did you know it was meant to be for rocky but they went with eye of the tiger, I cant see it as a rocky song, but maybe thats because its all we know

I definitely saw magic. As a child of the 80's, this brings back awesome memories. It was so humble of both of you to perform this live in a house and share it on KZread. I was just listening to Lady Lady Lady and discovered that it was Joe Esposito who sings it. Great playing and singing. .

Actually, I was thinking abut this the other day. The 80's was a real age for music writers to write songs specifically for movie soundtracks. Kenny Loggins especially was on fire in the 80's!

Old boy can still sing. It’s such a great song. I’ve loved it since I was about 10 and watching when that movie came out.

The voice is still there in spades. Love it.

Fun Fact: This song was made for one of the Rocky movies. You could hear it in the lyrics. UPDATE: According to Wikipedia, it was intended for Rocky 3 but replaced with "Eye of the Tiger". It was also turned down for the movie, Flashdance.

I was 7 years old when the Karate Kid came out. I remember my parents took me to the theater, way before stadium seating existed.. lol Such awesome memories, will never forget as I got older we would go to Golf N Stuff it was cool.. Awesome performance, still sound the same.. 👍

That was better than the recorded version in the movie. That song is one of the things that MADE the movie what it was. I can't believe you had the opportunity to jam with Joe Esposito like that. AWESOME!

What a great performer. Almost everybody's voice changes and matures as they age, and it's not usually kind to the sort of rock that was popular in the 1980s. He's kept his top range amazingly well for a guy in his '70s. I think only a few of the greats, John Fogerty and Little Richard, kept a powerful top register into that age. So glad to see he's still got it!

There's no word that can describe this ... it's simply Gorgeous & Epic!! YOU'RE THE BEST AROUND JOE!!

Seriously, I'd be down for Joe Esposito playing a today's version of the song at some point in Cobra Kai. His voice today can definitely add a rich vibe.
