After watching your videos for years, I fished out a junked weld cart from the neighbour's steel bin, got the boss to buy a cheap import TIG, and I've been laying beads of tungsten down on anything I can strike an arc on. Without a doubt, you've started hundreds of careers doing this, and will likely start even more.

Thank you so much for the videos, you really helped me find a path I could enjoy. I'm much better with handles and knobs than sparks and arcs, but I have some big projects in mind and could definitely use a better welder to learn and get comfy with. Great review. About 25y ago, I tried aluminum MIG once for about 30 seconds in a welding course. Of course the settings, lights and mood music was perfect to fire off an amazing looking weld and make me think I actually knew what I was doing. Fast forward and now I have a DC TIG and recently bought an AC TIG for aluminum. I feel you are 95% responsible and don't regret it at all. I'd love to get the MIG, but I am in Canada and you'd have to sneak it past the canoes, poutine factorys and maple trees.

All that for half the price of a Miller XMT 350, that has no AC or pulse. - What can the reason be that Miller sells all the XMTs they can make,,,,- and then you have to spend another 4 grand for a feeder to boot, all for a machine without a TV screen that tells you what it will and will not let you set. 10 grand VS 38 hun. Got to be a reason, Huh?

I’ve had a miller multimatic 220 for a few years now and I love it, a much more basic machine than the htp, no fancy pulsing but it does ac and dc tig and stick. I’ve even mig welded aluminum without a spool gun no issues. I’m all for one box to rule them all! Great video as always.

I think there's advantages and disadvantages. Size is the main disadvantage I have a couple of Stel machines the company that makes these for HTP in Italy, and even though my pro pulse or Iron Mig as it's called in Europe can do stick and DC tig, because I do a lot of mobile work I tend to use the Stel equivalent of the Inverarc 200 tlp. Its so small and handy that it's just easier to grab it and go for Stick or DC tig. But having the multi process there too is definitely helpful. It probably depends on your use case. In a shop having one machine would be a nice setup.

Welding is something that I've always wanted to get into, most of what I do is in wood though, and my woodworking takes up a lot of my space, I know my wife wouldn't let me buy a welder, but if I was (gifted one) how could she say no. I really enjoy and appreciate everything you go through to make these videos and all just to entertain me. Thanks for giving back to your community tot.

Hello Tony, Jose from Puerto Rico. After watching this video, I subscribed to your channel. I'm 66 years old and just started to learn how to weld. This was something I've always wanted to learn, and it would be nice to have one of those machines you're giving away. It would sure beat the one I bought at Home Depot for 269 bucks to learn and practice. Anyhow, I really enjoyed the video and hopefully down the road I would love to educate myself more via a welding course I have on my sights. You have a relaxing way of teaching and I'm practically in the same boat as you, fixing stuff around the house. That new machine is very impressive indeed.

Welcome to the welding world Jose! As someone who is more or less a self taught welder, I highly recommend checking out the Welding Tips and Tricks KZread channel. Jodi is a master welder and with his videos and plenty of practice, I was able to start welding professionally. It’s a great resource to help teach you everything you’d need to know to be able to weld up whatever project you decide to tackle!

Glad to see more of your videos! I took one welding class and absolutely loved it. My family has never owned a welder but I would eventually like to get one. My brother and I have been getting into tractor restoration and we would find a welder useful. One idea I had for the welding market is a garden hose attachment for optional water cooling. Granted a leaky garden hose and electrical doesn’t sound too great together.

I'm new to welding, in any real capacity, and I'm blown away by the technology available and the ease of use on these new inverter machines. I only hope that they have similar longevity to the older transformers, at least for my hobby use.

Here and there, at times years later. It’s pretty cool that’s you are paying it forward to those in need. Something I’ve always lived by. Consider this my name in the hat.
