Japan has a ferocious jazz/funk scene with a lot of tremendous Japanese musicians and a large group of expats also. And a LOT of them are female. There is a great female jazz group called The Jazz Avengers, as well as acts like Uko Saxy, The Sax Triplets, Foxy and a host of others. It's like a never-ending buffet of all the jazz/funk you can take.

They certainly are. Just look at Quarterflash, with Rindy Ross wailing away. And Bruce Springsteen, Huey Lewis and Hall and Oates used the sax a lot. Jersey rock icon Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes was also big into brass and was supposed to be part of the reason Bruce had Clarence Clemons in the E Street band. Chicago also had a great brass section, but the best are still the group that were part of Blood, Sweat and tears.

It basically is one of the kinda regular moments where the vast audience in the country gets a glimpse on how brutally controlled entertainment media is - in this case in America. Something that doesnt fit what people like those judges dont deem to fit, is not good, even if the folks behind the judges are absolutely on fire. Ever wondered where those pesky ear worm summer songs come from, which get brutalized up and down on radio for months on end? Simon Cowel and others are literally dictating music taste and talent however they see fit.

He said he liked it, what, he didn't fawn over it properly? I am not particularly a fan of any of the judges and only catch a random performance when it goes viral and the YT thumbnail catches my eye. With that aside, imo it was the technical hardship that was impressive, not so much the music itself...and most don't have a clue how difficult *that* was... I didn't until I read the comments. Listen, the girls get a 10 for talent but lets be honest, wasn't it more of a musical gimmick than a showcase of pure *musical* talent alone? Was it not a purely performative act, based on the hardship, not the music in and of itself? If they came out and played behind a curtain and all you heard was the music, would it still sound as amazing to you? Yes, the audience went wild but was that primarily from the music or from their "act"? Would the audience go out of their way to listen to their music, sans the visuals? Music is subjective, so there may be a few, but I doubt the majority. FYI The "entertainment industry" does not have the power it once did, now that anyone can go online and be exposed to every kind of music from every corner of the globe (hence me watching this band). @@Randleray edit: Also, if what you said is true, the show didn't have to book them at all and the judges of past shows would *never* have reacted so positively to people like Susan Boyle. @@susanivy3619 "Also, if what you said is true, the show didn't have to book them at all" Are you really this short sighted?! Since its beginnings almost 20 years ago, the 'Got Talent' shows regularly book mediocer and downright bad talents, so the judges can actually judge. Its first and foremost an entertainment show. And just like most other shows only function with a certain amount of drama, Got talent needs that aswell... You have good thoughts, but you still gotta mauch to learn. Dont want to sound cendecending tho.

I genuinely don't understand how Simon is a judge. He really does not understand music. Watch ANY of the JYP reality shows, and not only can he explain why there was an issue, he can perform it himself to show what he means. Simon knows he is expected to be needlessly critical without any SPECIFIC explanation. Just negativity, so he leans into it. Meanwhile, I think we could have heard this from any college marching band in America.

These girls have SKILL!! All of these instruments, especially the trumpet and trombone, require so much air to be hitting those notes, and they're all hitting them flawlessly while DANCING! The articulation is some of the cleanest I have ever heard at 2:17 OMG. None of this even considers the difficulty of the arrangement, their blend, and so many other technical aspects that mark this group as massively skilled at their craft. These girls are absolutely incredible! I'm glad that the audience recognized it, because the judges clearly did not understand what was happening in front of them.

These girls did an AMAZING JOB LIKE OMG, 1000% golden buzzer moment. 100/10, y’all did amazing. Dancing AND playing an instrument, like a trumpet (I play trumpet and dance as well, it’s DIFFICULT as heck) is VERY difficult. 👏👏👏, it’s crazy to see this, it sounded amazing. Yes there is probably a couple things that could’ve been fixed, but overall it was AMAZING, I am a musician myself so I understand how difficult it can be playing an instrument. These girls are gunna go places man like holyyyyy. 100/10 👏👏👏👏

I'm happy I found their channel before they blew up on AGT. Cause if you impress the viewer more than the main artist performing, you've got a lot of skill

AGT is an entertainment show, not a talent agency. All the real talented people get removed and they kept the one with the shitty backstory.
