The shelves are packed because they keep raising the prices!

You're right. I'm a plus suze clothes reseller and the prices have definitely gone way up. Pieces I use to buy for $2.00 or less are now 5.99 or more. I have to be very strategic and selective in what I buy now.

I did ebay for years . Was there when it first started. It was fun at first and I loved going to thrift stores to find stuff. I got burned out and now I hardly ever go into a thrift shop . I see you have not lost it yet. 😎

Blue Leaded Glass Shade Lamp: when the bulb base is still inside, with broken shards or the center filament, I have successfully removed the bulb base using a hunk of Potato. I was shown this method 30 or 40 years ago. The potato is soft enough to be pushed into the socket, but firm enough to turn out the bulb base. Works on ceiling light fixtures too. Oh, the Twisty Thing on top is a Finial.
We’ve used a hair dryer to fix ice maker. Sometimes a little piece of ice get stuck in the water line. Empty bin. Heat with hairdryer for 5 minutes. It usually fixes the problem!

That's exactly what the repair man did for us, too! Took a hairdryer to the door through which the water line was going
OMGOODNESS I have never seen shelves that packed❣️ Estate and yard sales have been so good here that I haven’t been to GW in months but this makes me wanna go take a peek tomorrow. Anyone notice the can of green beans on the green isle ? Lol 🤣😂🤣
See what happens when you go out of town?!? The stores are backing up and they can't fit anything more on the shelves lol! Good thing you got back in the nick of time! 💗

I agree Carolyn. An sxample is I looked at a 1000 piece, sealed, puzzle marked $7.59 at GW. On EBAy it’s sell for $7.50. Sad. I guess hang out at the bins to get what doesn’t sell at ghe stores. Also, I am really having to look hard for anything to resell, they’re sending the good stuff to be sold on the internet. PA seems to have really great sourcing opportunities.
Karen, I had the same issue with my ice maker. This is what fixed mine: Take the bin the ice falls into and pour boiling hot water inside it. Place back in freezer. The steam will help unfreeze the mechanism inside. Or that’s the theory anyway. Did this twice and my ice maker has worked great ever since. Free fix= worth a shot
I enjoy looking at the handbags. Thanks for looking!
She keeps rhinestones on hand. Wow! The lamp with horses is amazing. A real Coach is easy to recognize. The C is always lined up in the seams.
I'm going to go put in a load of laundry so I don't feel so bad about sitting and enjoying a nice long thrifting video with my coffee!! Thank you Karen! 😊
In regards to the massive amount of stock in these Goodwills lately: I’ve noticed whenever I go thrifting now, there’s not nearly as many people in the stores these days! A lot of Goodwills especially raised their prices so much, coupled with inflation, my theory is they priced themselves out of casual thrifting! Either that or Karen was on vacation too long and didn’t help to keep that particular GW’s stock down 😁

Melissa, I'm seeing the opposite in my area. The GWs and other thrifts, are overwhelmed with flipper-resellers. It's difficult literally, sometimes, to get up and down the aisles for the people standing at shelves and running comps. We're in an era now that's being officially titled, "The Great Resignation Era", because so many people after the pandemic, don't want to go back to traditional jobs. They are all looking to be reseller/flippers and at least here in this busy metro city, they're everywhere. I feel like that is also driving the prices up - and - depleting stock here. Our local Salvation Army looks like it's on its last legs. They just remodeled the store to take in more stuff, be better organized - and their shelves are literally bare, with big areas of empty floor space. People aren't donating to them, at least - and their central office culls from other stores to furnish stock at this local store. The cashier/manager told me she calls once a week to tell "central" to send her a truckload b/c they're not taking items in, in this suburb. I hope it gets better!

Agree! Also, Target has too much inventory and is slashing its prices on a lot of stuff, so people are buying new at all these places instead.
@laurie4275

I completely agree - it's because they raised their price to match new retail prices. This makes no sense to me, but a manager herself told me they price match current retail prices. That's just senseless. I think a whole lot of people, like myself, are going to privately owned second hand thrift stores, and supporting the small business owner.
Nice to see you back! I love having my space at the antique mall I'm at. With the cost of high shipping, I'm able to put the larger stuff in my booth. It would be fun to see you and Roger share a booth? It may be beneficial to you both and save on shipping the big stuff.
I love the horse lamp, so very beautiful!❤
A fun Sunday morning shopping view without leaving home...thanks Karen! :)
Hi Karen! Loved the longer video! That is the most packed shelf goodwill I have ever seen. Oh the joy that would be to spend hours there looking for treasures. Thank you for sharing and glad you had a great time on vacation.
Long videos are fantastic, I can watch as much as I want and always go back to it later if I don’t have time to see all in one sitting! Enjoy you so much, eBay has been EXTREMELY slow for me this month, summer slowdown struggle is REAL!

i wish my goodwill had shelves full like this....just wow!
That was a wire cloche! Very cool for the person who is into farmhouse decorating.
I loved that lamp missing the glass! I would just put an Edison bulb in it and call it a day! It was beautiful!
I was in that Goodwill on Saturday evening and could also not believe the volume of inventory! I was in Lancaster for the weekend because my daughter had a basketball tournament at “The Nook.” This was my 2nd trip to Lancaster for basketball and we will be back again in July. I always make time to squeeze in some thrifting. Hope to run into you sometime Karen!
I wish you went down the glass aisle..I love glass, always hope to find Waterford, Lalique, Baccarat..so much beautiful glass..but anyway..fun video..shelves busting at the seams😁😁😁😁♥️🐱🐱🐱🐱
You could put your small item's like the bird and frog into your wicker basket to keep them plus more storage
Re: broken ice maker... I've had mine repaired too many times... gonna buy one of those counter top ice makers....
Just binge watching your videos lol. I have never seen a store so packed. We have nothing like this in so ca. so fun, I’m jealous
Glad you had a vacation 🎉
LOVE the videos where you shop at goodwill. keep them coming. Thanks
Thank you for your vlogs. You are a wonderful lift. Cheers. :)
Love love love (Triple Love) the LONG videos!! Please keep them coming Karen!! You are awesome!
I wish our local stores had this much to choose from when I go out. My theory is maybe folks in your area are stuck at home because of fuel costs so they are cleaning out their stuff!!!
Such fun,thank you.
Epic fun! Thank you Ms. K!
Welcome home Karen, I don't think I've seen a store with that much inventory, and I've been to a lot of stores😀 It made for great shopping,

Thank you very much, Karen, for the informative video. I started following you about a month. You inspired me to try to things which I have around the house on eBay as well. Thank you!
We've replaced a few ice makers in our refrigerators. Repair person from appliance stores. Also, recently, our ice maker stopped and we've been buying 5# bags of cocktail ice from Dollar Tree for $1.25. ☺️
I love your videos. Love, love, love. You have the most elegant soothing voice. Thank you.
You missed a Vera Bradley right next to the Beebe wallet. You can always wash a VB in cold water on the sensitive cycle with sensitive washing detergent. As long as it isn't completely worn out it will wash out looking beautiful. Usually the only reason I have had to wash the many VB's I have is because I have spilled something (like Coke) into them.
Whoa!! I’d be digging on every shelf & top to bottom. Way too much fun! Treasure hunt!!!! 😃

Clay cooker can be used to cook almost everything. Soak it in warm salt water to clean it. Indian people also used to cook in them
I am watching you and others to learn what to look for. I love it.
I got excited when I saw you put out a new video!
Wow! Great selection today! I always look toward the back of the shelf thinking that someone hid something good back there. Lol!
Great aisles of cool stuff. I wish our Goodwills were packed like this! I'm in the Detroit burbs and never see our stores this full.
🌟🌟🌟Excited you are going to Whatnot! It could definitely use more sellers like you! The live interaction is super fun too! You have excellent taste, so you should do great on the app!🌟🌟🌟 ♥️🥰💃
🤩 Wow, Those shelves! My Goodwill shelves have been so bare. Enjoy!
I always love your videos! Those shelves are definitely overflowing. There are Fire King peach lusterware custard cups @ 16:20
Love that little black clutch with the "brass knuckles".
He can....keep the frog company. Haha! Good show! As aways.
Some people like the rusty/chippy/damaged. I'm sure it just depends on what it is, but I think that tray somebody might have wanted the way it is.
Love your eBay store. Have several things I love. Will revisit soon.
The brass knuckles purse was hilarious!
That clutch has such an Alexander McQueen vibe!! Very cool
Awesome find!
Karen.. I have just found you and im obsessed. Weird thing to tell you,I bought two duvet covers awhile back, wanted one for bed and was going to make curtains to create a closet. After watching you like non stop over the weekend(catching up)I got curious and looked up on Pottery Barn for them, discontinued but several that are similar India style are running 170.00 and up!!! I paid 6.99 each Goodwill. Today I went to Goodwill...found an Alice in Wonderland blanket. I had intentions to take slices to add to jackets I am creating. It was $1.00 Sunday there, It was made by Vera Bradley!!!!! Sells for 110.00 on ebay. Wasnt even looking.I just want you to know, I have caught the bug. Thank you. I will be watching you always .soo much to learn but major excited 🤗 laura

I have never seen the shelves so packed, it's amazing things aren't falling to the floor. But what fun! A real treasure hunt , and like you said so much better than the bare shelves in the past. People are saying all the stock is backed up because Karen was out of town. lol.

Our store never has that much stock. But people can’t afford all the gas to run around anymore. And the prices are close to retail. What’s up Goodwill! Great video Karen.
The clear bowl with holes is for a coffee carafe part of a bunson burner set. I have one somewhere. I will sent pic when I find. I enjoy your videos!
Hi Karen, in regards to your two thousands dollars refregirator not dispecing ice, you might want to check if the hose needs to be replaced from the water line, or you might want to check the back to see if the water line became loose. I had the same thing happen to me until I found out the hard way in South Florida until I called an 24 hour appliance institution and charged me a ninety five dollars service call. You might be better off calling the manufacturer if your appliance is registered online sometimes the many brands have customer service and guide you when you have them online while speaking to them. Good Lunck!!
I think the chicken wire cage is a cloche.
I had an icemaker fridge in my first house, fairly new but it quit. Fridge people had to replace the whole unit but it was still under warranty. The way it was explained the little round shoot where the ice comes out stayed open after getting our ice and the outside air made the metal round coil freeze up. At the same time, he told us the compressors on some were being faulty so he replaced that at the same time! It was like getting a brand new fridge!!
This is the most packed store I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🌵🌵 No wonder you keep going there.
Get you a counter ice maker. They work well.
Wow those shelves are definitely loaded I would love to be there
Karen, I think that you should start a line of merch...lavender apparel with "Go Out And Get What's Yours." on it. 💜
There was an indented marking on the first platter you picked up and liked!
Sometimes my icemaker goes out when the refrigerator thinks I need to change my water filter. Instead I just take the filter out shake it and put it back in and everything starts working again
Wow. So much clunderment. But you passed up some beautiful glassware. Can’t blame you for not wanting to ship it.
They've raised their prices so much that I now call them Greedywill. The clothing prices are ridiculous especially since they get most of it for free. Guess the corporate bigwigs need another mansion, yacht, fancy sports car or European vacation. Hmmmm. Goodwill USED to be for the poorer people to get things they need. Now they can't afford to buy much there. Sad.
..47 minutes WOOO HOOO .... going to try to take a 47 minute break..this is about the only thing that could hold my attention that long...LOVE your videos .& thank you for your videos being LOUDER lately ive definitely noticed these last couple weeks
❤I wish mine were like that in Michigan! Our prices are way more expensive too!
The aisles were so full because you hadn't been there:). I too need to repair an icemaker. Let me know how you do. Glad you're back!
Awesome content thanks
I love the purse its so nice
When & why , did GW get so, “ persnickety “? Oh… right just follow the money‼️💰
Great trip
You have the best voice for videos.
Those wood panels look like coat hangers. I think it would be great next to a front door.
That beautiful hen with white with brown feathers is an egg holder. I sold a similar one a couple of weeks ago for £40.
Good morning Karen. Thanks for the video!! Plastically, I died 😂
I think the chicken wire thing is a cloche
Chicken wire item was not a hat form...it is a new, modern Farmhouse decorative cloche. Goodwill stores here in Cincinnati, Ohio are nothing compared to your area Goodwill's. Lucky you! So much to look at!!!~ Best wishes!

I thrift in Cincinnati and always find great stuff, I leave most behind cuz I lack funds, but have fun taking pics!
Our ice maker quit recently too. Water is fine but stopped making ice. It is about 230 to replace it, that includes labor. I believe it was about 150 for the new ice maker alone if somebody can put it in for you.
We had a problem with our ice maker as it froze up. You could try this if your not getting ice, take a hair dryer and place near where ice fills and drops. Do not get to close as to burn the plastic around the ice maker. Run on low and see if this helps just a quick fix you might try.
Wow that Goodwill is huge! Only thing near me is Salvation Army with one two sided shelf of glassware.
That glass bowl with a basket weave pattern and three holes in the bottom is a part of a coffee/tea warmer. A tealight candle sits inside and there should be a metal top that has a decorative circular open pattern to allow the heat through and support the class or metal pot. I have one but cannot find it at this moment.
The chicken wire basket could also serve as an orchid basket.
Darn I wished I lived in your town. Our good will has way less. Silly me I loved the Xmas carolers. Great fun tagging along with you.
My local Goodwill in Florida used to be loaded with merchandise. Since last year, their prices are incredibly high, they are very low on merchandise (with the exception of clothing) all the time and the merchandise is very low quality. Very sad to see. Same with another one further South.
Here in SW., Fla Goodwill has raised the roof on prices. It's gotten tough to source at most of them. I'm just stock piling winter stuff and using the color codes when on sale.
Karen, Please don't forget to post more pics of that cool ethnic hat on IG so we can help you figure it out. Glad you are back and, of course, had a lovely time with Melissa/Barry/Roger in FL.
Oh no..the four carolers were Byer..very good items..mofassa.
OMG those flowered cups you had in your hand at 15:27 are depression era pottery. My mother had a set of them and, I've had antique dealers wanting to buy them from me. Go back and get them.
