My only lunch detention was in my freshman year of high school, during home ec class....after cooking, every group was supposed to clean the workspace really well & my group left something in the sink (I don't even know what it was because I wasn't in charge of washing the dishes that day) and because I was the "lead" cook for that day...I got the detention for it. As an Animal Science student who attends a agricultural and engineering college, I can also attest to math labs being a thing. It’s essentially extra HW where you don’t really discuss much so people kinda just shuffle around and keep themselves entertained.
