'You're ugly & I don't need you now,' the fiancé wrote to his bride after she was burned in a fire

Ойын-сауық

A young woman rushed into a burning house to save a child, and she got badly burned. "You're ugly now, and I don't need you like that..." her fiancé texted her while she was in the hospital.

\Ted never stopped admiring Shelli. "What a beauty you are," he would say with such adoration that it made her uncomfortable. "All men envy me for having such a smart and beautiful woman."
Shelli frowned, slowly shifting her gaze to her husband, who sat in a chair with his foot on her leg, admiring her. "Are you saying that if I were less beautiful, you would pay no attention to me and could even cheat on me?" she asked. Compliments were nice, but not when they only focused on her looks.
Shelli disliked people who judged others solely based on their appearance. People aren't always blessed with exceptional looks, like Ted. He was an ordinary guy, but he had that special something. Although, Shelli's mother often advised her daughter to take off the rose-colored glasses and look at him from a different angle. Ted didn't earn much, gave her flowers infrequently, and lived with his mother. After their wedding, his plan was to move into Shelli's apartment. In addition, even now, Shelli had to pay for most of their joint vacations with mutual friends.
The young woman hoped things would change after the wedding. Ted was currently taking courses and was soon going to switch from a part-time job to a permanent one.
"Well, honey, don't misinterpret my words. It's a compliment," he said.
Shelli smiled, but she still felt a lingering discomfort. Beauty is fleeting, present today and perhaps gone tomorrow. No one knows what the future holds.
Shelli's mood darkened, and she no longer wanted to attend Ted's best friend's birthday party.
"Why are you so glum? It's a celebration! We should be happy on such a splendid day," Ted chuckled, hugging Shelli. "Are you upset? Should I stop praising your slim waist and beautiful face?"
"Ted, do you love me or just my appearance?" Shelli asked seriously.
"Your beauty is a part of you. You're overreacting. It's difficult to please women; they get upset if you don't compliment them, and then they sulk when you do. I can't win," Ted said, breaking the hug and heading towards the door, leaving Shelli alone.
Regaining her composure, Shelli slid her feet into her new sandals, buckled the straps, and followed Ted. Maybe he was right, and she had overreacted.
"Ted, did you buy a present for Ben?" she asked once they were in the car.
Ted's mother gave him a car, often emphasizing her ability to afford such an expensive gift for her son. She often implied that Shelli should be grateful to use her car.
"I didn't buy anything, but as they say, the best gift for him is us," Ted said.
Shelli was a little bit ashamed. She was not accustomed to showing up at someone's house, especially for a birthday, without a gift.
"Ted, that's rude. You know I can't do that," Shelli responded indignantly.
"O, don't start again. You know I'm having financial issues right now and Ben knows that my studies don't allow me any time to work. Stop complaining. Let's just go and sincerely congratulate him. That's it."

As someone with scars on my face and body, this story deeply resonates with me. My mom was a drug addict and very abusive, and kids at school teased me until I cried, but I never let it break my spirit. I am grateful to have survived it all and become the person I am today. How has your journey shaped who you are now?

@StoryAnimatedSM... God✨Bless You. You have much inner strength. I leave with wise words of Audrey Hepburn; may they be an abiding reminder of how precious you are… to those dear to you and those who love you, and, if you can receive it fully, even moreso to God: ✨ "The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries or the way she combs her hair: The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart-the place where love resides." -Audrey Hepburn✨

What a very beautiful story. Ted was a Big Jerk. Jordan put him in his place though. Good for Jordan! Shelli deserved someone to champion her and she found that in Jordan. I'm so happy that she has Jordan and Kyle. There is a saying "What Goes Around Comes Around" and Ted found that out in the end (Karma). Well done Narrator. Author a well done story for sure. Thank you so much for this one. I adored it!

No offense to Ted, but he shouldn’t have been a jerk towards our protagonist. He may have been in a healthier condition had that been the case.

✨Moving Story… showing bravery, selfless sacrifice and genuine love-which always seeks the highest good for another person. What an exceptional woman-and person-Shelli is!… head and shoulders above the majority of people! 💫Audrey Hepburn's wise words come to mind: ✨✨✨ "The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries or the way she combs her hair: The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart-the place where love resides." -Audrey Hepburn ... 💖Dear Narrator, thank -you- for your efforts AND lovely voice. >Much ... ps. For what it's worth, by design I would've Not made Ted the last mention in the story. He's a wholly bad person, with only negativity connected with him. Sure, tell the listener what ends up with him, just don't give him the closing. The story's heartwarming ending and lines should've been focused on Shelli and her family.
