I`m new to the stock market. Every stocks that I bought so far, I was out of luck because I bought them when they were expensive. I feel I missed out on all the opportunities so far. I believe having $450K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. I am kind of tired of searching for a good asset to buy and losing all the good opportunities.

Okay but is not luck, is all about having good investment plans most of all trading with a trust worthy expert. None of the indicators will ever give you stable results. Because this is just a derivative of the price, a function calculated using various formulas and that’s all. They cannot and should not predict anything. The only way to earn money consistently is to understand how the market works and try to build your strategy on this knowledge.

Its a nice video that improved my understanding of how to apply it to my trading, especially combining it with my other trading indicators/strategies. However, it becomes a little confusing most especially for newbies when instead of saying "overbought", you always said "oversold". More so I think it is more appropriate to use the term "top-half of the RSI" or "lower half of the RSI" in discussing how to apply it during bullish and bearish trends respectively instead of "quadrant" as there are no four parts in the RSI indicator. I perfectly understand it's slip of tongue and did not lose the inherent lessons of the video. I really remain grateful for the video as it simplified my understanding of how to use the RSI.

I go in with a set amount of money, split it into 3 for averaging, my favorite entries for the rsi is getting in under 20 rsi for a company with over 1 mill avg volume, daily chart. I’ll buy in with 1/3 of my initial position, if it goes down to 18-19 I buy again. Most the time I double up on contacts and small reversals go up. These companies have to be worth more than $100 because small 1-2% on these reversals are decent payout at these prices. I turned 100k to 180k on paper trading account practing this strategy since I just graduated college and still need a job. But still I put 4-5 years into this strategy! Hoping you use it too!

Also vice versa for overbought. Look at patterns, for example I shorted GameStop when it hit 93 rsi last week. Anything over 90 is also a good entry. But it’s rare but does work! Look at every company you see that has gone over 90 and see what happens the next day or 2.

Where is the bollingerbands in this strategy? Thought you said earlier that you would only use RSI and BB together for extra confirmation?

Divergences also can signal reversals

Rsi just follows the trend like most indicators. Focuse more on keyzones, volume and price action. Cause if the rsi is above 80 its cause there is a lot volume on buyers side. If youre going short it might be the biggest mistake cause often what happens is a little pullback, what people think its changing trend and rsi told them but if volume stays up on buyers side that chart will go up and stop you out after pullback. So if you want to trade pullups you can try but if you want to trade with the trend look whats the trend. Use macd, obv, and volume indicator. If macd shows long, ob is on the upside and volume is showing a lot of buyers then look for Support and resistance. One option is trade until next resistance or Support. Other Option is wait if it trespasses resistance or Support and enter youre trade.

Hence why you only should look for sells in a downtrend and only buys in an uptrend with rsi and bollingerbands

Never take an overbought or undersold signal in a mid level zone with RSI. Use a key level, a smart money concept, order block indicator to know where you're at from the previous higher highs and lower lows. Strong highs and strong lows are nearly guaranteed winning positions depending on chart symettry.

This is where moving averages come into play. The moment the candles start closing above or below the median(200 Moving Average Line) and then repeatedly bouncing off that median line, especially on lower time frames such as 1 min, 5 min and so forth, you know you're in a new bear or bull trend. I usually have a 20 day moving average line, 50 day moving average line and the 200 day moving average line. The Golden Cross is when on longer charts such at 3 to 4 hour or daily, the 50 day moving average line moves above the 200 moving day average as a confirmation of bull market activity. 50 day average line moving down is called a "Death Cross", indicates bear activity. I use the 20 day average as a means of short term immediate trend movement, the 50 day as a means of moderate trend movement, and the 200 as the long term trend movement.

Definitely, the daily RSI helps give me some idea of how exhaustion is starting to look, and look for confluence and confirmation on smaller time frames
