I love nescafe Columbian, it tastes better than any k-pods in my Keurig, to be honest. That shocked me! We don't all have the money to spring for fancy electric "tea kettle" and I've been using a real tea kettle on the stove. Somehow I knew intuitively to not use full boiling temp water; I pour some in the cup to give a preheated blast to my mug, wait very briefly and then pour out, then add coffee and pour hot water from kettle. Don't know the temp exactly but as the coffee is so good I've stopped using my Keurig or making por over Melita version it must be right on the money because it's delicious! Can't believe it's that good! I am forever grateful to my neighbor for turning me on to it through his ranting about how good it was. I'm a coffee snob from age 18 when I moved to SF and experienced real Italian expresso in corner mom and pop coffee shops so I challenged him to make me a cup and prove it. Couldn't believe how smooth, rich, and flavorful each swallow was. The next day I bought some and am still in love with it. They also sell Brazilian but I don't like it. Am going to try the original nescafe tomorrow as my neighbor gave me a third of a jar he had left; will be interesting experiment! Happy caffeination fellow coffee lovers!!

Not controversial to me. I've drank nothing but instant coffee for 11 years. What few times I've had regular ground coffee it doesn't taste right to me because I've been drinking instant for so long. So I can see why people who have drank ground all their life say instant doesn't taste right to them. It's all about what you're used to

I drink instant coffee every day but I have no problems with fresh coffee.

I like the ease of instant coffee. I will try your method tomorrow morning. Great tips.

Your technique for protecting the coffee and its flavor is appreciated. You really do produce some fine, helpful vids. Thank you! I’ve been using instant the last couple years. The hassle required and the clean-up with ground coffee, especially if one begins with beans, is a deal breaker for me. Cost vs. reward calculation. I’d rather expend time and effort on preparing other food.

Thank you! I am also a big fan of Keurig machines, with the little pods. Virtually zero cleanup, and you get coffee in about 90 seconds. Hundreds of different varieties of coffee available. I like organic Guatemalan coffee pods from Aldi. That's my every day coffee.

Im in a hotel in Japan where the option in my room is instant or tea. Thanks for the help.

When I am avoiding carbs or sugar, I use Monfruit sweetener (Erythritol). It tastes just like sugar.

Thanks for the tips, I drink both brew and instant. Thanks for the tips about boiling fresh water instead of reheating the water.

I’ve been looking for a good method to make instant while on hikes and backpacking. This is the second video I’ve seen creating a thermal buffer. I’ll have to work on the ratios of cold to hot and total water to crystals as that isn’t included here. Especially for a black coffee.

Cold water = just enough to disolve it. Hot water mix = Usually 1 tsp of coffee per 6oz of water. If you like it strong, you can add a little more coffee.

I'm NOT a big fan of using bottled water since the bottles are bad for the earth, but I'm going to try this using water I save from our dehumidifier as a type of distilled water.

Your dehumidifier probably has your own sweat and possibly mold. I would not use dehumidifier water to make coffee. My two-cents.

I do the exact same thing and just pour it into a cup full of ice. Depends how you like your iced coffee. If you like it like a thick, sweet milkshake, then you'd have to add extra stuff to it. But I like it simple - just coffee over ice.
