him everything he smiled and hugged me told me "we can finally be happy and freely marry..." and so we did on that night but I told him can we at least have one dance before we burn the place down and so we did fires and magic began to spark out as we danced out of lives and the place burned down to a crisp. We said our farewells for the night and it enede with a kiss under the moonlightand fire and magical lights I walked away my dress flowed with the vast winds and thankfully I still took the carige to a safe place far off from the prison and all of the jewels and valuables were insided with me even proof to show that someone else caused the fire I slowly began to give tears that would convince people of this horrible thing I went to the place where the most loyal workers were and told them that the king was dead some of them began to faint, cry and screamed but as soon as I told them what happened to the castle they all lost there minds and sanity after a few days when the kingdom learned of what happen most of them rejoiced or attempted to not smile or laugh much more since it was a persons death and now that I was a widow but still the queen I granted a treaty to bond both kingdoms the one of my villainous lover and mine we all lived in peace after the wedding of mine and my lover it was extravagant and beautiful we conquered kingdoms and countries easier than ever with the help of my king and his troupes my intelectual thinking and magic we grew our kingdom since the king never brought joy to his people as soon as more people learned of out kingdom that was prosperous and filled with joy and no one ever knew what or who killed the king or cared at all all they knew was that he was better off dead with their world filled with peace...
